While the plot in itself had interesting elements, the sum of the whole just was a major let down. The film needed to be trimmed by about 30 minutes to be considered decent; a lot of the side story arc was just not needed in order to progress the movie. Highlighting all the issues of the country was important in order to get context but drew out excess focus which detracted from the main story.
The soundtrack for the movie was okay-ish but there were definitely more than a couple scenes where the choice of song and the length it was played for was questionable. (eg. The raid on the club where people were being arrested in slow-mo). The dialogue was sub-par especially seen in interactions with the protagonist and his wife (also cheesy much?). The final act and resolution of the film was pretty bad, all things considered.
Overall, I would've still passed this off as a decent film had it not been too lengthy but unfortunately with the added length, it made the flaws just stand out all the more.
