Akane's boyfriend dumps her for another girl and on the game event,she meets a gamer called Yamada. Yamada is socially awkward and introverted,but very sweet and kind guy. The fellow guild members are also very interesting. I love how the story has a bright and colorful animation(Madhouse,the studio that animated this anime) does shoujo very well). The in-game scenes are so cute and funny .The anime ends with Yamada and Akane confession and them becoming a couple. It will definetely make people want to read the manga. I truly love both Akane and Yamada. Overall,very sweet and cute shoujo anime.9/10.

My Love Story With Yamada At Lv999 (Spring 2023)
This romance surprised me. I wasn't a fan of this anime at the start. It looked like a shallow romance, with a desperate main character and a heartless side character. The good-looking character designs didn't help either, given that I already thought the romance was shallow.
I was wrong though. This was actually a pretty good romance. I like anime that can change my opinion about them during the season.
I really liked learning more about both these characters and seeing them fall in love with each other. Especially Yamada, I was really surprised with how I view him as a character now, compared to how I viewed him when the show began. They did it pretty subtly too. Just like Akane, I realised that if Yamada doesn't smile that much, it just makes his rare smiles have a lot more meaning. I even grew fond of Akane's character and understood why she acts the way she does.
The anime had a very unconventional style of direction, with some very fast cuts during comedic sequences. That made the anime more charming. The side characters are really sweet too. And studio Madhouse did a pretty good job on the soundtrack and the animation in particular.
Is it perfect though? Not really. I think it's just a tad bit too slow. Not very slow but just a bit slow.
Towards the end, they introduced a love triangle. Now, I'm not a fan of love triangles. Rarely do I feel that they had a point in the story. One of these characters is always going to get their heart broken. And a viewer might grow fond of the third side of the triangle and end up losing some interest in the main romance. But at the same time you can't just treat characters as tools to become obstacles in your romance. So love triangles can always be always emotionally messy, for the viewers as well.
I thought this anime handled it fine. I still didn't like witnessing a very heartfelt story of the third character, but the triangle did give a push to the main romance and the character of Yamada.
Overall, I had a good time with this anime. It's a light-hearted wholesome romance. I hope it gets a season 2 (it probably will though).

Its a very beautiful anime its cute and nice and the way they met was beautiful. I am still reading the manga and its still on going and its great i hope they will continue their beautiful relationship and to see a progress. I hope we can see also their beautiful relationship after graduation with all there friends too .I hope the manga finish soon in order to finish the anime and not waiting for a second season .This cute story reminds me of Horimiya .I like yamadas character its a beautiful anime .Thanks for making this anime and thanks for the auther Miki Yoshikawa .Its really a beautiful story.

Episodes 1-5 really kept me on my toes about what would happen with the character. It opens immediately with Ankane being dumped. She goes to an event where she knows he will be trying to dress nice and make her ex jealous of what he lost. However, things don't go according to plan and she almost embarrasses herself when she meets Yamada. She quickly begs him to pretend to be boyfriend. And thus begins their love story. There was a slow down with episodes 6-8 but it picked back up again for the last 9-13 episodes. Its pure character development and relationship building so if you want a lot of drama or surprises this isn't going to be the anime for you. For me the building of the relationship was so sweet I couldn't get enough. This is the second romance anime I have watched, the first being Horimiya, which I also adored.
A solid rom com anime.

My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 was a fun and short watch that is definitely a pleasing show. My biggest criticism is that this show show doesn't exactly do anything unique, and if you've seen a handful of romance animes already, you may feel the same. I think that's why I landed at a 7/10, but I still think its worth a watch. The characters are fun enough and you really care for what's going on, which cannot be said for other similar shows I've seen. I will say this show shares a shockingly close premise to Recovery of an MMO Junkie, which I like a little bit more than this. But regardless, I did have a good time watching this.

Until now, when it came to Japanese student romantic comedies, the characters were usually high school students. However, this work is about a woman who is a college student and a high school student who falls in love with an older man. It is a work that can be easily viewed as it has a setting that could be seen in modern times. First of all, I recommend it to those who like "My Story." The animation production company is the same and the atmosphere is similar. I do not recommend it to those who are expecting exposure, harems, etc. That doesn't happen. It's not that dramatic and it's not that much of an adult anime. The characters range from high school students to grandfathers, so you can see it as a cute story.

The story is about a girl who played a video game with her boyfriend just to one day being dumped for another girl who also played a game. The story then unfolds to her finding a new lover.
Progression: The main heroine keeps playing the video game to find another character who is an absolute weirdo but hot in real life (lets call him guy B). As fortunate as she is, she bumps into the exact same guy in real life to get closer to him and finally falling in love.
Characters: Its very ironic that the heroine, despite being shown as a considerate one is only lead by the physical attraction of guy B without every having a normal conversation. Despite the guy being incredibly boring, which the heroine says herself in the beginning, she somehow falls in love. Guy B did take care of the heroine sometimes but nothing any random person with a human mindset would do.
Conclusion: The story starts interestingly with some drama and development, while after episode 3 or so it is the same plot over and over. The monotonous story and flat character personalities make the anime really boring. I think the anime may be worth watching for someone who can resonate with guy B (i.e. A hardcore video gamer with no social skills). Otherwise I would advise not watching this as there are far better options.
