Promising characters, nice theme and place but no story.
sinankesen11 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Promising characters, nice theme and place but no story. Hotel theme is very creative and could generate very good stories. But I didnt see any story to be honest. If you want a movie which is appreciated by most then you need a story that makes you wonder how things will conclude. But just like most of his movies this one also lacks a proper story. A criminal checks into the hotel but that chatacter wasnt taken advantage of usefully. You can easily guess most of the things that will happen. You are watching characters and scene that is smartly created but without a story. I was able to finish it thanks to the previous movies he has made.

You can't disturb the disturbed.
nuhzdemir-3736229 September 2023
Well let's be honest. Turkish cinema is not one of the brightest these days. We have Nuri Bilge Ceylan doing some arthouse movies once in a couple years taking away Cannes prizes and thats it. Thank God there is another man who tries to do something new with each of his projects. Cem Yilmaz. He seems like Fellini and Benigni's love child with some hardcore Turkish ancestry. In this movie he somehow did manage to show us the whole country with only a handful of actors and one stage. We all are already disturbed. Every one of us just wanna have o normal life. A bit of happiness. Love for sure. Why is it so hard to some to achieve such basic needs? Is it their fault? Is it because of everyone else? The pandemic? God? I dont know! Neither does Isac! He tries and hopes for the best. Just like you and me. Not gonna lie, a little bit more like me.

Surprisingly good!
madaravilson29 September 2023
If you think that this will be your average Turkish feel-good movie - think again... The start, even up until half of the movie, takes you one way to then take on a veeery dark twist, because anguish has just entered the building as a guest - a crazy night at a Turkish motel indeed.

I would definitely recommend this movie to everyone who wants to be a bit surprised. Nice camera work and the actors have also been well-chosen. Deals with many currently relevant topics like social media and mental health. Liked the fact that I had no idea how exactly this movie is going to end - definitely not predictable!

Latest work of Turkish comedy diva Cem Yilmaz
berkaydevrim17 October 2023
Cem Yilmaz who's been having Jim Carey sendrome for a while relased his latest film recently,in this piece he is showing that apart from comedy he can achieve great things in others aspects as well, including drama and playing various characters. This movie is a sequel in which Cem preserves the "ayzek's" personal traits combines them with current events happening in the world. For example like most of us ayzek bought into the American dream meaning you can achieve things by simply wanting them. Ayzek believes in the phrase "believe in yourself" " just do you"

In ayzeks perspective only problem he has is he has no upper teeth.typical most modern approach one can have. Like almost every single one of us stuck on something which has little impact on our lives but we thing it's the only thing standing between us and our so called perfect dream. Most of the cases that's a lie just like ayzek we need to realize it before it's too late.

Long story short movie is a critique of our modern era.

Sympathetic but not enough
olcare3 October 2023
I am proud that we have Cem Yilmaz in Turkish cinema, but I think we still haven't seen his maximum potential.

I saw and loved the character of Ayzek in the movie '2 Arada' and it was the strongest movie among the Dark/Comedy Movies and the character was well written.

But I didn't get the same strong feeling for this movie in general. I think the movie has a very sympathetic first half and what it wants to tell is clear, but in the second half, while giving the psychological thriller part, it gets boring and that sympathetic part we know was going to the background for me. But I found the acting, scene cuts and shots quite adequate. I wish it had a very strong script.

Especially the ending was very predictable. I wish they were in search of something different. Still, it is a snack movie that can be watched in the evening.

Warning: Spoilers
Nice movie with good dialogues and great acting of Cem Yilmaz. This one is the peak level of "karakomik filmler" series.

Movie caught me in 2 minutes and preserved its flow until the end. You could find mixture of turkish people who are struggling to wear a shirt that don't fits, lost lifes in search of meaningfulness and nice messages about the community.

Movie is about the guy who is struggling to standstill and been late for something in life. Trying to find his place in society but at the same time he is aware of his situation and he wants to change it, but external factors getting things harder. At the end of the day he realizes who he is.

CMYLMZ's FALL
myildirim197516 October 2023
As a fan of Cem Yilmaz, I have seen almost all his movies and stand-up shows. He has created some masterpieces in Turkish movie history. However, I don't get the point why he got stuck in such a character named "Isaac" and his weird plot. Although the acting was good, the setting of the movie and the diaolgues were quite dull. With every movie, Cem Yilmaz is falling behind even though his fans are expecting better ones froom him. I simple do not understand why he insists on just shooting movies while he is mastered in stand-up talk shows. This movie has been ranked as his lowest one among all his works.

He constantly thinks, puts in effort, spends time, money and all his resources for this aim, walking around the outside line and tries to bring us to that side. Thank you and we are so lucky for having you Cem Baba.

Good, thoughtful movie
mrwildgoose25 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
50 year old, all at sea on land. His mom sets him up for marriage and rebukes him like a teenager.

It's a story about a man trying to find himself - through coaches, intellectual superiors, love, passion and most importantly, and most underratedly, through kindness to others. The guru turned out to be a fraud, the intellect (the professor whose life he saved) was selfish though it did save the protagonist from the guru and pointed him to a path of practicality. Love was uninspirational eventually (the girl) and he ditched it, with enough kindness, in a rat poison jar. Passion (the criminal) turned out to be downright dangerous, though he did tame it in the end. Through all of these trials, he remained true to himself, and eventually he did find himself.

A very good performance from the lead actor.

Turkish Joker
scat-763506 October 2023
There is a lot of similarities between The Joker and Do Not Disturb. Colors, lightnings, angles ect. Ect. Both films have the subject of a "stage of insanity." Also, this film got a reference to the character "Joker" in a scene where Ayzek and the girl when they smoke in front of the hotel. So it is no secret. But if we say this is a bad Joker copycat it could be unfair.

The details about the "hotel business" is insanely correct. Ayzek getting the wrong name tag at the first scene, being a bad hotel's night manager makes him smoke so often, no one is coming for check-in ect. Everything you see about the hotel business is very correct.

Characters felt very real and I like the scenario.

Only problem about the film is, it really doesn't feed the expectations with that final and I was expecting something big at the end. My suggestion, if the final is going to be the worst part of the film, don't try to make one.

Also what was the part about Ayzek felt down to that car? If it was Davut's room, what did we see? I think it's not connected to somewhere that is a problem, because you gave so much clue but there is no puzzle.

In total it could be one of the best films ever made in Turkish cinema but it could be better and if someone going to do that, who could be better than Cem Yilmaz?

If there is more given, than more expected.

Good Job
emresenn-3596030 October 2023
If you follow the interviews of CY, you will see a lot of references to his personal views on people / typologies in social media. The subject and the flow of the story is nice.

I just did not like the parts related to the academician character. I found them too didactive and a little bit cliche.

Another explicitly cliche story was reference to the violence against woman.

If CY stops this didactive attitude, his movies will be much much better. He says he doesn't care much what critics say, but I think he cares too much and this causes him to be not totally free with the story.

The dance scene in pharmacy is epic!

Nice movie
olcayozfirat27 October 2023
First, I will go back to my first acquaintance with Cem Yilmaz, and then I will come to the movie. His name became an instant phenomenon in the 90s. Since I am a person who cannot accept changes easily, I hated him at first. I think he was given a different dress at that time. Arrogant, quick-witted, bragging about his wealth, spoiled, etc. In the first place, money and fame can also suddenly put a person in this state. I only saw the guy in tabloids and talk shows. He was laughing at his own joke. Then a friend of mine gave me his demonstration recorded on tape. It was really funny. He was telling the events that happened to him and occasionally teasing the audience. I started to feel a little bit of sympathy.

I liked the movie Her Sey Cok Güzel Olacak. I have never liked the characters in comedy movies. Juggler was once again a movie that I liked very much. The movies that everyone else loved didn't have that effect on me. But I watched their shows with great interest. I also really liked his dignified stance that developed over time. As I say, I cannot easily adapt to innovations, I could not replace Cem Yilmaz with anyone who is a teenager when it comes to performing. I haven't even watched any of them. I only had patience for 3-5 minutes.

As for the movie; The character is a type who is all alone, trying to find himself by a personal development person on the internet, and trying to suppress his inferiority by showing himself to others as an important person. We see these types a lot in our daily lives, and sometimes we even see them ourselves. However, when it is implied by the other person that he is actually an unimportant person, he becomes aggressive and aggressive. Also, I have heard the phrase "what more jokes do I have?" hundreds of times after his unfunny jokes.

Night shift at a hotel is a concept often used in horror movies. Those who spend most of their lives in hotel rooms, like me, understand better that the hotel is different day and night, the loneliness experienced in the room, etc. You read news of famous people committing suicide when they are left alone with their depression. In this hotel, Ayzek, who has a weak character, experiences an event that creates a lot of tension in one night. A professor commits suicide, an outlaw acts suspiciously, a painter outside...

The film arouses curiosity and is enjoyed to a certain extent. But like every Cem Yilmaz movie, it starts to get boring at some point. This is usually the apology part where the tone of voice drops. And as in every Cem Yilmaz movie I've watched, it has a happy ending (except Iftarlik Gazoz). I think it would be better if he tried his last job differently. Although there are some movies I haven't watched.

Let me open a separate parenthesis for Bülent Sakrak. I admire this man's finishing roles. I've been watching since Babazons. The guy has great comedic potential. I liked this movie too.

The movie is slightly above average in my opinion.

classic cem yilmaz.

Warning: Spoilers
While Do Not Disturb is about the funny events that take place in the hotel, it also includes social criticism. In addition to humor, the film also attracts attention with its clever dialogues and creative scenario.

As for his acting performances, Cem Yilmaz does justice to his role with his unique style. Successful actors such as Mehmet Gunsur, Rasim Oztekin and Nilperi Sahinkaya appear in the supporting roles and they enrich the film even more with their performances.

In addition to being a movie full of fast pace, entertaining scenes and jokes, Do Not Disturb also aims to make the audience think about current issues. I think it is a work that should definitely be watched for those who love Cem Yilmaz's approach to cinema.

Cem Yilmaz's most serious movie
Orhan_Akdeniz20 December 2023
Cem Yilmaz worked hard to be taken seriously by the cinema community. He shot works that moved away from juicy comedy. But it wasn't successful until this movie. This movie was my favorite Cem Yilmaz movie. The Aztec character also attracted attention in the series of dark comic films, he was the most interesting character of the series. But the surreal version of the movie was bad and boring. In this movie, everything falls into place. The side characters are colorful and interesting, and the sense of humor is on point. In this movie, the surreal dream scenes were reduced and it was better. They shot a perfect Netflix project. It has both a fun and social message. The atmosphere is very nice. I've always praised it, but don't expect an unforgettable masterpiece. It's just a good movie.

Best movie after so long
cerenkiroglu844 October 2023
This is really the best movie of Cem Yilmaz after so long. Watched the whole movie without taking without even a second of break. The story, the shoots, the colorings, all of them were excellent.

The best part is that the main character does not try so much to be funny this time. Or the other characters like the professor is not too much portrayed. All natural. Some of the details in the movie was quite brilliant. Story development is also brilliant. Even the lightning in the scenes were perfect. I really enjoy the movie a lot and hope to see more of his movies. This movie was like a fresh air in Turkish cinema after so long.

The Spirits have done it all in one night
yusufpiskin29 September 2023
A 2023 Cem Yilmaz film focusing on the world of the character Ayzek, who also appears in the Karakomik Films series.

Cem Yilmaz is one of the most important cinema people in Turkey.

He started his artistic life at a very young age and improved himself by doing better each time.

This film is an admirable work with its sound recording, actors, direction, and images.

Cem Yilmaz's best work on his biggest dream, 'bringing together Art-House cinema and Blockbuster movies'.

As a cinema lover and a CY fan, my greatest wish is for this universe to be completed and more TV series/movies to come.

Celal Kadri Kinoglu is a great person.

The cast CY chose for this movie is full of really good decisions.

Do Not
kataradnan29 November 2023
First of all, the movie is not a classic Cem Yilmaz comedy, you need to watch it knowing that. It is a film that is a continuation of Cem Yilmaz's understanding of films and scripts that has changed in recent years. It was a very high quality production and the dose of humor was ideal. There is a little sadness, a little tension, a little criticism in it, in short, Cem Yilmaz plays from every tune. Movies like this, which take place in almost a single location and in a very short time period, are always better for me because the lines come to the fore here. The lines were also very suitable for Cem Yilmaz's quality and his references / criticisms.

A long analysis can be written for each character, and we can even say that the characters represent certain parts of the main character, Ayzek. Even though it was a single-location film, it was a very fluid film that was not static or boring.

Definitely a recommended movie to watch.

A very successful production!!!👏👏👏
dzarikan1 October 2023
It is a very successful film shot in a limited location with a handful of actors. The actors portrayed the characters in the movie very well. It is watched with curiosity and without getting bored. Especially the night atmosphere and fiction in the movie attract people with curiosity and interest. There are criticisms from Turkish viewers about the use of too much slang and swearing. However, we encounter much more slang and swearing in our daily lives. An unfair and unwarranted criticism.

It turns out that it can be a successful production without flying, escaping, superheroes or crazy action... I congratulate the entire cast...

Sad to see you go Cem
asinankaya6 January 2024
This film, when taken in conjunction with his latest standup specials, indicates to me that Cem Yilmaz lost any touch he had with the society he lives in. The movie criticizes vague and outdated stereotypes whilst not touching on actual pressing matters. And even tries to do so in a politically correct (as the Turkish saying goes, without touching the water or the soap) way.

The plot is quite poor, characters are forced. His insistency to cast himself as the lead role in all his movies is no longer paying off. The more he tries to push himself out of the several similar characters he wrote for himself, to more it's shown that he is not at all a method actor. The movie was a disappointing waste of my time, especially given the duration, had it been a short film like the prequel for this story, I might have shrugged it of as an experimental chapter in his filmography.

His best movie and i love it
gizemulusoy2 October 2023
A very original signature film that no one else can make.

There are dialogues that will make you think

Art direction is great

i think even though it reflected the main character's desperation the most, it helped us empathize with people we would turn our noses up at if we saw them on the street.

I still don't empathize

Because there are very few people who are both losers and good

Cem Yilmaz is crazy about cinema, we could see this passion very clearly.

I hope we can love like him without breaking values.

We're following everything he does in the future Thank you very much.

Very satisfying.

Haven't seen such a film since a long time..
omer-194-53543220 October 2023
Cem Yilmaz's latest film "Do Not Disturb" is a delightful comedy that will leave you in stitches from start to finish. Yilmaz, known for his impeccable comedic timing and wit, delivers yet another hilarious performance that showcases his talent as both an actor and a writer.

The film revolves around the life of a hotel owner, played by Yilmaz himself, who finds himself in a series of comical situations when a group of eccentric guests check into his hotel. From mistaken identities to outrageous requests, the film takes the audience on a rollercoaster ride of laughter.

Yilmaz's comedic genius shines through in every scene, as he effortlessly delivers one-liners and physical comedy that will have you laughing out loud. His ability to bring out the humor in even the simplest of situations is truly remarkable.

The supporting cast also deserves praise for their exceptional performances. Each actor brings their unique comedic style to the table, creating a perfect blend of humor that keeps the audience entertained throughout the film. The chemistry between the actors is palpable, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the overall experience.

In addition to the stellar performances, the film's screenplay is well-crafted and keeps the audience engaged from start to finish. The pacing is spot-on, with each scene seamlessly transitioning into the next, ensuring that there is never a dull moment. The clever dialogue and witty banter between the characters further enhance the comedic elements of the film.

Visually, "Do Not Disturb" is a treat for the eyes. The cinematography captures the vibrant colors and beautiful scenery, adding to the overall charm of the film. The production design and costumes are also top-notch, creating a visually appealing backdrop for the comedic chaos that unfolds.

While "Do Not Disturb" primarily aims to entertain, it also manages to touch upon some deeper themes, such as the importance of human connection and the value of friendship. These underlying messages add depth to the film, making it more than just a mindless comedy.

Overall, Cem Yilmaz's "Do Not Disturb" is a must-watch for any fan of comedy. With its brilliant performances, clever writing, and visually stunning presentation, the film is a true gem in the genre. Prepare to laugh until your sides hurt as Yilmaz takes you on a hilarious journey that you won't soon forget.

Excellent Sickness
sutcuaytac30 September 2023
I saw movie "Do not disturb". I read plot and I liked it. "Do not disturb" is masterpiece, so unusual from all other Cem Yilmaz movies. I've seen lots of Inconsistent personality monologues on screen and to me this isn't nothing new but I think that people under depression really shouldn't watch this one. To say something about plot is quite impossible because I don't know where to begin. If I start talking about the movie I could tell few important things and I know that people often read other comments because they didn't watch that movie. So, I'm going to say only The flow of the film is like climbing a mountain. It requires patience and perseverance until the top, then it comes by itself and feels good. Cem Yilmaz enjoyed both his screenwriting and directing in this film. I cannot say anything more because I could reveal some secret and I don't wanna do that to all new viewers. Only a recommendation. Beautiful, intelligent masterpiece of movie that I highly recommend for everyone with strong stomach and too all of you who want to see one excellent, but sick story. Enjoy 10/10.

Existential Angst
hsnylcnky10 October 2023
Cem Yilmaz has achieved a remarkable pinnacle of creative brilliance with his cinematic masterpiece, 'Do Not Disturb.' The narrative elegantly unfolds within the confinements of a restricted space, employing a concise cast that encapsulates the essence of the tale. The focal point of the plot centers around Ayzek, a man navigating the labyrinth of middle age, grappling with the weighty burden of existential turmoil. Once gainfully employed on a vessel, fate thrusts him into unemployment as the pandemic sweeps through his life. Two years hence, he embarks on a new journey, finding solace in the hospitality sector at a terrestrial abode. His pursuit is noble; a quest to carve out his rightful niche within society's intricate fabric, yearning for recognition as a fellow constituent of the collective. Ayzek, in his journey of self-discovery, seeks guidance from sage personal development coaches, endeavoring to extend a helping hand to all those he encounters. Remarkably, he even endeavors to quell the tumult of a personality disorder through meticulous medication and introspective reflection, emblematic of his unwavering dedication to transcend the shackles of self.
