Bad Movie with Bad Plot
iamjoseph-5151726 March 2023
As a viewer, I was extremely disappointed by the movie I recently watched. The film started off with a typical feel-good Filipino plot, which was promising at first. However, as the story progressed, the quality of the plot and the overall execution of the film deteriorated significantly.

The last part of the movie was particularly disappointing, as it seemed like the creators did not put much thought into it. It was not well-developed and lacked coherence.

As a result, I feel like I wasted two hours of my life watching this film. I regret investing my time and energy into something that did not live up to my expectations. Therefore, I would not recommend anyone to watch this movie.

Mid Tier

I watched this movie for free in Netlix, and I'm so glad that it was free because I wouldn't pay a single dime to watch. In my opinion, the dialogue was pretty cheap and the actors were done dirty by choosing cuts that made their acting horrible.

The film started of as a MID movie with MID plot, and I continued watching, but the ending was NOT THOUGHT OF. If you're looking for a movie with the purpose of playing it in the background of a dentist's office, I would recommend this one. It's a mid movie, and it doesn't have an impact on society.

If you're looking for good movies, I recommend Seven Sundays or anything better than this one.

A waste of time
tbhreviews5 April 2023
One star is considerably generous for this mediocre movie. If only I could get back the hours of my life spent watching this movie!

A child could have written better dialogue and plot points for this film. There was no character development nor did the ending tied any loose ends. The ending left a bitter taste in my mouth as the problems remain unresolved. It was concluded in the most laziest way, that I'm in shock they would waste a decent budget on a plot like this.

The purpose of this movie is pointless, and can only be redeemed as background noise. The film showcased toxic masculinity and machismo and left it at that. The ending made absolutely no sense and is unrealistic. Although the movie is unsurprisingly cliché, it's not a feel good movie but the type of movie that would leave you frustrated.

There was also no room for the actors to shine in this film. Jodi Sta. Maria was pleasant to watch, but the plot was so bad it was painful to get through the movie. Her chemistry with Coco Martin feels forced, with frequent cheap "kilig" shots that is super cringe. I'd only recommend watching this film if you had to choose this or to shoot yourself on the foot.

Cute Romance
PalmBeachG1 April 2023
This was a cute romance and you can learn a little bit at the same time about the plight of coming to the US from another country - in this case from the Philippines to the US. The rich heiress dumps her cheating fiance ( that her father loves because his family is in the business too), goes back to the Philippines and reunites with a childhood friend to get away for 2 Weeks. The friend takes her with to a bachelorette party where the ML is a stripper and gives the FL all kinds of attention since she got cheated on. More sexy cute things happen in the 2 week period when the FL gets called home by her demanding father to fix things. They already have feelings for ea other and the real story begins there. Fun light romantic and comedic in parts as well as sad as he struggles to make it work. Ending could have been better.

Good intro to challenges rich/poor Filipinos experience
Mauilifeforme3 December 2023
Yes, it's a schmalzy romance; quirky, cheesy, and at times awkward.

That said, I enjoyed seeing my mature province Filipina partner stay up late and enjoy a Tagalog language movie she could relate to through her own life experiences.

Romance movies in any language are meant to be escapism from daily lives.

This one does that.

Plot line is predictable, including the ending.

Enjoy it with an older Filipino friend and read the sub-titles while the lilt of Tagalog and actor's smiles carry through the less than perfect technical moments critics love to cite as failings.

Romance still wins in the end.

Uncertainty towards the end for the characters
johnerickmrubis3 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It's the typical Filipino romantic comedy movie that has the wonderful yet corny/ cheesy elements. But what really got me was the ending. I wonder what happens next for the male/ female leads. Because there doesn't seem to be any solutions right after the problems they just had. They were just hurting each other emotionally. I guess we the viewers can safely assume she marries him for good and stays in the Philippines. And if they are to reside in America, he needs a lot of help to adjust. It's unfortunate he didn't get it in this movie. Not from her and his relatives in California. He was clueless and unintentionally did something wrong while performing his job duties. Good movie, but it could've been better towards the end.
