Ok for children younger that 7-8
legend-is-alive25 December 2023
The art style is ok for children but might be annoying or boring for adults.

The voice actors are doing nice job, story is not that interesting but thats what they could stretch anyways.

Its ok for children younger than 7 or 8 years old but if you are planning t go as a family! Then be ready to get bored,

Luckly the moveie is short, it is less than 90 min so thats a plus for grown ups and even for kids

The second half is more enjoyable !

Anywasy the kids will most likelky enjoy it more if they are familiar with the story and the characters.

Don't expect too musc its fun watch for kids thats it.

Lowest form of kids entertainment
Hastilywritten29 December 2023
This movie was so bad. It was really painful to sit through 70 minutes, I was hoping my kid would find it scary and would want to leave, but unfortunately we were not that lucky.

First of all, we like the books. I can enjoy reading alongside my kid, the art-style is charming and the humor is simpel but never annoying. The movie on the other hand was annoying from start to finish. It s incredibly fast cut, loud, has not even the slightest hint of a story arc and absolutely no clever jokes whatsoever. It s just 70 min of flashy images, farts, piss and (child-friendly?) violence. Next time I ll just put on a youtube reel of people farting and faceplanting and save myself the money for movie tickets.

I know it is supposed to be entertaining for small kids, but compared to other popular content for smaller kids (which is not necessarily entertaining for adults) like paw patrol, lego movies, fantorangen, frozen etc. This is in a league of its own in the most negative sense. Kids (and their parents) deserve better than this.

Don't go!

Nothing fun happened until the last ten minutes. I could have made a better move/story on my phone. It was so sad. My daughter's friend who's never been to he cinema had to watch this as her first movie.

Kids also wants movies to resemble books.

I didn't recognize a lot of until the end.

The kids never laught. Thank God they had candy to keep them occupied or I wouldn't have known how to make it through this horrible movie.

Was this only made for profit? The production must have seen how bad it was and it should have been rewritten or canceled.....

Don't go, stay at home and read the books!

Incredibly boring film - read the books!
rqqdkmzv29 December 2023
We have read the books many, many times. They are fun, charming and innovative children's books. The film is the opposite of all that. I was bored after three minutes and, ok, I'm an adult, but I didn't hear any children laughing during the hour long torture. The film lacked a real story. It was just repeating it self with the troll appearing over and over again. The only enjoyable thing was the hit song Badebussen. I could see the children digging that.

My advice to you all is to skip this awful film and buy the books instead. They are fun both for children and grown ups. If you have come over a good review about this film, don't believe it. The reviewers are probably friends with the creators.

Alright time-waster

After reading all of the books in the series, my four year old an I were excited to go to the movie theater to see the film. For the most part, he liked it a lot - when not loving it. From a four year old's eyes, this is a great break from Peppa Pig and Fireman Sam, closer to the recent Paw Patrol-movies in entertainment value.

The much hyped song "Badebussen" was toned down a bit to make room for sound effects - but nonetheless, the whole theater was singing along.

As an adult I would appreciate the movie a lot more if there weren't so many awkward pauses in the dialogue. The performers themselves are doing alright jobs - the Troll is great, but some other characters feel unnecessary. The crows, the whole scene on the bridge - the timing is way of.

The movie is at it's peak when many things are happening at the same time, and it's nice to get a diversion from just what's happening when they get to the theme park - but the ride there is way too long. It felt like the movie's finale was near from the second we got of the bus.

With that in mind, the songs are memorable ("Alt går an på badeland" is a refreshing song with a different style), the plot is alright, but the pacing is way of. The four year old is excited to see it again when it becomes streamable, and, I kinda am too.

So.......much......filler...!

Overall bad and uninspired film. Almost impressive how they managed to avoid all the charm and identity from the source matereal. All parts of the story that was not directly from the books was laughably bad. And it seems like they delivered voicelines slowly, and with a lot of repetition to drag out the playtime of the movie. Not to mention a lot of the dialogue seemed like filling the scenes with words, rather than being any kind of meaningful storytelling. The animation is not outright bad, but replaces chaotic charm with ugly. I had two kids with me, who seemed to have an ok experience, except for the music numbers, which had them covering and hiding of embarrassment. They really were that bad. The only highlight was of course the "Badebussen" song, which we all agreed was awesome. All in all, not recommended, check out the books in stead.
