A Very enjoyable farce in which the host is game for a laugh. The seriousness and commitment that Andrew Daly brings to the character is to be applauded. He reviews many life situations from the bizarre to the feared and delves in with enthusiasm that's to be admired. Everything from "being gay" to "murder" to "joining a cult". In short, try everything in life and review it!!!

I only hope it hasn't been cancelled or worse that the presenter hasn't died from heart failure.

O the irony. I dare you not to laugh.

Forrest MacNeil, the guy on TV who will review anything his viewers want, from the mundane to the life-changing. That's an awesome hook, but Andy Daly is a comic genius and runs like hell with it. The requests become progressively more impossible, so Forrest's life becomes self-destructive. Hell, it goes right down the tubes. Case in point: "What's it like to eat 30 pancakes?". Rating life experiences becomes ruinous for both him and pretty much everyone within his orbit (my god, his poor wife).

I honestly wasn't prepared for something so addicting. As soon as I finished the series run (22 episodes?!) I immediately wanted to start over. The replay value is astronomical, and for my money the pancakes episode is some of the best tragic comedy I've ever seen. You wouldn't think it'd be so fun to see this weirdo get absolutely wrecked, and just as clever as it is dark.

This show's amazing!

This guy doesn't get comedy. Amy schumer is a great comedian, but her show is trying to shove "funny" down your throat so hard that it loses credibility. The same goes for the kroll show. Review is a fresh concept and Andy pulls off laughs without trying so hard you shudder from the douche chills. I felt like it had just enough painful awkwardness without going overboard and relying on it to carry the show.I honestly thought the show was gonna be dumb when i saw the previews but I laughed non stop through the whole first episode. If it was any other host I think the show would be a flop but Andy is a perfect fit and plays the part flawlessly IMO. I give it a MILLION STARS!!!!!!!

I had no idea what this was going into it, I only found out about it while surfing the CC website and checking out clips on various shows. As I watched each video I began to notice I was laughing nonstop at each short scene. I thought if these two minute snidbits are this funny then the full half hour must be hilarious. Sure enough I watched the first episode and spend the rest of the night binge watching season 1 and the first episode of season 2. This show is laugh out loud funny, just dirty enough to be edgy, and the writing is some of the freshest and most clever on TV. I knew Andy Daly from EastBound and Down, although funny throughout that series, he only played a minor part in it. But in this show he shines like no other comedian I've seen in awhile and I couldn't see anyone else filling this role. Each episode takes you on a hilarious adventure with Forrest as he tries to navigate these insane and grueling reviews. His consistently oblivious nature puts him at odds with the people around him and sets in motion some of the funniest comedic situations on television. The reviews he has sent in each week range from joining the Mile High club to finding out what it's like to be a little person, but it's the way Forrest goes about surveying these reviews that really makes the show so remarkable. I give it ***** Stars!

I was a bit skeptical about the concept behind this show. What saves it from banality is just how creative and edgy each episode is. The viewer has NO idea what is going to happen next. There is no formula and the tension is often ratcheded up to excruciating levels. There are tons of laughs here and the back stories are woven in expertly. So many comedies are played very hammy with lots of stereotypes. This is a very refreshing new form of comedy where the backdrop is more realistic with only some of the characters being over the top. If you're a fan of Louie, The Office or Curb Your Enthusiasm you will likely really love this show. It's fresh and Andy Daly plays the role of the hapless reporter to perfection. I hope that we see more hilarious comedies coming. Great stuff!

I don't know how I didn't know about this show when it actually aired and why it's not still on. The premise is such a brilliant idea and something I could definitely see being made into a realty show. The difference is the reality show would scrutinize the viewer suggestions for what to review and they'd pick the easy ones. I've seen Andrew Daly in the background of other movies/shows and I never thought one way or the other about him but he is spot on in this. Forrest MacNeil (Daly) is a married father of one son who has a review show on tv. He doesn't review books or food or movies, he reviews everyday life and gets his suggestions from viewers. It can be anything from eating 15 pancakes, having a best friend, to stealing, doing drugs, and making a sex tape. No matter the request he must do whatever the suggestion says and that's where the hilarity comes in.

IF that doesn't sell you, let me just say that this show is deceptively simple and deeply brilliant. Andy Daly's performance as Forrest is absolutely pitch perfect, by the end of the show you really feel like you've gotten to know and understand him and love him despite his many, many flaws.

His pure devotion to his "reviews" to the extent that he completely ruins everything good or decent about his own life is always difficult to watch but my sides are usually sore from laughing by the end.

Having not seen the Australian version I can't speak to that, but missing or dismissing this show because it's an American knock-off would be doing yourself a great disservice.

Yes, 'Review' is a brilliant concept. However, anyone touting it as refreshingly original or uniquely funny is sorely mistaken. The show 'Review' is actually an American reboot of the Australian comedy, 'Review with Myles Barlow' starring Phil Lloyd, first airing in 2008 (See the 'Did You Know?' section).

The American 'Review' is a well made program, but like 'The Office (US)', it's a slightly less realistic, less painfully honest and altogether less well formulated show, despite the bigger budget. If you can find the Australian version (a lot of which is on Youtube), I'd recommend comparing the first review of both pilots, 'stealing', to get the idea. A few segments contain Australianisms that might not come across to a foreign audience, but with superior writing, beautifully painful situations and a consistently stellar performance from Phil Lloyd, it's definitely worth checking out.

The American 'Review' is great nonetheless, even when it is painfully similar to situations from its Australian predecessor. It may be harder to identify a reboot with smaller series that don't come out of the US or the UK, but it's important to know where credit is due.

Genuinely one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. If you like Nathan For You or other surreal Comedy Central shows, strap in. It's a shame season 3 was so short because I could've watched 10 seasons of this.

The topic in general seems interesting, even though some certain plots might not be the best.

This American remake of the brilliant and often very dark Australian series of the same name is riddled with bad choices which resulted in a bland and poorly executed comedy.

The original series was so good not just in the way that the reviews were executed, but also the way they were picked. The presenter Myles Barlow would read a letter from a viewer containing some personal issue or predicament then he would decide what to review based on what he thinks is the theme of the letter, sometimes reviewing things that have little to no relation to the letter itself, making it all the more funny. After experiencing what he was set to review and just before giving it a rating, Barlow would then present this wordy monologue full of pseudo-criticism jargon. It was one of the highlights of the series' superb writing.

Instead of letters, the American version has tweets, emails or video messages that simply say what's it like to do this, or how it feels to do that. Then we see the present Forrest MacNeil leaving the studio to review it. The part where he talks about the experience is never funny. It's just a couple of simple and tired sentences repeated throughout the show. It felt like so much of the comedic value was lost. MacNeil cartoonish personality and obnoxious delivery didn't help much either.

One of the most notable addition to the remake is of course a co-presenter which possibly happens to be one of the most unfunny and unnecessary characters to ever appear in a comedy series, and that's something that you'll be reminded of every time she says a word or makes a facial expression looking at the camera.

When it comes to the reviews themselves, too many were about sex, and they mostly felt like a lazy way to get some cheap laughs. You have the Making a Sex Tape review, Orgy review, Gloryhole review, Sleeping with Your Teacher review and even Mile High Club review where MacNeil has to have sex in an airplane bathroom. Some of these contain the kind of situations that no one over 14 or 15 would find funny. Some of the reviews that I found myself enjoying more were the likes of Being Irish, and Small People. It was always funny illustrating how dedicated Forrest is to what he was reviewing.

This nutty show has the hapless Forrest engaging himself in all sorts of nutty adventures in order to review everyday life. The show is made up of a number of separate reviews, but the show is at its best when it ties them together into one seamless experience. This was the case in the first episode, in which stealing and addiction come together in a prom, but for the most part the show is less cohesive. But it's always quite funny.

This show is based on an English show, and it's interesting to see how different the approach is. I've seen two episodes of that one so far (they're all on youtube). The English critic is pretentious and approaches his task with a grim certainty that it must be done. Forrest, on the other hand, acts as though he is being blown by fate into insane situations; one difference is Forrest needs a producer to egg him on in moments of doubt. It's a very different approach, and so far I like the America version better.

The problem with this series for me is it can get too dark. While it's always funny, after a while the show was getting so grim, as Forrest shreds his life for his job, that I found it hard to watch, and somewhere in season 2 I just kind of stopped, although I still intend to watch again sometime.

Definitely recommended though.

Just wow. He goes where I want to go but I can't because of SOCIETY.

The idea of review is a good one and the show is reminiscent of Nathan For You, which makes sense as it was picked up by the same production company. The shock humour is effective and there are some nice word play humour under the surface which is fun as well.

The only flaw I find with the show is that unlike others like it, it is clear that absolutely everything is staged, there is no joy to be had in figuring out what is real and who is an actor and whatnot. What is good about the show is that there are always consequences, everything he does in the name of the show comes back to bite him in his real life, which is a fun and mostly unique gimmick.

Overall this is a pretty great show, although it could have used a little more restraint to make the audience question how much of it is real maybe, but at least it goes for it by being wholly scripted and can lead to some interesting situations that simply couldn't be pulled off if the show weren't entirely staged.

This sad, unfunny snore-fest is NOT original or refreshing as so many people here are claiming it is.

With just a tiny effort to know what they are talking about before posting their review, ironic I know, they would have easily found out that this "remake" is really a direct "ripoff" of a brilliant Australian show from just a few years ago.

It's all over YouTube and has was so controversial in the first place it was nearly banned from TV in Australia.

This show doesn't even come up with its own topics to "review". The first episode of this dreck uses the same topics of its much funnier and, indeed, original counterpart. How is that original? Andy Daly is boring. His forced "acting" style is so awkward I couldn't help but feel embarrassed for him. His "lovely assistant" is just not necessary to the show and is clearly only there to be the token "pretty girl" all shows in the US seem to require.

All the extras suck, as well. It's as if they all went to the same attended the School for Wooden Actors and even failed at that.

Since the ideas are a ripoff of the original it's pathetic that the writing of this show is so poorly and lazily done. They had great source material to draw from and they couldn't even to anywhere near a quality job.

Just skip this mess and watch the real original and refreshing Review with Myles Barlow on youtube.

This show is a weak reboot of the Australian show. It might have been better if Daly didn't play it as a fake character and actually performed some of the acts depicted, since fake reality TV is already a tiresome trope, it might have been a bit more entertaining if they used real people instead of extras posing as members of the public. It would have been better to really see him messed up on cocaine, or release a sex tape, the show is so weak its the only thing that can save it. Megan Stevenson is an annoying generic bubble-head, who essentially has no role on the show, other than to state the obvious to Daly, while auditioning for her next piece of sheet on the Fox News and Friends leg flesh stool.

Review with Myles Barlow was a great show, this American version is nothing like that. Just by adding a cute blonde in a short skirt they think they could make it cool? Nup, there is nothing of the sardonic humour in original.
