“He screwed us all”: Brad Pitt Knows Who Is to Be Blamed for the Hollywood Trend of Getting in Shape and That’s Surprisingly Not Sylvester Stallone
Image
Brad Pitt didn’t hold back, and surprisingly, it wasn’t Sylvester Stallone he blamed for Hollywood’s obsession with ripped bodies. While most people credited (or blamed) Sly for turning actors into gym rats, Pitt pointed fingers in a totally unexpected direction.

Ever since this unnamed trendsetter set things in motion, it had been six-packs and bicep curls for anyone wanting to land a major role. And Pitt knew how wild it had gotten.

Brad Pitt dished on Hollywood’s fitness craze during the 2004 Troy press tour. Playing the Og warrior Achilles meant hitting the gym like never before. But Pitt has one man to thank, or blame, for the ripped standards: Robert De Niro.

10 Best Sitcom Crossover Episodes Of All Time, Ranked
Image
Executing a successful sitcom crossover requires a unique story that brings out the best in both sets of characters. Not all crossover episodes live up to the hype, as comedy styles may not blend seamlessly across unrelated shows. Connections between shows, whether through creators or actors, can help ensure a crossover doesn't feel like too much of a gimmick.

Sitcom crossovers are an odd TV tradition, bringing together characters from unrelated shows for new and unique stories. If they are executed poorly, crossover episodes can add up to little more than cheap marketing exercises for their shows, but there have been plenty of sitcom crossovers that have struck upon a winning formula. Often, the key is to create a story which brings the best out of both sets of characters.

Crossover episodes are often among the most highly anticipated episodes of any show, but they don't always live up to these expectations.

1923 Season 2 Filming Update Seemingly Confirms Location Change After Losing Montana Set
Image
1923 season 2 will move production to Texas, leaving behind the Montana set where much of season 1 was filmed. The change is seemingly due to more favorable tax incentives in Texas and follows the loss of a key sound stage location last summer. The state of Montana has been crucial to the larger Yellowstone universe.

1923 season 2 will leave Montana and shoot in a new location, according to a new report. Serving as a prequel to Yellowstone and a sequel to 1883, 1923 follows Jacob and Cara Dutton as they navigate life at their ranch in Montana following World War I. After the Taylor Sheridan show earned positive reviews and was a viewership hit, 1923 season 2 was confirmed in February 2023. Last summer it was reported that season 2 had lost its Butte Civic Center sound stage due to delays from the dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Now, a new report from Austin Business Journal...

“I’ve been looking at that scene a lot”: Grand Tour’s Jeremy Clarkson Might Be Too Inspired by Kevin Costner’s Ruthless Yellowstone Character That Sounds Very Concerning

Kevin Costner’s Yellowstone is one of the prestige titles on Paramount+, and the series has been received positively by audiences. The series’ main lead, John Dutton, is a man of honor and dignity who will go to any length to protect his Yellowstone range and preserve the Dutton family legacy.

‘Yellowstone’ and ‘The Godfather’ Have More in Common Than You Think
Image
Before Taylor Sheridan's epic drama Yellowstone hit the Paramount network, it was initially scripted as a movie and pitched as "The Godfather in Montana." Sheridan was actually in talks with HBO to make Yellowstone into a series. When Sheridan realized the production team wasn't supportive of a modern Western, saying it wasn't trendy enough, the show was almost dead in the water. HBO typically retains the rights to all scripts it develops or rejects, but upon leaving HBO, then-programming president Michael Lombardo gave the script back to Sheridan.

The Top 13 Highest-Grossing Concert Films of All Time
Image
“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” made a surprise appearance on the theatrical release calendar this October and has already become the second-highest grossing concert documentary ever, drawing in fans who wanted to re-experience her Eras Tour in movie form and those who weren’t able to catch this summer’s concert. But while “The Eras Tour” movie still isn’t the top music doc (yet), it’s something of an outlier when it comes to just how much it’s made at the box office — $178 million and counting.

Several other big-name musicians and bands have released documentaries about their tours or certain albums, but the only ones to come close to the success of “The Eras Tour” include Michael Jackson and Justin Bieber, so far. Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” tour documentary, slated for a Dec. 1 release, could further shake up the stats and the box office.

Below we’ve rounded up...

As Halloween looms, here are the most Googled horror movies, state by state
Image
With Halloween now just days away, America’s thoughts turn increasingly to witches, demons, the paranormal and scaring the heck out of ourselves. And of course, few things accomplish this goal better than horror movies, a genre the United States has largely claimed as its own. To get everyone in the spirit, the website bank-locations.net launched a state-by-state study of Google to discern (based on searches) which Halloween-themed flicks were most popular in each state of the union.

To generate its conclusions, the research team analyzed 200+ top-rated horror films from IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, then studied specific searches for each movie. For example, for “The Shining,” they gathered keywords like “watch the shining,” “the shining full movie,” “”the shining streaming, “The shining netflix” and “where to watch the shining.”

Horror movies were split into two groups: those before 2000 and those after. More than half of the states (27) preferred Googling...

Yellowstone’s Effect on Tourism Gets Mixed Reactions from Montana Residents
Image
The TV show Yellowstone has brought a surge in tourism to Montana, but some locals feel it perpetuates misconceptions about ranching and the state's climate. Tourism due to the show's fame has led to an economic boost, with millions of visitors spending $730 million in Montana in 2021. Montana residents hope that visitors will appreciate the genuine aspects of the state beyond the show's portrayal and recognize the nuanced realities of life in Big Sky Country.

The TV show Yellowstone has been showcasing Montana's breathtaking vistas since its first episode in 2018. But does the show truly reflect the lives of Montanans, especially its ranchers? The local populace has shared their thoughts, and they're not what you might expect. When a TV series gains widespread popularity, it can offer its filming locations a surge in tourism, but sometimes at the cost of perpetuating misconceptions.

Co-created by Taylor Sheridan, Yellowstone dives into the tumultuous lives of the Dutton family,...

"Given Our Ranchers A Bad Name": Yellowstone's Impact On Montana Boom Gets Candid Response From Residents
Image
Yellowstone has significantly boosted Montana's tourism industry, with 2 million people visiting the state in 2021 because of the show, spending $730 million. However, Yellowstone has also led to misconceptions about Montana, as the show's portrayal of ranching as the Wild West doesn't accurately reflect modern ranching in the state. Residents have mixed feelings about Yellowstone's impact, with some appreciating the prosperity it brings but others feeling that it has given ranchers a bad name.

Yellowstone's impact on the state of Montana receives a candid response from real residents who claim the show has given their ranchers "a bad name." Co-created by Taylor Sheridan and premiered in 2018, Yellowstone primarily follows the fictional Dutton family, who own and operate the largest ranch located in the state of Montana. The show follows family conflicts at the ranch, but also bloody conflicts that break out between the bordering Broken Rock Indian Reservation and outside land developers.

‘Montana Story’ Is the Anti-‘Yellowstone.’ That’s a Good Thing
Image
Say “Montana” to anyone currently consuming a well-balanced media diet, and they’re likely to immediately think of Yellowstone, the unbelievably popular Dynasty-for-cowboys TV show that takes place in the “Treasure State.” Taylor Sheridan’s modern-day Western doesn’t have a lock on contemporary narratives in the region, to be sure, but it does cast a slightly odd shadow over the similarly looming landscapes of Scott McGehee and David Siegel’s Montana Story. They even have a handful of coincidentally similar aspects in common: Both have ill fathers at their centers,...

‘Bizarre World of Frank Zappa’ Hologram Tour Not So Bizarre After All
The words “hologram tour” conjure images of a cold, dystopian future. Video of the Japanese concert sensation Hatsune Miku looks a bit like a scene from Blade Runner 2049. The Tupac hologram is still surreal. And the technology could give Kiss the ability to launch final tours in every city every night into infinity, should they adopt it. One artist whom the practice makes complete sense for, though, is Frank Zappa. A few years before he died, he wrote in his autobiography that he would love to roll out what...

Oscar-Shortlisted Documentary ‘Dark Money’ Lands Support From U.S. Senator
Senator Jon Tester is far more likely to appear in the halls of Congress than the corridors of CAA. But the Montana Democrat came to the venerable talent agency earlier this week—not seeking representation, but to represent.

Tester turned out in support of the Oscar-shortlisted documentary Dark Money at a CAA screening that drew a standing room-only crowd. The film directed by Kimberly Reed, a fellow Montanan, investigates the pernicious role of untraceable cash flooding U.S. elections. The subject is an important one to Tester, who just won re-election to a third term in a very tight race that attracted loads of anonymous spending.

“I can’t tell you how many dollars of dark money came into my state yet,” he told the audience during a Q&A. “And we may never know how many dollars came into the state. If it was for me or against me,...

Their fave love story and anyone in the movies they’ve crush on. Give them so ‘Follows’!

Daniel Armando – (Filmmaker) What It Was

Worst Valentine's date: There's a Valentine's date I remember and it wasn't because it was a bad date, but because it was a realization I had. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and the stroll through the park was lovely. It was the ideal perfect Valentine's date, but I was slowly realizing that it was with someone who didn't feel the same way I did. I felt bad because I wish I had spent it with someone who did feel the same way and who I truly loved. A romantic film that comes to mind is Forrest Gump. The love that Forrest had for Jenny is amazingly beautiful. Through all the excitement, confusion, and chaos that surrounded his life the one thing he was sure about was his calm, simple, and never-ending love for Jenny. He's not a smart man, but he knows what love is.

Douglas Spain – (Producer/Actor) North By El Norte

My favorite cinematic love story is 'The Terminator'. Yes, it's an amazing Sci-Fi/Action film but at the core it's a love story: A man travels back in time to save the woman he fell in love with via a photo that was given to him by his unbeknownst son. His future was 2029, which isn't too far away and interestingly enough, people nowadays fall in love via photos on Instagram. If a man traveled back in time to be with me you can bet I would never terminate that relationship. Lol. I did try online dating once and the guy was not the same from the pictures on his profile. After some small talk, I said to him, "I'll be back." But unlike The Terminator, I didn't come back. Instead I hauled ass out of there.

Jessica Molina – (Host/Producer) Daily Dos

Years ago I went out with this fella who tried to impress me with money – never a good idea. He picked me up in (his sister’s) Range Rover. He was in med school and broke down how much money he was going to make each year following his graduation. Dude pretty much talked about himself the whole date. To top it off, based on his suggestion, we went to a restaurant but he barely ate because he’d already eaten. Nothing a girl loves more than to be stuffing her face alone on a first date! The conversation was lacking, but I do remember the food was delicious! I don’t have a favorite love story that comes to mind; I just love ‘love.’ I love seeing my friends in love – love seeing them honored and appreciated. So those are my favorite love stories the ones in which the people I care for most are receiving the absolute best.

Noah played by Ryan Gosling in The Notebook. Say what you want, but I love that movie! Here’s a man who was fun, kind, passionate, crafty, and insanely loyal. (And very easy on the eyes!)

Laura Gomez (Filmmaker/Actress) Orange Is The New Black

Not so much "bad date," more like no chemistry date. I didn't necessarily go to a breakup album, but rather to specific songs that reminded me of the person and would ironically make me feel even more nostalgic. Cuando Te Beso, Juan Luis Guerra, Negra Murguera, from Argentine band Bersuit Vergarabat, lots of Concha Buika and Amy Winehouse (just 'cause) and old School Mecano. Mecano has a song about "how hard it's to forget him"... I must have listened to that song thousands of times.

The Bridges of Madison County is definitely one my favorite romantic films of all times, and you need some serious ice cream eating at that scene where Francesca (the luminous Meryl Streep) holds the door knob and is fighting not to open it as Clint Eastwood places the necklace with the cross on the mirror. Ufff, I always cry with that scene.

Some of my film crushes are Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Benicio del Toro and Edgar Ramirez. I guess it's a combination of looks and their raw talent. Absolute best.

Elise DuRant (Filmmaker) Eden

I have some favorite love story moments. One of them is in Tim Burton’s Ed Wood, when he goes on a first date with Kathy played by Patricia Arquette. They're in this little car in the Spook House when in the middle of the ride, the lights go out. As they wait, in that silence, he turns to her and tells her that he likes to dress as a woman, wear women’s sweaters and undergarments. She's a little confused. She asks him if that means he doesn’t like sex with women. “No!” he tells her, he loves sex with women. She takes it in, and after a moment she acceptingly says, “Okay.” The lights go on, the ride starts up again, and they continue through the Spook House. It’s such a sweet moment of acceptance, the permission to be who we are. It’s so sweet and simple and so elegantly done.

Worst date: It was a first date and after he kissed me -- a sweet kiss -- he told me he was trying to kick heroin.

Celebrity crush: On this Valentine's I would have to choose Warren Oates. Tell me if you -- man or woman -- don't have a crush on him after seeing him in The Wild Bunch, Badlands, Cockfighter, and Two-Lane Blacktop.

Vivian Lamolli (Actress) East Los High

Hmm this is kind of a hard one because I've always managed somehow to not have a love interest on Cupid's Day of Love! But I guess I would have to go with 8th grade, a boy named Michael gave me an empty heart box :(...he had eaten all the chocolates!!!

A very particular breakup had me crushed around the holidays, and when Kelly Clarkson came out with her album My December I couldn't put it down. I realized that she was going through a really difficult breakup as well when she wrote the beautiful songs and it made me even closer to the words. Kelly, you helped me see the light girl!!!

Oooo there are just too many crushes I can't decide!!! But, forever and always Mr. Justin Timberlake will stand the test of time for me. I mean, what can't he do?? I tend to have talent crushes often and Justin's voice, dance skills, wit, and obvious gorgeous looks...well, damn God must have spent a little more time on you Jt!! Haha. Loving him since those *Nsync platinum blonde hair days, congratulations to little miss Jessica Biel!!

Veronica Valencia (Actress) The Other Barrio

I don't think I've been on a really bad date on Valentine's, I've just been alone which is bad enough lol.... But the worst date?? This was a first date. I think he was really trying to impress me but was saying all the wrong things. All he talked about was material things. Like how he had a speed boat, Mercedes, etc... He went on to talk about how much money he made the previous year and how the current year he was going to surpass that amount. Maybe for most women they would've been impressed but I never returned his call or text again. Celebrity crush? ...Brad Pitt! Ever since I watched Legends of the Fall and A River Runs Through It I fell in love with the state of Montana. In fact, the main reason why I started dating my current boyfriend was because he was born and raised from Montana. So, I have to give Brad Pitt the credit there, Lol! I absolutely love nature. I love hiking and camping...Someday, Montana will be my home.

Revenge Has a new Name in First Trailer for British Actioner 'Montana'
Typically, in movies with this particular kind of mentor/mentee narrative, the black man is often the mentor (think Morgan Freeman), as in the old sage who trains or imparts his profound wisdom on the younger mentee, who's usually played by a white actor. In the upcoming thriller "Montana," British director Mo Ali’s second feature, the script is flipped, so to speak. It stars Lars Mikkelsen, Michelle Fairley, Adam Deacon, Ashley Walters and newcomer McKell David, who made a brief appearance in last year's award-winning British drama "My Brother the Devil." Synopsis: On the mean streets of London's East End, fourteen-year old Montana (McKell David)...

Meet the cast of Legacy
Back in July last year a nationwide casting call was launched to find some new talent for Legacy, a new film from Unstoppable Entertainment and Think Big Productions.

Exec Produced by Noel Clarke (4.3.2.1, The Anomaly) and Jason Maza (The Knot, The Hooligan Factory) Legacy tells the story of five teenagers and the ultimate party of the year.

After auditioning hundreds of girls with no previous professional experience, Amy Tyger from Manchester won the lead female role of Dani. 21 year old Amy is now represented by Cole Kitchenn.

Dani is strong willed, fierce, aggressive yet still lovable, she is protective and more than a match for the groups’ machismo. She’s an attractive tomboy with deep-rooted femininity issues exacerbated by her elder sister Yasmin.

21 year old Franz Drameh (represented by Hamilton Hodell) plays Sean, the unspoken leader of the group.

Franz starred in Attack The Block, and he also plays Brandon...

'Sherlock': Meet season 3 villain Lars Mikkelsen
Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock (2010)
When Sherlock cocreator Steven Moffat was prepping the third season of his beloved British sleuth show he planned on having an American actor play a new villain called Charles Augustus Milverton, based on a character of the same name from one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s original tales. So how come fans will actually see Danish actor Lars Mikkelsen (a star of the original version of the The Killing and brother of Hannibal actor Mads) play a character called Charles Augustus Magnussen when the new season premieres on PBS this Sunday?

“I wanted him not to be British and...

Exclusive Stills From Brit Action Flick Montana
In recent years London’s Shoreditch area has been spruced up rather a lot. The former factories and warehouses that were once abandoned and left to run down have found a new life as trendy shops, cafes bars and restaurants. It would seem, however, that the Montana production team have found one that’s been left to rot.

As we wander around the loft space that’s being used for the day’s filming, it’s impossible to tell which bits of twisted metal are set dressing, and which are going to give us tetanus. We make sure not to touch anything, just to be safe.

“I come from a music video background, so anything visual has to stand out to make sense,” director Mo Ali explains, “I’m avoiding doing the whole council estate aesthetic; it’s almost slightly fantastical locations, but they suit the characters.”

Montana – the story of a young boy,...
