Getting there..

This show has seen a slow start, but it is evolving. Really dislike Michael Shanks playing such a "zombie" role, he has way more potential. That's why its getting a 7 for now. Characters are growing by each episode and I like that more than some other crap shows that have been around way longer. Personally I like it when you gradually get to know more about a character during the show and some characters you think you know from episode 1. Fortunately this show has some of both, so I am willing to commit to a full season. By then Charly should be out of his coma, remember most of it and finds a way to still "help" out on the other side. I would not be able to sit through another season of the same battle for keeping him on life support.

Note to people paying the bills.. give this show a chance..

No wonder this show gets cancelled in the US after the first season

Alex's lawyer asks one question? Dawm can you honestly deny that you are motivated in this by jealousy of what Alex had with Charlie and you didn't? Then to the arbitrator: who should make this decision - the person who wants to take away from someone or the person who motivated purely by love?

I don't see how anyone in this hospital could ever work with Dawn after this, especially Charlie if he wakes up.

There is no one on this show that is truly likeable except possibly the ICU doctor, Mel and of course Charlie. I was ready to like the psych resident, but even he is a cross between selfish and stupid. Alex has sympathy going for her but it is hard to ignore her arrogance and her naivety. In this episode, all the bad traits come out in virtually everyone..

I picked this show up in the third season. The one character I truly liked from then on was Maggie. She starts out a little too insecure but grows. But in the first season she is just a shallow flirt. I dislike this person a lot and I can't even see how she transitioned. In later seasons, all these same unlikeable people develop some good traits, although Alex is up and down.

Joel is likewise selfish and his selfishness overwhelms his attempts at nobility.

Lest you think my criticism is merely this one episode, much of the first season has followed the same patterns described above.

Is this conflict over the DNR good drama? To partly answer that, is there anyone knowing this is only episode 8 that can't see what's coming next? I don't see how.
