This film marks the first time that Po refers to himself as the "Kung Fu Panda."
Zhen says to the thieves "Are you ready to do the right thing for the wrong reasons?" This mirrors Mr. Ping's line from the previous film, "Sometimes people do the wrong thing for the right reason."
Viola Davis is the third consecutive Academy Award winner to play the villain in a Kung Fu Panda movie, after Gary Oldman in Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011) and J.K. Simmons in Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016).
Costing $85 million, this is the least expensive film in the franchise, and the only one to cost under $100 million.
In a way, Tai Lung has appeared in every Kung Fu Panda movie:
-Kung Fu Panda: He was the main antagonist.
-Kung Fu Panda 2: He was mentioned, and appeared in a flashback.
-Kung Fu Panda 3: He was one of Po's action figures and one of Kai's amulets.
