If you're looking for funny and easy to watch after a long day this won't do you wrong. It's super dumb but really funny. Lags in the middle a bit but finishes well. Actors are great, writing is witty, storyline is different, effects were surprisingly good.

I think most of the reviews slating this movie are unfair! For what it is, it's pretty funny. I'm quick to turn movies off when they are slow and boring, but this one had a certain charm to it and that's thanks to the actors and actresses chosen to play the characters. Is it perfect? No of course not. But it's better than a lot of movies that somehow get a better rating, I think the cast need a bit more appreciation for the roles they played.

I'm pretty picky about movies, but this was fun to watch. It started out a bit awkward, but once it got going it was great.
The three actors were really good and the characters were very likeable.
Not everything has to be perfect to be enjoyable; just relax and enjoy because the film is worth going through the beginning to get to the good part.

I had doubts before hitting the play button. But to my surprise this comedy from South Africa really made me laughed several times. It has a flair of the Asylum films but without the CGI storms. Nothing special, but it was entertaining.

I couldn't take it after the first 20 minutes. Is it supposed to be funny or just crazy awkward?
Not one line or scene would ever take place in real life. Which isn't always a problem in movies...if they're funny in any way.
I'm really trying my best to understand how anyone involved in this movie thought a single bit of it was working.

Everyone of the characters are well defined and well written and they stay in that character throughout. That is a great start... but then every character is funny in their own special way as well. I literally cracked up laughing out loud on several occasions. Is it dorky sometimes and predictable, yes... but other times it is not. It is a good combo. I didn't find it to be slow paced... I found those to be spots of character defining moments and I loved it. If you are not big into character acting in your movies, you probably won't like this too much... but if you do like well defined characters that are all quirky in their own way, you will like it bunches. I liked it bunches.

After I watch this movie, I couldn't rate. So I read reviews. Very mixed results, like I felt after watched. The movie has definitely 'African humour' inside and I believe some didn't get it. It is cliché at some angles (story), but yet make you smile. If you expect Hollywood style filtering, multi-camera angles, action pack etc. ;well do not. Budget limitations could be recognized.
Actor performance was really good. Sometimes actors overly exaggerating certain traits. I think it maybe confuse with over acting, I think it is performed deliberately, to make fun of the characters.
The movie could be found childish/ geeky, family oriented but it will throw harsh reality to our face in sugar coated form.
I gave 8, because it is not an epic, it is not rare- pure art purposed and shouted. However, it is fun to watch. Grab some pop-corn, relax and enjoy. I did.

Not what I was expecting in a low budget scifi

This is the kind of movie in which the director inserts aliens to find a producer.
Any one who has has grinded through the corporate world can immediately relate to the geniusness of the script. Corporate management is shown in a sarcastic caricaturous way and the story is really about the struggles of the workers.
Director flips between subtle dry humour vs outrageously exaggerated scenes in others. Graphics have been kept to minimum and decent. If you expect a full action movie with loads of aliens you will be disappointed. Actors are cast correctly and while they won't win any academy awards, they are funny and emotive and goofy enough.

This movie isn't worth a score of 10, but it's so far beyond warranting the low scores that some are giving it that some balance must be restored.
This is a fairly entertaining, daftly-comedic office saga with likeable characters, well-played by the actors, and a tone that veers strangely between cartoonish absurdity and genuine character development; a bit like the mockumentary,The office, did.
Things don't get truly bizarre until the last thirty-five minutes, when the extra-terrestrials reveal themselves, but the characters are engaging enough to help the nonsense along.
I liked watching it, and would happily watch it again at some point in the future, if nothing else grabbed my attention.

The movies of recent seem to be plummeting to new depths, bad acting, stupid plots, you know how bad this is going to be in the first 2 minutes.....and then it gets worse. The only reason I can see that this movie was made, was for some kind of tax dodge. Not funny, not engaging just very poor film making from it seems, people who have no clue. Just awful.
Save your time or watch a test pattern instead, you will thank me for this warning.

I watch movies all day (and sometimes night) long. I am too sick to do much more than this. I have seen many, many losers. This one is NOT A LOSER!! If you are a stuck up butt, you will not like this one. If you enjoy a truly funny movie with a great ensemble cast that is ridiculous, but LOL funny and can suspend your stick and snotty nose, this is a movie to watch. Actually, having watched 5 truly horrible movies in a row, this little surprise was a gift. I expected it to be Animal House, and while it had some of the aspects of AH, it also had great heart, great lines, and office humor off the wall.
It is an unexpected treasure. A movie I laughed at from beginning to end. We can watch the news to cry and be annoyed! But this movie? Took me away for a few minutes with such great acting and comedic timing, with no surprises or poor me moments or politics or wokeness, it felt like a true gift. Thanks to Netflix for the funniest movie I have seen since Uncle Buck!! Not for the stick-in-butts, just the average person looking for harmless fun. For those of you down rating this movie? I feel so sorry for you! For the rest? I highly recommend this movie. Be aware there is a lot of bad language and sexual suggestions. You honestly have to suspend some judgment and just enjoy the laughs!

All the African content in Netflix these days are political drama/ struggle. It is refreshing to have something ridiculous and witty to laugh at when the day ends! This film is not here to change the world it's here for us to laugh and forget the drama and problems we face today in our country and it does just that! Do yourself a favor and escape into this ridiculous world ! 👏🏻

I feel like a lot of the negative reviews here are unjust. This was funny, if you have any funny bone in your body or have ever worked in corporates - not as the manager / boss, or lived in South Africa you will laugh and laugh and laugh. This speaks to so many of us. Thank you. Please make more of these we all need a lighthearted laugh every now and then.

There was something off about this movie and I think it's intentional. I feel like I've been trolled and I'm not even mad - I'm impressed. Predictable plots, overused tropes and absurd one liners keep coming. It just keeps getting more and more ridiculous and that's cool too. It feels a bit like a Douglas Adams story where the grand revelation is left a bit open ended. It's weird but if you relax, you'll laugh.
Absolutely worth your time.

Not a superbig story. Not crazy effects. Not a burst of laugh every 20 secs.
However, the acting is good, the characters are some stereotype personalities that definitely exist in real life, the jokes are hilarious and there's a lot of that. The music is kinda out of place but that is actually perfect.
Enjoy watching this.

The idea sounded solid, but the execution was lost somewhere. It's not that it didn't keep me moderately entertained for the run time, but overall after the credits ran I didn't know what type of movie it was. It's not a comedy or horror or action. I'm just not sure how to describe it. Watchable but forgettable.

There aren't enough words to describe how awful this is. I would have rather been violently ill for an hour and fifty two minutes, than having been exposed to this rubbish. I expect this kind of crap to land on streaming services like Stan, but Netflix honestly can't have been awake when they approved this.

The amount of people who hold the same standards for movies that are funneled straight to streaming services (in this case Netflix) to the same standards as a movie such as Maverick you've got to drop $15 dollars per ticket to watch with actors who're paid more than this entire movie's total budget and what they want out of a movie completely baffles me, it really does.
I would recommend this movie to anyone who is looking for a comedy that keeps a good amount of laughs throughout the entire movie with a cool sci-fi twist. The cast is amazing and everything about this film is done very well. It's not one of those films where people go in thinking it will be great because of all the actors or actress starring in the movie which can sometimes make the film seem far less than what it actually could be. This however kept me interested from start to finish and I left with wanting more.

Then you have the people who were either directly or indirectly involved with the film, and they don't agree with the low scores, so they boost their scores from 5 or 6 to a 10. So they want to enter their score and manipulate the system by adding extra points. Some even tell you they are doing this.
Then you have your people from South Africa who mention South Africa in their post. They don't agree with the low scores either, and they remind you it's a b movie and to give it a chance because it's a South African movie, so don't judge it like a Hollywood movie. These people bump their score up to either the 6ish area or they vote 10 to make up for other people voting so low.
The movie sucks, period. When you have this many people trying so hard to manipulate the numbers it's because the movie sucks, but they have a vested interest in the movie.

Some of it was a bit stilted, but it was worth watching. The situations were over the top and sometimes really gross. If you've ever worked in a large company or corporation you will feel this movie. It was ridiculous and stupid and I totally loved it.

It's like those 1950's scifi-B-movie posters that showed epic images that never actually appeared in the film itself.
Still, since this is a South African film, I went in thinking this film about foreign beings stealing all the goods from an African mine was going to be a layered story in the form of a fun scifi film.
It is not.
Although nothing is brilliant, the cinematography, acting, and CGI is at least adequate enough to make it a waste that the story is boring and flat. The plot doesn't start until after an hour, and the climax is 10 suspenseless minutes. I find it sad to say since people put work into this film, but this is one that is highly likely to be a waste of your time.

Abit of a slow start...but really not deserving of negative reviews

I'm pretty sure most of the negative reviews are from people who didn't make it to the end of the film. So if you're someone who doesn't finish a movie if the beginning doesn't grab you...don't bother watching, this isn't your cup of tea.
For everyone else, this eventually becomes quite enjoyable. You have actual funny moments and the characters are likeable and fairly well played. I feel the first half of the movie let it down and that's where most people were lost.
Otherwise, it's not going to be a waste of your time. Try not to be too serious and you'll enjoy it.
My actual rating is a 6/10. Giving it a 10 here because the movie is getting poor reviews by people who didn't finish it and that just isn't fair.
