I liked it

The tv-series has a great script, director and actors. The story is exciting and suprising. The character development is in the right place. I like how the story turns and the struggles that the characters have to deal with. I have never seen Jonas Karlsson play evil, but I can confirm that he is really great at it.

This story is based on real events and it would be great if Sweden did more things like this, because it really works. I hope for a season 2 of this series, they can actually tell how Jonas character got into the business with horses and continue from there to now. I also hope this series will win some prices at Kristallen this year, because it really deservs it.

Really really good!

Very good series, very detailed and with excellent actors. The story is very strong and will take you to a roller coaster of emotions, frustration, tension, anger, fear, sadness, ... more frustration and tension, more anger.

I like that the series has 8 episodes, nothing is left behind, everything is well told and edited in detail, it doesn't get boring at any time and the 8 episodes are absolutely necessary.

The story is based on true events which makes it more interesting in my opinion. I don't want to offend anyone but when I was 17-18 years old, also in the 90's, I was already a woman who could make her own decisions and give her opinion and react, especially if they were sexually and psychologically abusing me. Thank you Maja!!!, you are the heroine of the story, the other women fall short, the two daughters and the mother Lotta, the mother is totally pathetic! To make the situation worse, they go to visit him during Christmas and bring him gifts and everything, absolutely unacceptable! I imagine it is a question of personality, no one manipulates me in this way!! They let him go too far, and the police also commit a looot of mistakes, are they always this passive?

A shame that it really happened this way, it puts women in a stupid scene. A lot of women against one man and they still lose? The truth is that it makes me sad and angry.

I had to express my personal opinion in this one.

I recommend it without a doubt, great quality and also a lot of tension.

Night Riders

Warning: Spoilers
Maintain a riding school.

The series takes place from 1990-2001, and the focus was changed along the way from the riding girl Molly to the daughters Victoria and Agnes. The mother, Lotta, also gets a somewhat larger role along the way, which really benefits the series, as she was one of my issues with the series.

Tommy gets the punishment, partly through the legal system, but in the end it was the verdict of the people that was decisive.

The series leaves Tommy terminally ill, Molly and Frida get back together, Victoria and Agnes live on, and so does Lotta, who, however, does not take over the Heddesta riding school.

The other riding girls live on, some with psychological help, others without.

Katerina, the great helper for Molly, lives on with the joy that Tommy ultimately lost.

My complaint about the series is that there are a lot of people in the circle who are incredibly naive - that is, that the parents dare to let their children go to the riding school, even after Tommy was convicted.

Furthermore, there is also the appeal that it is never really established how and who of the stable girls live on the farm.

Simply excellent.

One of the best Swedish tv series I, as a Swede myself, has ever seen.

The casting, the script, the acting, the tone, the crawling feeling of discomfort that is impossible to fight off.

I'm surprised they made eight episodes. I think this show usually would be 4-5 episodes but I am, for once, happy they dragged it out this time around. It felt as if I really was served the whole story and then some.

If you read up on the real event, as it unfolded IRL back in the 90's and early 2000, you'll see that this adaption is authentic. Not only "based on". This one is very authentic. One of the main characters, one of the daughters, has done a lot of interviews and been part of documentaries here in Sweden.

Not the best intentions...
MutterCourage16 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
There's nothing wrong with the basic idea, its serious intentions and worthy attempt to portray female abuse. Kudos.

However.... in the hands of these amateurish filmmakers, not even the best intentions can make up for the poor end result. Neither the screenwriter nor the directors are capable of handling the delicate subject matter and instead deliver a far too simple and naive storyline and underdeveloped character development.

The weak direction, flawed script, uneven acting and overuse of collages with music give a feeling more of a student film than a professional tv series.

It's a real shame as the intentions feel genuine.
