Sex & Nudity

  • Many men and women are shown in beach scenes wearing bikinis and swim trunks that reveal cleavage, bare abdomens, bare backs and legs.
  • A man mentions that he had sex.
  • A huge beach party is seen for about 20 minutes of the movie, boys and girls are seen in swim trunks and skimpy bikini tops and bottoms.
  • A man and woman kiss at a beach party.
  • A man tried to kiss a girl who was his boss.

  • Two men are a couple played for laughs.
  • While searching a girl's room, Schmidt and Jenko find a bra.

Violence & Gore

  • In one scene, a man headbutts another man and he tumbles over.
  • In the final shoot out, when someone is shot a small amount blood spurts out but doesn't stain the environment and a man is stabbed in the stomach very briefly. Also a man is shot in the arm (grazed), with the same amount of blood.
  • There is a scene where graphic pictures of a young woman who fell off a building and died on impact are shown. There is a splatter of blood displayed, which may upset some viewers.
  • Lots of shooting.
  • During the credits - which many will watch due its comedic nature- include sequences of shooting with little to no blood it also includes a man getting stabbed, some blood drips down his shirt
  • PG-13 style comedic violence, brief blood from gunshots, shooting
  • An octopus jumps at a character and attacks him, not gory and is only added for a comedic effect.
  • The violence in 22 Jump Street is very comic book style. This movie is not rated R because of the violence. The violence is non-frequent, funny and not realistic. Many PG-13 movies are more violent.
  • Some punches to the face, as a man hits a woman in a comic fist fight.
  • Some more action styled car chases and shooting and violence.

Profanity

  • Two misuses of "Jesus Christ".
  • 23 anatomical terms, 18 mild obscenities.
  • 200 f-bombs throughout.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The premise to the film surrounds police officers trying to find the dealers and suppliers of a new synthetic drug that can have deadly side effects.
  • A fake drug is discussed and people are shown comically getting high off of it. This is all for humor and does not glorify drug use in any way.
  • College kids drink massive amounts of alcohol at parties and in drinking games, sometimes to the point of throwing up. Beer games are played alot.
  • Schmidt and Jenko take a drug in one scene. They both have different hallucinations; Jenko's hallucination is him cycling on top of a rainbow and Schmidt's hallucination is him visiting hell.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • All the "intense" moments are always followed up by comedy
  • In one scene, Schmidt and a girl have a discussion about one of the students committing suicide.
  • The final shootout is intense.

Sex & Nudity

  • A man kisses a woman on the beach after using her in a fight.
  • Jenko says at least 13 times that Schmidt had sex with the daughter of Captain Dickson as to make fun of him. As punishment Schmidt gets tased.
  • A woman is shown in a bath towel after showering.
  • Man in boxers, but they look like shorts so it would be very hard to tell they were.
