An expedition of five men on four watercraft make an ambitious attempt to travel from Seattle Washington, though the Canadian inside passage, the Alaskan inside passage, into the Bering Sea and cross the Bering Strait to Russia.
After spending the night in a Canadian ghost town the team push north and arrive in Alaskan waters. Forced to overnight on a deserted beach the men experience incredible wildlife then retrofit their watercraft in Petersburg Alaska.
Traveling through Southeast Alaska the team tests all of their new gear on the Stikine River. Steven Moll suffers a breakdown and the team may have to leave their leader behind.
The expedition gets caught in a small craft advisory just below Haines, Alaska, and members of the team are thrown into the frigid waters. Patrick's watercraft needs to be replaced, and the men find themselves sinking in the Gulf of Alaska.
Rescued the expedition finds itself on Afognak Island among enormous Brown Bears. The men cross the Shelikoff Straits, notorious for sinking ships and end up on a deserted beach out of fuel. Steven makes an emergency call for help.
A pilot from Kodiak risks the dangerous flight to refuel the expedition and the men are forced to camp among enormous Brown Bears. Dangers are amplified when the crew finds a shipwreck and the men question Steven's leadership.
After overcoming enormous odds the expedition enters the Bering Sea. With huge waves, fading light, fog and rain the men and their machines are hoisted onto a crab vessel to spend the night. Wesley calls it quits.
