Just when I thought this series couldn't get any worse 😂
direwolf-9797821 January 2023
Watching this to see how different it is to the others. It's good entertainment when you don't want something serious to watch BUT the characters are a whole new level of precious and spoilt.

Nam: OMG I MIGHT HAVE TO WORK FOR MONEY...my goodness what a tragedy. Poor princess.

All you can really do is blame the parents for raising such lazy selfish narcissistic children who expect everything to be handed to them because it's all they know. But then the parents can't understand why their children behave the way they do ... such a mystery!

Some of the women in this series are either great actresses or absolute idiots. Money may be inherited but intelligence, decency and integrity certainly aren't.

Hard to tell if it is real or they are acting
sinemdd3 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Some of those people are spoiled for sure but you can not be that stupid or ignorant. So I think most of it is acting and arranged. My only favorite character is the jewelry designer who seems actually hardworking and good at what she does. Although his husband is a total d***. But he is a real character.

I watched it just to get a glimpse of New York City. But the filming locations are not New York at all. It feels like they are all set up locations. I wish I could see more of New York City and more action on the streets.

Seeing how different those characters look on TV and on their Instagram accounts is funny.

In general, it is very boring and hard to watch.

Character review
carterspink25 September 2023
Lynn is just wicked. I hate how she wanted to get in the middle of Vika and Richard's relationship. She is most definitely a kind of person you should stay away from at all cost. Don't be like her! Ha ha. Nobody, even Dorothy is not at all annoying to the level of Lynn. I can't believe people who are nosy like that exists in real life.

Vika is the prettiest and the sweetest amongst all the characters. Tina and Blake are really sweet too. Uncle Stephen and Deborah just reminds me of the Adam's family. Overall, this series is good to kill time if you love fashion and curious about the lives of filthy rich.

Vapid
vpgfpwsks29 January 2023
Yes it's about out of touch rich people.... But it's far worse than I expected. Ridiculous and vapid. It is nauseating and disgusting pathetic with a dash of narcissism. If only these incredibly wealthy individuals added something to society rather than being self important snobs with no understanding of reality. In this day and age with such a huge gap between the haves and the have nots... if I was struggling to make ends meet this would be not only ridiculous and anti-intellectual, but also infuriating. Stop giving this %*#^ a platform. I'd be far more interested in a show that makes these people work a job and see how they do.

Boring, bland and not even close to the original
andyb252525 January 2023
Oh man, where to start with this one. Well, I couldn't even make it through the 2nd episode. I only made it through the 1st after watching in about 6 different sittings. I'll also add that I'm a big fan of the original.

This show tries so hard that it makes it feel very forced, fake and scripted. It's no where near as good as the original, which I really enjoyed. This show was boring and bland and that's me being genrous. Dorothy is not entertaining. Rest if the characters are super meh.

I won't be able to finish this season or series, it's just too terrible. I hope they make another season of the original instead.

This is so bad.
vladimir-jurisic28 January 2023
One of the worst reality tv shows I've seen in my life. I love to occasionally shut my brain from my everyday rhythm with a bit of trashy brainless but entertaining reality tv, and appreciate a bit of extreme super rich decadence lifestyle and superficiality as long as it's aesthetically pleasing and fun. But this is nothing. They are not even good looking a part from Dorothea (the Mexican wife of hung) . They are not doing anything interesting or amazing or fun with their money. They basically don't add to anything on this planet. Dorothy is the most annoying, useless, brat of a human I've ever seen. She is ugly, spoiled, disrespectful, stupid and BORING, she adds no new value to the world in any way, she just exists as a child of a billionaire and is a useless, ugly, boring brat. Terrible people, even worst tv show.

Dorothy is not a good person.
millerleonard12 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I am a big fan of Bling Dynasty. This isn't that show set in New York, Dorothy is rude and did not do her homework on New York. This show is trival. Tina should be the story leader, even though she missed FRONT ROW at Chanel. That was VERY stupid move and her crying was fake. More story on when and IF she got back into the good graces of CHANEL would have been great. Overall, more on the how and why of Tina became an influencer. She is the one person , I have seen and heard off. More TINA, more events. Ditch Dorothy, no one cares that in New York buildings don't do your personal errands, that's what personal assistants are for. DO YOUR HOMEWORK! Luck in being born into a rich family does not a story make.

Get rid of the rude girl from LA.

Why Are You Here if Not for Petty Rich People Drama?
MeadtheMan23 January 2023
Richard: "she's mixed of this and that... I want her to see the world the way I see it."

Nobody will blame you if you thought he's talking about a dog breed and not his girlfriend. His narcissism and masculine aggression can easily be wrapped up in his opening lines.

Dorothy may have a typical mean, demanding rich girl's attitude, but she does have valid points sometimes. But if she doesn't want to be confined to her wealth, and don't trust most people, maybe just maybe, hang out with people who are less $$$-minded? But she's too deeply ingrained in that bling I think.

Jett: "are you gay"? Snowflake... masculine. Gosh, how many more conservative boomer stereotypes can be jammed into one person?

Tina: perhaps the most relatable person for people who don't belong to bling. She's the type that, while halfway through ridiculous rich people debauchery realizes that something bad has gone down and flags it

Blake: sigh, find better friends

Lynn: yea, your kid's grown up, spread your wings like you've always wanted. Don't let your jealous spouse clip your wings.

Nam: no comments

Hungs: wax museum characters... came to life? But like not actually alive...

Light hearted, realistic and warm
melodyso21 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Coming into this, I had pretty low expectations because I saw how the original LA version went downhill and turned into very dry drama on bullying a single cast memeber. BUT the NY version is so much better I have to say!

I really appreciate how Tina is being so open and vulnerable about her struggles with feeling lonely and not achieving much at her age. I also relate a lot to her fear of men. I also really like Blake being such a supportive sweetheart to everyone and his concern over settling down is also very real for Asians too. Dorothy has shown such a loving and supporting side of her too.

I just really enjoy seeing the mainly positive vibe on the show. Friends supporting friends. Compared to LA version, people like much more natural and authentic. Their struggles are more relatable. I care about these people more.

I can't stand Richard, Vika and Jett! Richard seems such a clout chasing. Vita very much lets her relationship define her and talk abojt people behind her back tho i like how she stops the proposal. Jett is simply a very mean person that sucks the energy out of the room.

a bunch of airheads
Abbye-Sei30 January 2023
Two episodes in and dont know if i can continuing on.

I am from Hong Kong and work in one of the six licensees in Macao casino business. Stephen Hung owns a hotel (The 13) in Macau but last I heard is its opening has been delayed due to financial problem, and the casino license wasn't secured. Anyways, he is a rather colouful character and he has a pink (with Deborah as the plate) and yellow rolls royce parked outside his office.

Never heard of Tina Leung, the rest of the cast are all boring characters, but i am expecting it so no surprise, the most annoying of the bunch is Dorothy Wang, she is loud, obnoxious, rude and even under tons of make up still looks ugly and honestly, she needs to lose some meat, she is always hungry lol, no amount of designer clothes will make you look good if you are fat and short. Lynn's makeup is so 60s, her dress style horrible and here i thought they are supposed to be fashion forward.

It is a pity with all their money, they could have done something significant or contribute to the betterment of the society, instead they just wasting their life away, the thai princess was so aghast that she needs to work to earn money. Their parents are to blame.

Overall, if there is no better show to watch, this can be entertaining, just dont take the show too seriously.

Cringe and so 2000 style of show.
tekukiryu8 February 2023
I am currently watching and HAD to create an account just to post my opinion. It is that bad. It is so cringe, contestants are ugly compared to say other Asian shows despite them being also Asians! Everyone looked 10-20 years older than age. I am actually shocked after finding out their age. Forget about their awful failed surgery faces, but how they talk is the most annoying thing that i've ever heard. They try to sound cute? Baby talk? Babbling at 40? Fake high tone? I have no idea but i can't continue because their voice and way of talking is annoying me. Me ear is bleeding. Also i wanted to watch about "elite" asians not some kind of low class clowns. It's hard to think that they even own some kind of money. With this kind of brain it's a real mystery.

Seriously... ?
krombang11 May 2023
Very boring cast except Dorothy. Why we even watch Jett? Obvious that he is in for getting in the 'ride' ... which is whatever, but it's not on this platform please. It's supposed to be about Asian people. Very annoyed when he starts being interviewed.

Vika's partner? Casting is wrong. Dorothy is on point about him just basically using people, and he shouldn't be on the casts because this is about rich, shallow, self centered, racist (only Asian can be in my group) people. This guy is self centered, but everything else screams 'trying too hard' and not real. Which is the complete opposite of this show's vibe.

Tina is sad, a bit bipolar and definitely not ready for this. Obviously depressed and need help. Not Dorothy's help. But professional. Which is not common for Asians. Actually, that should be her story line maybe...anyway, at this point, she is Not interesting enough, to put it nicely.

I write a review mostly because I like a show. This time I wrote hoping so that the casts are changed for the next season...

Empty suitcases, empty characters
gmaddis30 January 2023
The pathetic staged arrival in New York with obviously empty suitcases being fake struggled from an SUV set the stage for what's ahead - empty, poorly scripted episodes from a group of vapid fringe "blingers". While other iterations of this franchise have maintained some semblance of continuity and interest this high underachieved gaggle of characters sinks like cold foam on a latte. Panda Express is featured as the go to food, a solid testimonial to the cast itself - all styrofoam and plastic and definitely disposable fodder for a landfill. There are brief appearance by interesting characters who have the good sense to make brief cameos, scoff at the mall rats and disappear.

Boring characters
jofd-2942027 January 2023
I love trash tv, i really do! I had high trash expectations on this show but it was just so incredibly boring.

There is no storyline, the characters are trying so damn hard to be edgy and special but they are just BORING!!!

The producers couldn't find any interesting Asians in New York at all? Everything is so forced.

The worst character must be the husband of the older party woman.

The influencer girl who cries all the time could have been interesting to follow but she ruined it.

The Richard guy....boring, i still don't understand why he even was on the show?

They should have showed the billionaire guy with the Karen-haircut, talk about his story but no.

I'm angry I spent time watching the whole season.

Have realistic expectations people!
dwponce27 January 2023
Have realistic expectations people.... It was everything I thought it would be and maybe a little better than I expected.

I didn't turn this on expecting it to change my life or views on different social backgrounds. It's a reality show with different characters mostly all of whom are rich.. and so what? If you don't like it why did you really want to watch it in the first place.

If anything you can take away from this it's that money is great and I wish I had more of it. But, it can also make you realize money isn't everything if your alone and don't have anyone to share it with or people in your life that care about you.

Slaysians gang-up on non-Asian
isabelbecerraib13 February 2023
As in season 1 bling empire the cast ganged up on dorothy's too handsome for her boyfriend Mexican American actor Kevin gray. Asians don't go against each other so collectively they gang up on the non-Asian. In bling empire New York the Asians go after non-Asian Patricia Valdez hung. Once again tribal slaysians won't go after their own so they go after someone who is "safe" another Mexican. This show is contrived. Asians trying to b snobby and catty but because they are recently immigrated they come across as too much to prove and the chip on their shoulder comes through. Dorothy just got older and dummer.

Not terrible
Boxer_00720 May 2023
I haven't watched the original Bling Empire in LA so cannot compare these two. The NYC version was tolerable with some likeable characters and an overall casual, easy-to-watch vibe. There's obviously some wealth-flaunting but honestly a lot of it feels a bit exaggerated (especially Nam) so I wouldn't take it too seriously. Besides the billionaire heiresses most of these people are far from being as wealthy as they claim to be. Dorothy fits well as the frontrunner as she's both funny & outspoken. Tina, Blake, and the couple (Vika/Richard) are all decently entertaining. The only unlikeable characters in my opinion were Lynn and her long-distance husband. The separate storyline of Deborah and her husband also felt completely disjointed from the main series as they only appeared together with the main crew during episode one and they had the least amount of airtime.

Overall, easy short binge that's obviously heavily scripted but still entertains enough when there's nothing else to watch.

completely not worth even bothering
astrologalexandracoman6 February 2023
I really loved watching Bling Empire LA. The people are funny, relaxed even if there were some tense moments ( not intended to spoil the fun by revealing details) the whole development of the action line was ok. But the Bling Empire New York is so out of question.... these people are so fake, there is a couple that obviously envies all the rich spooled snowflakes in the movie and are so much after money that they make you nauseating. My opinion is that the rich people of new york got envious on the rich people of LA who had their show and they also wanted a show where they can just sparkle more than the previous ones. But they really try too much. So much that they bore you to the point where you just switch to another movie or channel.

Lighten up people it's fun
rovalenzuela22 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Dorothy starts off a little shaky but you see her good side and why she's so guarded. Love how she met Ari. I met my husband in a similar situation. Tina is adorable. Fun and her fashion is fantastic. I wish I had her confidence to start a career in fashion and to wear those amazing outfits. She is genuine. The Hungs are fun to watch, the extravagance is so mind blowing I can't not watch. Certainly don't see that everyday! Blake has a good heart and he's so handsome and a loyal friend. I was moved by his ceremony for his dad. It's mindless entertainment and the fashion and jewelry are fabulous. No Emmys here but who cares!

It is not that bad
geralt888 March 2023
I actually find myself quite enjoying this show. It is more relatable than the original bling LA one. Characters seem to more down to earth and don't create petty, show off y, fake drama. I am always rooting for Tina and Dorothy seems actually good person and good friend. I like how she lights up when she is talking about Ari in the interview and their conversation and reactions seem genuine. Hope they keep dating and she finds love. (Although I am worried that her being too rich for Ari lol). I love Lynn. She is very straightforward, positive and smart. She is just enjoying her life. Nam and others not much to say. Very sweat friend of them (can't remember his name) seems also very genuine and cute. Overall this show deserves more scores. It definitely has soul and genuineness though I can see why some people find it bland and fake. But who needs ugly, fake, gross drama.
