"Poolside" is a 12-minute short film from four years ago. It is a live action movie written and directed by Aaron C. Peer and he also plays one of the two male characters. The star here, however, is Lana Del Rey, a world-famous singer, who plays the female protagonist here. However, her character is a perfect example of how not to write a female character. She adds pretty much nothing to the story other than some sex appeal, even if that is also not as much as they thought it would be. The two guys deliver better portrayals, but they aren't good enough either to make this worth a watch. Overall, it is a film that is mediocre at best in all areas. I was a bit generous here with the rating as Peer has not really made many films yet, so hopefully he keeps improving if he wants to keep directing. I do not recommend the watch. Thumbs down.
