"Chapter Four: The Shoes Off the Bed Clause"

A good fish out of water type of episode, "Chapter Four: The Shoes Off the Bed Clause" depicts the reassimilation of the Calvin family into the Chicago suburbs, which for Scott means not being the centre of everyone's attention.

In the North Pole, Simon Choksi has got some 'interesting' ideas about how he could change things now that he's the main man in charge of Santa's operations.

The show is certainly getting better. I was pretty sure it was going to take a real nose dive after the novelty/nostalgia of the first two episodes wore off, but it's pretty good. Hammy and cheesy, for sure, (at times too much so...) but solid Christmas entertainment.

When the Calvins are discussing ideas for how they will explain their absence to their new community, Scott says, "I don't know about lost on an island," and Carol (Elizabeth Mitchell) replies, "Just begs more questions. Trust me." Elizabeth Mitchell starred in the TV show Lost (2004), in which her character is stranded on an island.

Goofs
Betty tells Simon they once thought an elf names Hugo had tried to "pull a blue flu" to get out of work but it turned out he'd just eaten too many M&M's (blue ones). A "blue flu" is a term for when a police union goes on an unofficial strike by having the officers call in sick. Since the elves are not police officers and it was established moments earlier that the elves don't even know what a union is, the use of the term here makes no sense.
