Great series
DMMMUFFIN12 August 2021
Bake was a really good start with charismatic characters and all that stuff but Nise feels more solid then it's predecesor

I like Bake and Nise a lot(in the same level) but the incest it's a little bit uncomfortable

Some new character and a really good phasing :)

More lighthearted than the other Monogatari's. Incest Service Aside it was a Fine Show.

Rating: 7.3

Favorite Episode: Karen Bee, Part 3

Quicker dialogue than Bakemonogatari but still carrying the sharp commentary. The incestuous fanservice was bothersome (the infamous toothbrush scene, the oddly strong sexual tension between Karen and Araragi, Araragi kissing tsukihi ect...) and it boggled my mind how they gave us incest service but not fanservice of the main couple (we saw him kiss his sister but not hitagi?!.) This show also didn't have the dark undertone that Kizu and Bakemonogatari had, but as a whole, it's mostly fine with a few great episodes.

It literally means Fake story, I guess?

Nisemonogatari is the second title of the Monogatari series, release wise of course. First let me say this one is entirely about Koyomi's sisters, Araragi Karen and Araragi Tsukihi AKA the fire sisters. We can divide the whole anime into two parts, where the first one deals with Karen-chan and the second one deals with Tsukihi-chan. Bakemonogatari revealed next to nothing about Koyomi's sisters except that they somewhat existed. But as this series is mostly about them, you'll get to see them plenty.

If you think you have seen enough pervert activities of Koyomi in Bakemonogatari, Honey, you've seen nothing. Both his lolicon and siscon activities really bothered me because I actually kinda like this guy. His perversion knows no bounds. You'll get to see the sweet cute Hachikuji again. Her presence will give you joy (If you like her in the first place. I like her. So I was happy to see her again). Hanekawa will be in the series too. Sadly there was no Meme. You guys have no idea how I missed that guy. But, there will be two new characters, Kaiki Deishuu and Kagenui Yozoru. They are classmates of my beloved Meme-sama. But their presence only made me confused about Meme-sama's age. Because Kaiki looked like he is in his early 40's or late 30's. But I don't want to imagine Meme-sama being above his early 30's. Hmm. He was also the imposter exorcist that Senjougahara went to for her weight loss mystery. Kaiki Deishuu is voiced by Miki Shinichiro. I was again mesmerized by his talent in voice acting.

In the second part, Kageuni Yozoru arrives with her shikigami Ononoki Yotsugi. They are fine people. You will like them. But the last words of Yozoru gave me goosebumps.

I guess I'll end this with something Oshino-kun would never say. Sayonara.

In this anime you will see some action of Shinobu, the golden-haired vampire that lives under Koyomi's shadow (Imagine a vampire living under your shadow. How cool is that?!).

The anime follows the same pattern as the previous one. And Monogatari series has outstanding animation. No comment on that.

I have finished three titles of the Monogatari series by far (Yes, I have seen Nekomonogatari too). And one thing I can guarantee you is that the ending will never disappoint you.

Happy watching.

The continuation of the Monogatari series
TheGreatGreenBadger5 June 2020
The continuation of Bakemonogatari, it is a series that is focused on the sisters of Araragi the quasi-vampire. From this series on, Monogatari gets only stranger. It delves deeper into the Monogatari universe and explores some of its characters a bit more. We learn more about the former legendary vampire, Shinobu Oshino, who really was just a shadow in Bakemonogatari. We also learn about Karen Tsukihi, Koyomi's weird sisters. On top of this, there's a lot of fanservice, which is to be expected. However, this series is definitely a must-see. Especially that toothbrush scene!

The second instalment of the 'Monogatari' franchise
Tweekums23 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This series sees the return of Koyomi Araragi and contains two stories; the first is the seven-part 'Karen Bee' and the second the four-part 'Tsukihi Phoenix'.

'Karen Bee' opens with Koyomi waking up in an unknown location where he is held in chains by Hitagi, apparently to protect him. In the story that follows it emerges that Kaiki Deishu is back in town causing trouble; Koyomi's sister Karen confronts him for selling fake charms to young children and gets stung by a strange bee that causes her to get a high fever. Koyomi, as a part vampire, manages to take half of the poison.

In 'Tsukihi Phoenix' Koyomi's other sister, Tsukihi takes centre stage. Two strange girls turn up claiming that she is actually a fake; are they telling the truth and if so how will Koyomi react?

I actually enjoyed this series a more than 'Bakemonogatari', perhaps because this time I was prepared for a very stylish, conversation heavy series where the interaction between the characters is more important than the story. This does mean one has to concentrate more than when watching most series; if one does one is rewarded with interesting, well developed characters. I particularly enjoyed the second story as I was intrigued by what Tsukihi's true nature would turn out to be; this is resolved in a good way that I hadn't suspected. It also features an erotically charged scene of tooth-brushing that is close to incestuous! As one would expect the visuals are stunning and the animation impressive. Overall I'd certainly recommend this to anybody who enjoyed 'Bakemonogatari'; I'd certainly advise watching that series first or this might me a little confusing as no time is wasted introducing established characters.

Solid, good expansion but it felt rushed
dameon_green14 April 2020
This "season" ended with 11 episodes and honestly I thought some of the plot points in both story arcs (especially the second arc) could have used a little more explanation, 2 or 3 more episodes would have likely been a good addition.
