That 2012 began with an overwrought hyper-melodramatic brutal and tumultuous remake of Agneepath and ended with Yash Chopra’s muted mellow all-heart-no-malice ode to romance Jab Tak Hai Jaan seems indicative of the direction that Bollywood seems headed for. The journey, as we can see, is unpredictable and largely exciting. Looking back, some films of 2012 that fetched hype-star ratings seem bloated and over-eager to please either critics or the masses, but never both. Luckily the films that were truly meritorious did get a place under the swoon.
Each year Bollywood surprises us, and not always in a good way. 2012 seems like a watershed year even by the continuously evolving standards of filmmaking set by envelope-pushing directors who have filtered into filmdom during the past years. 2012 was the year when Tigmanshu Dhulia, Sujoy Ghosh and Shoojit Sircar came into their own with films that took mainstream cinema to new heights. There won't be a romantic ending to 2012 anymore. Aashiqui 2, which was supposed to arrive in December this year, has been pushed further ahead. That, after the lead pair of the film - Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor - was announced with much fanfare just a few days back. Confirms our source, "Shraddha had declined Yash Raj's Aurangzeb opposite Arjun Kapoor and opted for Aashiqui 2 instead since she found the later more interesting. She immediately allocated her dates for the film as well. However she would now have to wait for much longer to come back on the big screen since Bhatts have different plans for the film." For Bhatt brothers, family has always been on a forefront. However, above it all, there is business that has holds maximum prominence. Never the kind to get bogged down by star system, they have always maintained that fresh talent is what they are constantly in look out for. No wonder, after enjoying a healthy association with Emraan Hashmi, Mohit Suri and Kangna Ranaut, Mukesh and Mahesh Bhatt are now getting their alternate plans in place as well. The new entrants? Kunal Khemu, Vishal Mahadkar/Kunal Deshmukh and Esha Gupta.

Mumbai: From the cute ‘Sunny’ (child- actor) in ‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar ke’ to a man getting entangled in the diamond mafia (in ‘Blood Money’), Kunal Khemu seems to have come a long away.
When quizzed regarding his relationship status with his girlfriend and actor, Soha Ali Khan, Kunal says that they have been seeing each other since the past two years and have been enjoying every moment of it. As soon as a relationship is out in the open, people start queuing up to ask when the next step in the relationship will take place.
However, Kunal says that they are both in a very happy state as of now and have no immediate impending plans of getting engaged or married in the near future as opposed to the multitude of rumours doing the rounds in B-town. He says that marriage will happen but they want to take.

Mumbai: Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Blood Money’ directed by Vishal Mahadkar will be out soon, the scheduled release date is 30th of March, 2012. Mahesh it seems is not very happy with the current title. If he had had his way, the film would have been titled ‘Kalyug 2’ instead of ‘Blood Money’.
Indeed he meant to, but was forced to relent after being staunchly opposed by director Vishal and actor Kunal Khemu. The justification they gave is quite sensible. The Bhatt camp is already making ‘Raaz 3’, ‘Murder 3’, ‘Jism 3’, ‘Ashiqui 2’; so it made sense to try and keep an original title like ‘Blood Money’.
‘Blood Money’ is the story of a small-time boy (Kunal Khemu) who elopes with his girl (actress Amrita Puri of ‘Aisha’ fame) to Cape Town where he enters into a diamond.

When it comes to the Bhatts' Vishesh films, there is no getting away from Emraan Hashmi. Even when a rare Vishesh film comes along that doesn't star Hashmi, he makes his omnipresence felt.
Though the new Vishesh Film Blood Money stars Khemu, Emraan Hashmi is also a part of the film, albeit by proxy.
Apparently, the film's leading lady Amrita Puri has based her role of a school teacher on Emraan Hashmi's wife Parveen who is a school teacher. Amrita's character and that includes her clothes, language and conduct in the classroom were all imbibed by Amrita while closely observing Emraan's gentle wife.
Apparently, Amrita spent a great deal of time observing Parveen.
Says the actress, "Yes, my character in Blood Money is modelled on Parveen. I got a chance to meet her. She is a very sweet girl and we had great time."

Mumbai, Feb 29: The leaked intimate scene from "Blood Money" was not marketing strategy, says Mahesh Bhatt adding that the film does not belong to the erotic thrillers genre like "Murder" and "Jism".
"I am not happy. One of our over-enthusiastic PR person thought that leaking it would benefit the film. But these things send a wrong signal about. I was never apologetic about the kinds of films we make. Like 'Murder' and 'Jism' are erotic thrillers. But, 'Blood Money' is not a product of that profile," the 63-year-old said here while promoting the film at a radio station.

Mumbai, Feb 28: Innovative marketing is must for a film's success, feels Mahesh Bhatt who launched the music of his next project "Blood Money" on a yacht out at sea, saying by doing so the bar had been raised.
"If you conceive a film but have not thought about the marketing, then you will be in trouble. In just three days, a film's fate is decided. No matter how bad a film might be, but if it runs houseful nobody has the guts to say anything against it. So, marketing is very important," Bhatt told Ians.
However, Bhatt feels it's not easy to market a film as it decides the fate of the film.
