Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • Several sex scenes and mostly implied sex scenes throughout the whole movie but all scenes are brief, and if you blink you miss it. But there is one scene where there is implied nudity as two characters are in the shower filming a scene for their movie (The Rum Diary) together and they make out and it lasts for about thirty seconds in total, but again, no nudity is shown throughout the entire movie. There's a scene towards the end of the movie where rape is implied, but it isn't shown.

Violence & Gore

  • The whole movie focuses around Domestic Violence, several scenes are shown which showcase physical abuse. In one scene a man is shown to be strangling a woman and he drags her through glass at one point during the same scene, and we see cuts on her arm after the incident, in another scene (this is the same event from Australia, but the movie showcases both sides in which the woman is abusive and the man is abusive) a woman is seen throwing a vodka bottle at a man and slices his finger off and we see his finger that has been severed from the tip for an amount of time. After his finger has been cut off, the man proceeds to write messages on things (such as mirrors etc...) with his bloody finger and it can be seen as quite graphic to younger audiences. In an alternate event of how this happened, the man is shown in a scene to cut his own finger off by smashing a *plastic* phone against a wall repeatedly, resulting in his finger being cut off by himself.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A man is shown being hit by his wife in a scene several times, and there are several scenes throughout the movie where his wife is shown screaming, and berating him, and in another scene she's shown calling him a "baby" for him running away when she starts to get physical.
