Christian, but drama class directed
chipsdipsanddorks9 January 2021
So the skinny is this, the NWO has taken over, you must get the mark of the NWO or be killed. It could have been done in about 15 minutes minutes, but they stretched it out. They found about 30 people from the church to work for free in exchange to be in the movie. Then each one of those probably worked on the set while Jimmy held a camera and Davey held their lines up on a board. I'm not against Christian based movies, but this was not even usable for a church group or youth meeting. And of course the disclaimer...thank goodness they told me at the end of all the credits, that all names, places and the story are fictitious.......whew!

Correction from misleading review
albundy-318192 March 2022
One reviewer writes: "Christians are already persecuted in many countries but this will spread to the Western world because of the all-in-one religion promoted by the UN where almost all religions (Catholics, Judaism, Hindus, Moslim, Buddha) are represented excluding the Christians."

The only ORIGINAL Christians are of the Catholic Church., THE CHURCH CREATED BY GOD HIMSELF. ALL OTHER churches are man-made. Your bigotry and hate against God and his one, true Church is misleading.

Over-simplified interpretation of the Tribulation
kirschs28 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It was an okay movie but I think it over-simplified the Tribulation, either as an attempt to make it more understandable or just a bad interpretation of Revelation.

I cannot let this go without pointing out my issues with it in the hopes their next attempt is better.

Warning: Spoilers!

1) I don't think kids will have the mark. A five year-old is not going to understand it.

2) The mark is going to be far more sinister than a bad techno-club admission stamp.

3) The anti-Christ's followers and administrators are not going to be so obviously evil. They are in reality going to be nicer to you than some people with whom you go to church. Satan is all about deception and false beauty.

4) The plot twists at the end make absolutely NO SENSE. Without giving away too much, the very last twist, given all that has happened, I think was thrown in just for a cheap shock. I genuinely felt cheated. I changed the ending in my head, it was so messed up.

If you have an hour and a half free or need something for background noise, it's fine. I wouldn't choose it for family movie night.

Could have been interesting, does everything wrong
YeastOfEden11 February 2016
Lately, I've been on a "bad Christian movie" kick, and when I watched "New World Order" on Amazon Prime, it managed to crouch even lower than my expectations. While I was expecting this film to have a low budget, it appears that this movie was not only funded by one married couple, Duane and Antoinette McCoy, but also directed and written by them. And this pair, while clearly knowing nothing about filmmaking, decided to make their own Hunger-Games-Divergent-Maze-Runner-esque dystopia while giving it a Biblical spin. Some great films were made on a low budget, but those at least relied on a decent story or interesting characters to make up for their absence of visual grandeur. This film has almost no good qualities to fill the empty void of boring visuals.

The actual Book of Revelations is very interesting. It can be interpreted allegorically in a thousand different ways, and contains some epic, almost psychedelic imagery if taken literally. If you read some verses, it sounds like a great film premise, and could lead to all sorts of creative license. But this movie contains only the bare minimum of what you'd expect: the Beast from the Sea is actually an evil dictator, he demands everyone get a tattoo to buy goods, nations form an alliance to worship him, so on and so forth. The McCoys have probably never heard the valuable phrase "show, don't tell". They squeeze out their exposition in dialogic tidbits as the story progresses, assuming that their tiny budget gives them an excuse not to show some creativity in how they flesh out their world. Indeed, their futuristic dystopia seems to look EXACTLY like our world. Now, this could lead to some interesting commentary that we are living in that world right now. While that seems a bit doom-and-gloom, it's a clever way to get around those budget constraints. But this movie's society is nothing like ours: there's a Supreme Chancellor that rules over the entire population (which seems to be about 20) and he forces everyone to get decal tattoos of some zigzaggy circular nonsense under penalty of death.

Our heroine is a well-endowed girl named Demi, played by Melissa Farley, who wears tight-fitting grey tops to make up for her total absence of personality. Curious that the Christian version of Katniss is more sexualized than Katniss herself. She gets a love interest named Jason, and with her friends Christen and Cedric, forms one of those friend groups that never happen in real life but seem to be "in" after the success of Harry Potter. There isn't enough chemistry between them to fill a thimble. Our female leads spend half the movie playing with their already-outdated phones (Because we need to relate to the young crowd! So let's show teens calling each other rather than diving into their emotional state!) and the other half whining and crying. The girls in this movie are annoyingly submissive, and they always end up an emotional wreck that runs to their man for comfort. Kevin Herrmann as the unnamed villain is at least enjoyably awkward, and one of the only bits of entertainment I salvaged from this film was seeing him walk onto the screen and not even pretending to know what he's doing. The only other bit of entertainment I got was one mid-sentence death scene later in the film, which was so abrupt and poorly acted that I burst out laughing.

The other user reviews criticize this film for taking the Bible too literally and being too Christian. Honestly, it isn't even that religious. They barely even mention Jesus or God, maybe twice or thrice in the entire film. It's never addressed that accepting the Mark means conscious worship of the Devil; the characters just sort of don't like it. They even misquote the Bible at one point: the Beast that emerges to rule the Earth has ten horns, not two. If you're going to make a film about crazy religious doomsday prophecies, at least get them right! Of course, they eventually go for the generic "band of freedom fighters" route. As if dividing society into five factions wasn't silly enough, now we've got Jesus-loving Merry Men fighting against the evil Satanic government. This film has a high death toll, obviously to make it dark and edgy like Hunger Games, but since you don't care about any of the characters, the viewer is left emotionless.

I wasn't expecting much out of "New World Order", but I wasn't expecting it to fall below student film level. In the realms of acting, cinematography, dialogue, and pure storytelling, this movie fails badly. I save the one-star rating for films that fill me with disgust and loathing, and it wasn't able to do even that. I'm open to its premise, but it only trudges along through its clichés, boring the audience and the cast, without the courage to explore any of its ideas on a deeper level.

Oh heavens NO!

I don't generally take the time to comment and rate movies (although I should), but this is the WORST acting I have ever witnessed! I even give benefit of the doubt because I'm sure it's hard doing this work, but for the love of Mary, this wasn't even funny!

Poorly told story
pinkbows-7320618 April 2020
Looking back and thinking about the movie, nothing much really happened at all. Everything was basically a plot device to quickly move the characters to the end with no depth or explanation. We're told little bits of plot that are never explained, and they didn't bother to conclude the story, just ended it. We never even got to see the main "villain".

Kind of a shame as it had some neat elements, cults are a hard thing to make boring, but they managed.

I love bad Christian movies, but this was too bad to even be amusing really. Don't recommend.

Bad
bilejo19 May 2014
Warning: Spoilers
In my opinion it has poor acting, poor musical score/effects and its a sorry attempt at trying to interpret Biblical story lines. I cannot believe that it is likely that the events as described in the Bible will ever unfold so brazenly as depicted in this account. Such would have to be more clandestine or everyone would know what is actually happening...and that would defeat the very strategy and tactics necessary for success of the long ago 'prophesied' evil!

Perhaps a well meaning message was intended to be conveyed but there comes a time when people have to stop taking the apocrypha so literal. Scholars and theologians have never been able to make accurate interpretations of Revelation and probably never will.

The Book of Revelation is the "Revelation of "Jesus Christ" and that one point needs to be remembered, otherwise well meaning individuals may do more harm than good in respect to leading people to the awareness needed as the Epistles of Paul so cunningly explain to those 'who have ears to hear'.

I give it a one star rating and I take note that the "McCoy" name is repeatedly in the initial credits to the point of boredom - to even include the aforementioned music. Could vanity enter into the presentation of the credits? To me this repetition just means McCoy must take the bulk of the credit for what I think is a pitiful production.

Yeah, the tween perspective on Christianity will win over new followers.
mark.waltz25 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A group of Christians, being hauled off for execution for not accepting the new world order, labeled as traitors, are threatened with death unless they accept the mark. Through flashbacks interwoven through their horrific situation, the audience learns quickly of scattered events that all of a sudden lead to the order that all citizens must report to get the mark.

The story focuses on two young girls, devout Christians (but not devout enough to remain quiet in church) who refuse the mark even though their Christian families out of fear get them. It's obvious where this is going, and certainly while the fear of what may happen is real, this is fear mongering at its most manipulative, not sharing details or warnings, just slam, bam, get the mark or else.

At least in the "Left Behind" series of books, the writers set up the story prior to the rapture, while this just tosses the terror right out there. The look of fear on the mother's face as she betrays her beliefs through cowardice does seem real, although her husband lies about their daughter living with them. But after they get the mark, their entire demeanors change.

Disturbing images like showing happy children with the mark and seeing the suspicious looks of people with marks eyeing them is another set-up for paranoia to upset a vulnerable viewer and doesn't seem to aide the Christian message of strength in a time of crisis. The eerie manner in which lines are spoken, particularly by the officious new world order leaders, is also creepy and threatening.

So we're shown how someone on the verge of death decides at the last minute to convert to worship and two reporters without the mark basically threatened by their boss right after new laws are passed. It's then that this becomes frantically paced and suddenly violent. This film is set up to make the viewer rather nervous and even nauseous as it gets increasingly sinister.

On an entertainment level, it is non-existent and on a religious level, so one dimensionally sided on its views (with a married couple having had no film experience pretty much doing everything as if they were the Christian extremist Orson Welles) and having an antichrist that looks like Michael Jackson makes another judgment. I see no value in any modern religious leader in presenting their ideals as all encompassing, especially when the source they use completely fails.

One for the ages
blackroc-038882 October 2021
Who are these people and why do they hate cinema?

This is stink for ages. I love bad movies, but this is in a hell of its own. This is so far beyond just bad it's approaching the outermost bands of the crap galaxy.

What a senseless waste....

(I gave it a 1. They did at least get this atrocity lasered onto a card. I guess that's something.)

Fiction from Reality?
mandyvs-872147 July 2021
A movie about the rapture and the apocalypse, this one will leave you guessing what is reality and what is fiction. It's splendidly unsettling and intense throughout.

Great idea but execution needs work
laronaustin20 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I just got done watching the film and thought it was an interesting story. I' believe revelations is a subject matter that if done right could be poignant . I know personally that it's extremely difficult to get a FEATURE film made, especially on a diminutive budget. You are faced to go through the gauntlet of people that criticizing your work, who are ignorant to to the battle of making a film. It can be a cruel world so you better have thick skin!

With that said, some reviewers criticize the filmmaker for taking the Bible too literally. I totally disagree, because it's up to the filmmaker to visualize and create a world from his or hers interpretation. It's like saying the sky is blue, depending of you are in a different region the sky maybe orange or black. It's subjective. It's not fair to say the filmmaker took revelations too literally when Christian films like Passion of the Christ and The Last Temptation of Christ follow the Bible story closely. (Not saying this film is in the same league) I'm merely using these as examples to say the filmmaker is the impetus of the story telling process.

My issue with the film is that mise en scene was executed poorly. The film elements did not complete a fluid story. I feel the characters needed to drive the story plot and help give forward momentum. It seemed like the actors where lost on screen and needed to be guided. I didn't feel any emotion or connections to the character nor did I feel like they had motivation or an super objective. The Cinematography did not help the story and at time was distracting and felt unmotivated. The story was paint by numbers and was missing life. The script should always be the blueprint before building the house. One of the reviewers mentioned that the filmmaker name was all on the credits. This should never happen, even if you are forced to do everything yourself on set( which it happens on indie films) never have your name take up 70 percent of the crew jobs. It can come across as hubris.

Again I know it's challenging being a filmmaker and you will fail a tone of times especially this probably being the filmmakers first film. Keep making films and never give up. This should be a project that the filmmaker grows and learn from. Learn from the mistakes and make a better film next time. He got the film made so I'm not going to straight up bash the film and encourage negativity but give constructive criticism. Hope his next film It's a better.

There are several other movies about the Tribulation. Watch one of those
martin-beks25 January 2024
I don't know where to start. The poor script, mediocre acting, unnecessary scenes and twists that only made the movie longer? Plus the worst twist of all, when our main character changes her mind at the end, after a bit of character growth, ruining any arc she might have had. Plus, aside from a few mentions of God, there wasn't any actual information about the end times, except that everyone will be required to take the mark. There is a lot more to it than that, and not filling in that information did this film a massive disservice. If they'd included it, it could have been an interesting movie.

A lot of writers and filmmakers workshop ideas with other people. They share a script with several different people, allow others to point out questions or concerns. They should have done that with this movie.

A modern, thought-provoking look into a terrifying future (Contains SPOILERS)
LionessDeWinter22 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I love indie films. They always have a lot of heart, and the filmmakers are more open to trying new methods to get their message across. If you're looking for a film with over-the-top special effects or a ton of heavy-handed witnessing, this may not be the film for you. However, the subtlety works in this case. It allows the viewer to ponder the questions of faith within, rather than having every little thing spoon fed to them. I appreciated the more modern take on things. I could easily see this happening in today's world.

Most of the film follows Demi and Christen, after they've been arrested for refusing to take the mark of the New World Order.

I humbly disagree with some of my fellow reviewers; the acting ability of the cast members was excellent. As I've mentioned before, the subtlety was refreshing. The two young ladies were amazing, as were the actors who played Demi's parents. I could FEEL her mother's fear at the marking facility! I also enjoyed the Supreme Chancellor and the NWO official. The latter reminds me of another one of my favorite actors, Chad Donella. Man, he was GOOD! The evil glint in his eye--yikes!

***SPOILERS*** The twist at the end left me breathless and sobbing... Not everyone will be strong when faced with the ultimate choice. The last walk of one of the lead characters was very emotional for me. That had to be one of the scariest-looking guillotines that I've ever seen; it reminded me of the guillotines used for mice, rabbits and guinea pigs in medical school, rather than the traditional design. It gave me quite a turn, as did the NWO official, who snarled at her, "Do you think that this is NOBLE? We've all had to make sacrifices." The camera angle from the doomed girl's point of view was genius. It was terrifying!

All in all, New World Order: The End Has Come is a powerful film that urges a secular person think twice--and a Christian to reexamine their relationship with God.

Awesome movie!!!!
arnoldfamilyempire9 May 2022
This movie is phenomenal! It prepares you for the reality of what happens when you are left behind. Anyone who doesn't like this is clearly not in tune with what's happening in the world or in the Bible! I love that it teaches you that it's all about the heart not what's spoken! It's a staple in my home. Accept Christ today! This is only a glimpse as to what's to come! Everything about this movie was phenomenal! Must watch!!!

Sponsored by the New World Order aka worshippers of the Beast
Devi401 November 2020
To watch this movie in October 2020 is like having a bad trip. This movie pretty much outlines the direction we are going, yes all of us. A few facts:
  • Christians are already persecuted in many countries but this will spread to the Western world because of the all-in-one religion promoted by the UN where almost all religions (Catholics, Judaism, Hindus, Moslim, Buddha) are represented excluding the Christians.
  • The anti-Christ or fake Christ will be wounded but healed and will show miracles. People without Christ will accept him. He is a direct representation of Satan.
  • The fake Christ will come from the Eastern part of the world. People will adore him.

The NWO like to perform predictive programming on us, so we can be programmed. I am aware of their tactics, you should at least have an idea of this concept to prevent that you become a slave of their ideas. Read your Bible, pray to our Father in heaven and do this in the name of Jesus Christ. We need Jesus Christ.

Also, God is in control don't ever forget that. Jesus Christ wins in the end, read Revelation in the Bible.

God bless!

Remember that you're watching a Faith film and not a big Hollywood production and go from there. This is a good movie if you want to watch a NWO film made by true Christians. I give it all the stars. Well done. Keep on spreading Truth!!

I loved this movie, it feels so relevant today and the times we are now living in! Thought the acting was really good. Loved erin runbeck. I cannot see she done any acting further, which is a shame as I thought her character was really good. Great actress! Absolutely gorgeous too. Loved the story line and all the cast. Great performance from everyone.

Pay attention to this MOVIE during pandemic
smhcgdkke16 February 2021
This movie is fabulous. It is a foreshadowing of what is going on right now in the world. The coronavirus vaccine is indeed the mark of the beast. And soon they will require that people receive physical marks on their foreheads and right hands to authenticate having received the vaccine. Already masks are required to buy and sell. And soon they'll require the RNA vaccines to buy and sell. Also the RNA vaccines change the recipient's cellular structure to be in the image of the coronavirus. And anyone who receives the RNA coronavirus vaccines have sold their souls to the devil for eternity and are going to hell for eternity. This movie foreshadows everything that's happening right now. So if you wanna understand what's going on with the pandemic, watch this movie. Also one of things I learned from this movie is that you have to believe Jesus Christ to give you the strength to resist the mark of the beast coronavirus vaccine. You won't be able to resist it any other way. Watch the movie. And I've watched it several times.
