Here is a brief summary of what has happened. 3 August 2016: A 68-year-old man from Eskilstuna is found murdered in a summer cottage outside Arboga. The man's wife was also in the cabin, badly injured. August 30: The couple's 42-year-old daughter, Johanna Möller, and her 19-year-old boyfriend Mohammad Rajabi are arrested in Trondheim, Norway. Two days later, the suspects are arrested for murder and attempted murder of the elderly couple. October 25: The prosecutor requests to open the grave of Johanna Möller's former husband in order to perform an autopsy. The husband was found drowned in 2015. February 7, 2017: Police sources tell SVT Nyheter that Mohammad Rajabi admitted to murdering his girlfriend's father and trying to kill her mother. March 20: Johanna Möller is detained on probable cause on suspicion of the murder of her former husband. April 28: Charges are brought against Johanna Möller and Mohammad Rajabi. The couple is suspected of the murder and attempted murder at the summer cottage. June 28: The court decides that Möller is guilty of the murder of his father and the attempted murder of his mother. She is also guilty of inciting the murder of her husband. Rajabi is guilty of murder and attempted murder of Möl's father and mother. July 25: Neither Mohammad Rajabi nor Johanna Möller is judged to suffer from a serious mental disorder. There are therefore no obstacles for them to be sentenced to prison. August 9: Rajabi's age is determined to be 21 years. This means that he was 20 years old when the crime took place and therefore cannot be sentenced to life. August 21: Judgment is passed and the sentence is determined by the district court. 42-year-old Johanna Möller is sentenced to life imprisonment for murder and attempted murder of her parents. She is also sentenced for inciting the murder of her husband in 2015. Möller's ex-boyfriend Mohammad Rajabi is sentenced to 14 years in prison for the murder and attempted murder of her parents. September 8: Johanna Möller appeals the verdict to the Court of Appeal. Three days later, Mohammad Rajabi also appealed his sentence. November 7: The negotiations begin in Svea Court of Appeal and it is announced that they are expected to last until the end of January. January 30: In connection with the closing arguments, Johanna Möller submits a 73-page letter to the court in which she responds to the prosecutor's evidence: "My actions were taken from a psychology book, how an individual acts in shock," she writes in the letter. February 27: The Court of Appeal upholds the district court's verdict regarding the murder of the father and the attempted murder of the mother. However, Möller is acquitted of inciting the murder of her husband.
