Entertaining show
T-xoo18 November 2022
Show is fun to watch. Battle royal of kinda police and robbers or wolf and sheep that kids play (or used to). The contestants are all famous or celebrities from Youtube to tv show, or music and sport. The participants are competing or rather running from "Hunters" to win a prize money. Weird to find that the prize money is a little $8-35k for famous people (I guess in Japan, celebrities aren't paid that much for their appearances or performances). Anyway, you'll find rooting for courageous candidates and wish other annoying candidates to get caught. The show is also full of suspenses. 4 episodes are easy to watch. However, I wished they didn't cut off all the funny interactions. Hope to see another season. Promising show from Netflix.

Fun To Watch, Fast Moving Game Challenge
PalmBeachG17 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Was very fun to watch game challenge where the contestants are given a chance to outrun the "HUNTERS" who are always after them while trying to complete difficult challenges at the same time in order to up the prize money, or to eliminate the numbers of the Hunters to make it easier for themselves. These Hunters are absolutely amazing; have no idea where they got these "elites" from that resemble early handsome Tom Cruise with black sunglasses, black suits, in top athletic condition with guts to do anything. The contestants chose the wrong outfits - they were mostly dressed in bright colored clothes to get the attention of cameras where they should have worn camouflage. I did notice that one smart contestant wore a natural leopard print and he did last to the last 6 mins of the game so his strategy did work. This is Japanese Game Challenge and the culture difference did show a little - the prize money that some were tapping out and taking seemed insignificant - first one took approx $13,000.00 US and they seemed to think it was alot. The final prize could have risen to.a little over 5 mil Yen which isn't that much US $ compared to $50,000.00 Great Race or.$750,000.00 Big Brother. Also when they had to "bring the balloon down" they crank it down while the first thing in my mind is to grab a rifle and shoot it down. Culture difference.

Recycled Battle Royal Formula Still Works
t-d-t-m826 February 2023
Ok it's not a new format. This is the same as Fukasku's epic Battle Royale and Fortnight and such-other 'Battle Royale' programmes. It's well-made and it's more refreshing than most TV.

It's fun to watch for just under 4 hours. The runners are immaculate and fast and have to chase the desperate contestants. Then there's various spanners thrown in to make it more interesting.

It's thoroughly enjoyable TV and I hope there's more of this even though it's a repetitive formula. I quite liked the diversity of the contestants. It could do with some older people though.

Choi Minho is the standout performer and clearly due for greater things. I'm looking up his film history and I am going to try and find his movies as he was very enduring and calm and professional.

The chemistry of the players worked very well and it made for rewarding TV. It gest a strong and commendable 8/10 from me. Great work.

Very entertaining
jasper-875133 January 2023
Over the top, but so entertaining because of that.

Good camera work, interesting participants, didnt seem to be rigged.

The clock keeps counting down without time gaps.

Sure they will have edited it a bit different than the chronological order now and then, but really feels like you're there witnessing this awesome game.

Keeps you on the edge of your seat and mixes things up regularly with interesting twists.

Sometimes teamwork is needed, sometimes you are not sure if you can trust your team.

Great game, great show.

Also loved the location!

Best game show I've ever seen
cblcblcbl23 December 2022
Very different than western game shows in all the best ways. This show keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. The cast is great and you'll quickly find yourself rooting for certain people.

Besides being completely over the top (which makes things extremely entertaining), it is very clear that the production doesn't rig the show for anyone in particular to be spared or to win, which makes things all the more interesting. The production itself is very high quality as well and I can't imagine the coordination it took to pull off an event/game show like this.

I can only recommend this show to anyone reading and I definitely hope more seasons are to come in the future.

In it for the hunters!
RezRaven3 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Who are these guys?!?! Suits, fit... LOVE IT. Hold on while I fan girl all over here. I pretty much just need a show of the hunters.

Enjoyed the show and the contestants. I wish there would have been a winner but it's alright. They really should credit the hunters somewhere though. They pretty much made the show for me.

I really enjoyed the over the top. Enjoyed the light suspense and it was entertaining. Reminded me of MST3K. I also enjoyed that it wasn't drawn out over 15 episodes or something. I recognized a few of the celebrities which is fun. I loved the setting they played in also.

One star less for no hunter credits.

unwatchable

The dialogue is so freaking annoying. As you know, contestants must run from the hunters. One guy said "if they come I'm DEFINITELY running!" Cringe. I immediately shut the show off. Only watched like 5 minutes. Reading the other reviews, I'm even more certain I made the right choice. I feel like a lot of high reviews on this are fake or I don't know what. With. Japanese game shows you can never be sure. From what I can tell, a lot of the show is fake or scripted since the Hunters don't actually try as hard as they can. Really disappointing, at least try to not make it obvious that it's fake/scripted.

Amazing!

So entertaining and fun, and I like that the narrator is using a sorta creepy voice. I really liked the missions, and it is SUPER nerve racking when you know that players are going to be found by the hunters. But why didn't they just hide in the shops? I noticed that hunters only roamed the streets. There wasn't a rule about hiding, was it? Sorry, but I think I am giving away too much. This show is super thrilling, with a lot of excitements, It is sad that nobody won, but some of my favourite people stayed on until the end. This is now my favourite tv show, and You should DEFINITELY watch this on Netflix. Looking forward for another season!

Waste of time
jgrossfl31 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
You watch a show to root for a contestant and beat the game. This show as a lot of build up for nobody to win, how boring! I watched the entire thing just to see the game win, the only people who won were the producers who got paid for this garbage. They should have at least let 1 person won at the very end. "Run for the Money" was a big letdown due to its unoriginal premise, poor character development, unsatisfying resolution, and lack of attention to detail in production. The climax of the film was also unsatisfying, and the resolution was predictable and unfulfilling. It would have been better if they spent more time on the location and graphics so the audience could track the players and hunters.

Will you run from the hunters ?
Kendalite27 December 2023
How does Netflix adapt the Japanese TV show "Tousouchuu" for international access?

The result is as follows:

  • An atmosphere that works, a little too "Squid Game" but we'll give it the excuse that it was a little in the spirit of the times.

  • An abandonment of the pre-show with the hunter setup. Everyone runs away from the start of this huge manhunt match.

  • The missions do affect the story being told, even if one in particular is counterproductive.

  • It's possible to abandon the game in the middle, as in the original, via abandonment points, but these don't seem to be very well defended.

  • It's very close to real time, just like the original show is recorded, with very few jumps, just enough to keep the narrative going.

In the end, the adaptation respects the original subject well, and the panic/epic is further enhanced by the start of the hunt at night. Let's hope the show gets another season !

Entertaining, Unfair, No winners
sperry-759922 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Waist of my time really. Nobody even won, the contestants can evade the hunters if they go around a corner twice even if they know the contestant went a certain way they won't follow that direction. Seems like they choose when to really go after a contestant or when to leave them alone. I'm not sure why they didn't just hide out during the end because the three finalists went out into the open and immediately got caught. At the end they just all went in on the last guy remaining and at the very last second he gets caught. Looked like a complete scam and I'm still confused why nobody except the one guy chose to cash out, it's like people forgot about the ability to surrender. Very anticlimactic.

Time wasting because
waqasrocky8 December 2023
It was amazing until the disaster end, it was totally time wasting because in the end no one wins it...that is why I am not going to watch season 2 and so on...

I was very much excited that some one will wins it in the end but I was so sad when I see that no ones wins the price. One more point on which I am confused that why player try to hide, I mean in the 4th episode when 20 runners were coming from the sky. They had the option to hide in the bushes, ofcourse I don't know the names of areas in the game show. But there were so many places where they can hide, infact there was a roof type in the gardens I think and it was covered with blur mirrors but no ones use it, but still bushes like it was the little jungle, it was the best place. And in the end also I don't know why Minho runs, he could remains there.

Watched with kids
DarkAdam61615 March 2023
Watched with kids, we loved it! Really great show! Huis ten Bosch is a nice place in Japan. The scenery is great, there is a lot of fun and jokes in the show. The kids were thrilled and hoped for Minho to win. All the elements for a good show are there. We are waiting for season 2 to start. Hope they will give some of the "old" players a special role like being a special hunter or something. Boss hunter for 15 minutes would be nice to see Minho and some of the others again.

It's pure entertainment and fun. There are snitches, leavers and people who go on for too long. If you just want some entertaining program without constraints this is the show to watch.
