Fantastic. The pleasure of an old Wine.

This series starts slowly but if you love fast paced thrillers then its screenplay which is slow but graceful may put u little off.

But trust me just sit to watch it when you have time to watch it in one Go. Series will not disappoint you..

Its very similar to the old wine ... Starts giving pleasure after one or two episodes... And it just keep on increasing episode after episode.

The Tension, drama, thrill and romance ... Ohhh what not. But its not modern romance .. it stands true to its time period. The music 'behrupiya, man chaliya' is soothing. Production values are very good, cinematography and direction also impresses.

But keep it in mind its not a fast paced thriller. But if you can keep yourself hooked to 3-4 episodes...you won't be able to stop binge watching it.

& One word for the lead Zain Khan Durrani... Oh My Gooodness....what a fantastic performance. I am in awe of this man's screen presence, charm and effortless face expressions. There is a scene where he cries... Hmmm...that's where u get to see his range. He Deserves Films. Great great act.

A must see

Anwar Says: It's very difficult to keep viewers sit tight to their seats while watching an espionage drama and the co-director Shivam Nair ( Special OPS fame) succeeded. A crisp- writing and cinematography of the original Kashmir would take you to tone and tenor of 1965 era. The quality of story telling is easily comparable to the hits like Scam 1992 , Rocket Boys and Undekhi.

When the communication was difficult and there was hardly any technology, infiltrating a spy into the neighbor country to dig out the military secrets under the surveillance of Army and ISI was a difficult subject but Zain Khan Durrani played the character so real, well supported by Prakash Raj , Harsh Chhaya and Adil Rashid . One more character the ISI Chief Zaidi , played by Dilip Shankar is also impressive. Durrani is witty and cocky but love for country made him an unsung hero.

A well researched, little more fast paced series is a binge watch and would take you to PM Lal Bahadur Shastri to Indira Gandhi era and would see the birth of RAW. Must find time to watch, 8 out of 10.

What A Well Crafted Storyline.

Mukhbir is very nice.

The main lead actor 'Durrani' is a raw talent, maybe people will not like his acting but personally I loved it.

The whole work is appreciable.

BGM is not that good.

The Details of work is good and hard work is easily seen in the web series ,It's a Raw Work.

I loved the Song 'Chhaliya/Behrupiya' and Humse to wo Behtar hai. I can hear it on loop.

Prakash Raj and all Characters are good.

I love Adil Hussain always.

Barkha Bisht completes the story with her presence.

I must say Dilip Shankar Sir you rocked whenever you come on screen and your character is just another level sir, intense. Wow it is.

I watched it because of some names in it - Sir Shivam Nair, Prakash Raj, Adil Hussain made me watch this.

This project must go on.

The story is straightforward, the soundtrack is fabulous and the actors have the capability to hold the audience through the eight episodes. Spy thrillers are always tricky. It can either keep the audience hooked from the very beginning or the case could be the complete opposite. But with Mukbir - The Story of A Spy it seems the risk was worth taking. It is an immersive espionage thriller with a lot of heart. While the crisp storyline is a bonus, it appears rushed at times. The romance between the leads appears forced. Apart from this, Mukbir definitely appears to a series that has the potential to grab the attention.

I was amazed by how the series went so smooth and yet in not a boring way.

A well made espionage thriller

Woven around the antecedence of the Second Kashmir War in 1965, Mukhbir is a well made spy thriller depicting the natural metamorphosis of a street smart Indian small timer into a seasoned and ruthless spy with some beautiful glimpses of the then life & culture in Pakistan.

The 8 episodes series is solemnly focused on the intelligence, trivialities and reflex action involved in the complex & dangerous game of international spying. It does not focus much on the blood and gore aspect of the aforementioned war.

Do watch this adaptation of Maloy Dhar's novel, 'Mission to Kashmir: An Intelligent Agent in Pakistan'.

The protagonist Zain Khan Durrani has clearly stolen the show.

Good story , brilliant characters

This is the same director who contributed his mind on " Special OPS " , a mind blowing story teller , of course there is Zain Khan Durrani , the same guy who played the Pakistani terrorist hijacked the plane in movie "Bell Bottom " , so you can understand how versatile actor he is . The mixture of his anger , romance , fear you can watch in this webseries , and the other brilliant characters like Adil Hussain , Prakash Raj , Zoya Afroz they made parallel roles more effective . No extra drama , No un necessary violence , talented cast , no nepotism , top class entertainment and of course spy thrillers with India Pakistan historical drama always put a top entertainment with some good content .

A fairly decent plot involving espionage between India and Pakistan was tarnished by the makers/writers treating extremely delicate situations very lightly and make it look like it's extremely simple for anyone firstly to be a national spy and then to indulge in a very high level of spying without being caught! That apart it was a very interesting series with above average acting,direction and editing!

Zain has done a remarkable job. Superb performance by everyone. The story is full of twists and turns but really enjoyable. Better than raazi movie. Must watch web series. The story makes you more connected with your country. It is one of the best depictions of the difficult life of spies. Barkha and zoya have also done a good job. They had very convincing characters. They inculcated the character very well. The villains also played a good role. Quite a good performance. Long time that i have seen such a performance by almost a new actor zain.. He should be considered further for movies and web series.

Mukhbir doesn't have the glam cast but what the actors have done is surreal and magical. The story keeps you hooked from the beginning and doesn't let's you leave the seat till the end. Spy games, tactics, real threats, extreme situations, realistic actions, charm of spy and love with sacrifice. The story has everything and a must watch spy series with real historic references.

The story keeps you hooked, it takes you throughout the journey of a common man turning into spy with the thrill and perils of this profession and service without any recognition just out of country's love.

Go ahead and watch it, you can't miss this treat.

It the same old concept of a Indian spy sent to Pakistan for inside information purposes which we have seen earlier and in a better way

Here there are many followers of zian who has given 8 to 10 stars for no reason where he was good for nothing

The series is long saga of 8 episodes and they go tremendously slow without any background scores, no hard hitting dialogues ,no action , no thrills ,doesn't give that patriotic feel ...major time is wasted in love story and can u believe there were songs too

This weekend there are many options don't waste your time here.

Im glad I watched this one without waiting for the reviews to be out. Based on true events, is what makes it more desirable. Their attempt is worth a try for us. Those who were waiting for a perfect indian spy thriller are gonna love this. At the start u will feel the lead Zain would not give a promising performance. But he proved to be a new discovery for bollywood after a long time. Good storyline and the music, perfectly sync with the scenes and the timeline.

I completed this in one go. Better than many fictional series' we have been watching in the recent times. The characters based in pakistan, actually did a perfect job and you'll love watching them!

Must watch spy thriller

Every character in this spy thriller act like they are living in real life, Prakash Raj and the hero guy killed it. Zain Khan Durrani has emerged as a fine actor in this one with of course, the powerful acts delivered by supporting cast like Prakash Raj, Adil Hussain and more. While the story brings out the human side of the spy agent. He may be cocky who appears to be someone with no strings attached, but when has to cross the line by killing an innocent, he has all the emotions rushing in. He is not one of those over-confident lads, rather get-the-job done kind of a spy who has emotions but works comes first. Harsh Chayya definitely stands out from the lot with powerful acting. Begum ji nailed her character. Overall it is very nice spy must watch spy thriller.

Here comes a series which transports you to the bygone era with characters that are both believable and endearing.

Kudos to the team for creating the period.drama with so much detailing and references to the bygone era. Actors have played their part with aplomb lead by the brilliant Zain Durrani who breathes life into Harfan ably supported by a stellar cast.

The direction is top notch, screenplay is gripping, and the setting is well researched. Pacing of the series is languid to begin with and slowly gathers pace with the protagonist finding himself in thick of things to deliver on the mission assigned. Special mention for casting, dialogue and lyrics departments, which helps in creating the desired impact.

Overall, a brilliant effort! Well dome Shivam Nair and team Victor Tango!! Is season 2 on the cards?! Would be interesting!

Nuanced Storytelling-Direction!

Superb ! I have liked both the directors previous work , in special ops and Kaun Praveen Tambe ! But this on is by far their best work. What a nuanced story telling. The performances are pitch perfect. From the production design to the costume , camera work etc. It almost makes you live and experience that era .

Binge worthy without using typical tropes to get the audience interested . The main lead guy is quite a discovery . What an actor and what an ensemble . I think it's one of best cast series in india till now . All the actors have excelled .

Glad, that Indian content is slowly evolving!

'Mukhbir, the story of a spy' is a draught of fresh air in the otherwise dark period of otherworldly drama of smarter-than-thou characters playing out sleezy, outrageously expletive-ridden and often unrealistic roles. Vaibhav Modi and Arshad Sayyed have done an excellent job in writing the screenplay. Doing a period drama entails special challenges, however this spy-thriller series sails smoothly. And enthralls too. Prakash Raj, Harsh Chhaya, Adil Hussain have excelled in living their characters. Zain Khan adds an uncanny charm to the show with his charismatic personality, mischievous smile, euphonious voice and a dialogue delivery that has this 'deliberately casual' attitude making him stand out. Needless to say, he has lived his character to the hilt. Music and lyrics gel well with the show's period. Nuances of espionage, its perils and the grave dangers, crises and uncertainties/vulnerabilities it entails are all meticulously woven in the show. Absolutely, an unmissable series.

Ok if you ignore leftist mind-wash technique

Seems leftism movie and they changed mind washing techniques by taking true parts of history and putting some leftist masala that people can ignore but get the print in their head. Changing religion of agents, all christian and muslim. Who takes Prakash raj as Raw chief? Damm that guy is too slow. So much to comment but really disappointed by zee5. Weak raw agent. He just had luck and all people around him was getting killed. Director just pushing him to be a hero. Not showing Pakistan's actual character. Being very soft on other side who actually started war but showing we reached Lahore first. What happened in 1965 should be read in book first that even actual facts and not watch stupid movies which just make it a romantic drama masala timepass cartoon.

The trailer had intrigued me , despite my reservations of another spy drama against the india Pakistan backdrop. I am much surprised, at the take by writers and the directors to make this one vastly different from what we have seen so far . The story grabs you in , and keeps you invested through out with one twist after another without trying too hard . Fabulous screenplay.

I loved the direction and the world they created . Was so real and so engaging . It kept me gripped through out . Saw it in one go. The actors are so aptly casted, styled to carve out real people who look and feel the part and not just mouth lines. The silences, the looks, glances gives it a rich nuanced subtext. Highly recommended.

Lal Bahadur Shastri ji was really a good prime minister. The series was shown very well but what they can change is in spy story of India and Pakistan not to add so many emotions & guilt on the spy.

Second last episode has too much drama. But the last episode in which Lal Bahadur Shastri ji was very good. Ending was also good.

Fantastic + Wonderful Direction and Performances

This is a must watch show for all countrymen and women. Album songs and the show itself invoke nostalgia which I have heard my parents and grandparent talk about.

The protagonist has played his part to the perfection. He must get more challenging characters to play and raise the bar.

It felt that Indian dierctors can also put brains on script and do justice with characters and scene creation. 200% better than typical bollywoodian crap.

Keep up the good work team Mukhbir. Expecting more fabulous shows form you guys. All of you guys.

Each character was played perfectly. Dialogues are spot on as per the scenes.

The album of Mukhbir has melodious songs.

It is nice to see that the time has come in indian media films and TV both are focusing more on real life stories , events. Mukhbir- the story of a spy is another promising mile stone. Pace of the story is very good which makes viewers focused, dialogues and lyrics are fabulous by Vaibhav Modi , Actors have done a brilliant job specially Chàcha and Harfan (I liked the emotional confusion of Harfan when he comes back in ep7-8). It is also great to see real recordings of that time (Hon. Lal Bahàdur Shastri ji) . Suspence, thrill, action , romance all makes it a perfect series. Congratulations and best wishes to team Victor Tango great work.

Watch it to believe it!

It is a beautiful, well-crafted depiction of the era of 1965 when the war was imminent. I had not even chosen the show, my husband had started watching and I was initially forced to watch. Then soon I was glued to it. The story starts slow but builds on quickly, and it had such a grip on me that I finished 8 episodes in a couple of days (when I work long hours).

What captivated me was India and Pak of 1965, it looked real in all its austerity. And the old world charm and mystery, the background score and beautiful ghazals, and the transformation of the spy. It's captured human emotions, doubt, fear, hesitation, love, trepidation, guilt... it's all so beautiful like a poem. And the language is authentic Urdu as spoken in Pakistan, the actors are great, and the protagonist kept on surprising me, he's simply marvellous. It's all so believable. Do watch!

Over Acting

Dull ! Over Acting! Nostalgic! Third Class Presentation! The web series feels boring ! Nothing New ! Doesn't look realistic! Looks series has been made for the sake of Making, though the makers tried to use patriotism as a tool to use the sentiment of viewers for this series but that doesn't seem to be working. I wouldn't recommend watching this series. The lead actor seems to be sleepy and his overacting is visible in each and every part of the series. If you look for logic in this series, just forget it and wat something else.

If I could use just 1 word to describe this whole series I would say it's "Dull".

Hats off to the maker. We need this kind of thrilling web series with soothing songs is some thing different & with a new flavour which you will not see in your daily life.

Mark my word you won't regret 😃 Full of Enjoyment & actors are too good they portrayed the charcter in a beautiful manner.

All characters which shown here is truly beautiful like a small character of dadi plays a great character, even cameos are also too good.

Overall it's an awesome 👏 web series with very fresh content.

Best period spy thriller

Mukhbir was the best show I've watched in a while. Vaibhav Modi has outdone himself with this beautiful creation. The dialogues are impactful and bring a flavour that enriches the story. The soundtrack and lyrics keep you engaged and emotionally support the mood of the scene - again credited to Vaibhav.

The show had me on the edge of my seat from episode 1. Curiosity and suspense made me binge watch. The starcast is stellar with splendid performances. You grow with the struggles of Zain Khan Durrani as a spy.

Even after having finished the show, I still look back on the absolute spectacle that this brilliant team has created. I was impressed by the VFX, incorporation of lighting as an asset to the story, and subtle touches which only go to show the amount of work that has gone behind making this spectacle. Must watch!
