The person who recommended splitting up the movie into two volumes to Lloyd Kaufman was Quentin Tarantino. Lloyd liked the idea. It made sense because there was a huge amount of footage and the movie would be over 3 hours long if it wasn't split up into two parts.
There was a special secret screening of the film at the Cannes Film Festival in France on May 16, 2013.
At the time this movie entered into pre-production, another Troma Nuke 'Em High movie was in development in Spain (Class of Nuke 'Em High Part IV). Features Catherine Corcoran's first nude scenes. She said she spoke extensively with director Lloyd Kaufman and film commissioner Pat Kaufman about the nude scenes within the film and their symbolism. As a production, the team felt the discussion was important, not only because she was 19 at the time and it would be her first experience with on-screen nudity, but also because of how crucial it was to protect the authenticity of the queer relationship between the film's protagonists. She admitted she was terrified the moment she had to strip off her clothes in front of the male production crew, but once she was nude she got used to it quickly as she focused on the scene. After having to shoot the scene from several angles over the course of a few hours, being naked no longer bothered her. In fact, after this, many of the roles she was offered also required nudity and she had no problem accepting them.
The first public screening of the film took place at Troma's own Tromadance Film Festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey at Asbury Lanes on Saturday, April 13, 2013. The fest and film were free to to the public.
