Loved the story and chemistry

This story really moved me.

I have seen tons of cdramas and categorize them by: 1. Do not pass first episode 2. Good enough to watch at least half but eventually drop them 3. Watch until the end but skipping parts 4. Watch until the end really hooked and rewatch favorite scenes.

This one fall definitively in the last category.

I could relate with the characters . Love that they have flaws and their own emotional handicaps and limitations. Their chemistry is great.

The love story is engaging and even if you have some drama (that I usually hate) it's very well managed as not to be oppressive.

Also has its flaws and sometimes you get irritated by some behaviors but I found them believable ( yes sometimes you just can't move on and do stupid things).

Nice beginning and ending (ends well so it's worth the wait).

It's has been a wile since I enjoyed a cdrama this much :)

Lighter & Princess' is the Perfect Rom-Com for a Feel-Good Watch

2021 Chinese romantic comedy drama that tells the story of two people from different backgrounds who fall in love despite their differences

The acting in "Lighter & Princess" is good, and the chemistry between the two leads, played by actors Wang An Yu and Zhang Ya Qin, is believable and cute. The drama is well-paced, and the storyline is engaging, although it does have some predictable plot points.

The drama also touches upon themes of social class, discrimination, and the importance of family.

Overall, lighthearted and enjoyable romantic comedy that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. While it may not be the most groundbreaking or original drama out there, it is still worth a watch for fans of the genre.

Second Favorite C-Drama

This is my forth C-drama series but so far my favorite together with HIDDEN LOVE.

These two Cdrama although with different plot were the best so far... Highly recommended to watch Hidden Love, Lighter & Princes, and When I fly towards you.

The two protagonist have great chemistry, the male lead superbly portray his character even the antagonist guy was really good.

The transition of characters from being a freshman college students, up to then post jail experience and post graduate (three years after) and up to getting back their dream L&P company.

Great plot and character build up. I love to watch the same genre.

Loved Arthur Chen!!

A refreshingly good show, I happened to see the first episode by chance while trying out different shows and got hooked immediately. The cast is young and energetic college freshmen, and their journey through life, career, relationships, betrayal and love is beautiful and quite realistic. The male and female leads looked lovely together and I'm glad the show had a happy ending. In this show, I couldn't hate anybody, the behaviours of even the negative characters seemed justified in their own way. I've seen people who remain true to their parents wishes always and become miserable adults, I'm glad our FL broke out of her mother's expectations and took decisions for herself eventually, and my heart goes out for the character of Li Xun, who, eccentric as he was in the beginning, turned out to be a genius with real emotions! I highly recommend this show!

Lighter and princess

" If Time Could Stop When We First Meet ". This are not just the lines but for me its whole my lifetime love like everything about my first love. It is the greatest green flag drama i have ever watched and setting the high standards for both men and women that first love is always special and it takes lot of great efforts to marry the first person we ever loved and in this process we need to make every moment special for that another person. Li xun and Zhu yun are the best characters i have ever watched and i have ever loved. The story line is damn great just can stop watching them again and again i hope they might be doing more projects together. Just cant desribe this entire drama within few words just greatest and best ever drama to watch . 36 episodes are just not enough to watch my wishful thinking is that i hope this drama can continue for my whole life coz this drama is not a fictional drama every moment felt real like everything around is real and the name itself tells everything and Man with a lighter and a princess who does everything to make that man a king and for that king she is the knight of his life. Name is just too good. This is my first Imbd rating review and i am writing it to describe my feelings for this drama just hoping i can see them together in future too. #1 drama of my lifetime and it will remain no 1 for the whole of my life . LI XUN and ZHU YUN - LIGHTER & PRINCESS.

The best Chinese series

I can safely say that this series is the best Chinese series I have seen. It has a very good and engaging story telling, relationships are depicted naturally and realistically, there are no awkward, exaggerated kissing or other scenes (which is usual for Asian series, where a kiss is already a big deal), it is simply depicted romantically and sensually. It is also important to mention that all the characters are unique and have different life stories, and it also realistically shows how people's lives can change after graduating from university. An important issue has been raised about the control of Chinese parents.

In summary, I could say that this series shows a consistent and realistic story of how the characters and their lives change over the years.

Arthur Chen is smoking Hot

Lighter and Princess is a drama which I finished today. I think Arthur Chen is so amazing, he has a presence which is hard to miss. The casting is good and acting is at par. The problem here is that story is good in patches.

There are moments of brilliance followed by complete idiocy for no reason. The weakest link is the main issue of his sister's death which is so childishly drawn plot and over so quickly. Despite being super intelligent, the male lead can not fathom a way to take revenge except to do it in a function with media and security. How IDIOTIC is it??? What were you thinking??

The girl is unbelievably timid for no reason. She is bending backwards to please him so much that the moments where she refuses him, make you cheer.

What was most annoying was "why was she wearing coats all the time??'' even when she is in office or her home, she is wearing long baggy coats. Earlier I though the acteress must be pregnant, but that was not the case,,, Whosoever was costume designer for female lead was pathetic. She is a young girl in college but does not wear youthful anything other than silly backpack.

While a professional, she is downright soggy and lusterless in her appearance, not at all a rich feisty foreign qualified young executive.

Last but not least, Arthur Chen is most promising, he stance, dialogue deliver, everything is on point. Beautiful and Capable.. Long way to go .. oh an smashingly HOT ;)

I want a season 2

I can't moved on to this cdrama. I wish to have a season 2 and Im looking forward on it! I really like the role of the male character and It's quite giving. He's so good and handsome. He really gives his best for the person he loved, I really love the way he stairs the girl, and i really felt in loved when they're in the room where he requested the girl to sit beside him, but the way she ignores him, makes him to prove everyone that he will do everything just to let everyone knows that he really loves her. He also a good kisser and he so caring and loving to this movie. Kindly do a season 2!!!!

Weakest female characters ever to exist and the plot has potential but that's all.

This drama started great, i liked the college set up developing into their adult/business life.

I was really into the whole intelectual war between our male lead and the antagonist trying to prove over the years who was better and which company would win, but turned out to be a disappointment.

Was never really about actual capacity but stolen intellectual property and who had more money and better lawyers.

Predictable mess where the guy fell into a trap willingly just because he fabricated some nonsense video about the female lead. This must be the weakest plot in the history of plots.

In the meantime and if you are watching this for the love story, prepare yourself for the most frustrating male dominant ML and the weakest FL in the world.

The woman spent the show between not doing what she wanted or felt because the parents controlled her life ( even as an adult) and being completely abused and mistreated by the ML, he insults her constantly, belittling her feelings and even taken her company shares from her making her believe he has an affair with another woman and he does this in the name of love ( EYEROLL) and guess what, she ALWAYS comes back for more.

And then there's the ending and resolution to the story: The second male lead AKA the villain with an inferiority complex, spends years making everyone suffering, even aiding and abetting for murder, stealing and bringing to bankruptcy a lot of small companies, even abusing his wife and blackmailing the Female lead, but suddenly he becomes a martyr and he deserves mercy and forgiveness because he is ill? I won't EVER understand this storylines on any tv show or movies.

So yeah extremely pathetic and weak female characters ( patriarchy is a big thing in China), weak plot and holes everywhere, and i mean everywhere.

I was still somehow able to watch it until the end but I would never watch it again, not worthy.

The way this show started and then flashed back to how they fell in love was so extremely toxic and annoying. Knowing he was going to be selfish from the beginning took away any interest in the beginning story. Nothing he ever did made her validated. She constantly ignored her self respect for a narcissist. I don't care how they tried to play it as his genius. This was the most annoying drama I've forced myself to watch. I only watched it because of the good review hoping it would redeem itself. Nope. Save yourself time and skip this garbage. There are so much better ones to watch. I'm mad i wasted my time on this.
