- Open with Aria telling the rest of the girls about her meeting with guy who thought she was Vivian, a Duncan Albert. They're not sure what to make of the guy or his likely connection to Alison. The girls then see Jenna get out of a car looking as if she's had her eye operation.
Ashley will not let Hanna have another phone until she's more open about what's going on in her life.
At school Mona gives Hanna an old phone that bills to her. Aria is going to meet Duncan after school in the courtyard. Emily gets a text from Maya that reads: "I'm okay. Don't tell. More soon." Spencer runs into Toby in the hall and they have an awkward conversation. He says Jenna had the surgery in just one eye and they aren't yet sure how it went. Toby defends the fact he's been supporting Jenna and doesn't seem interested in discussion his relationship with Spencer.
Duncan asks if Aria is her real name. He wants to know Vivian's real name and is unaware that Alison died. He's upset to learn that her death is unsolved. Duncan says Alison talked to him about the four of them and that he spent a lot of time with her that summer. Duncan saw Alison the weekend she disappeared.
The girls all get a text from A: "Where there's smoke, there's payback." They see Toby speaking with the fire department and wonder if he's telling them the girls were the ones who blinded Jenna.
At the hospital Toby and Wren have a brief contentious dialogue. When Wren leaves Jenna pokes Toby about Wren's possible connection to Spencer.
Emily tells Spencer about hearing from Maya. Emily is conflicted about whether she should tell anybody. Jason tells them he has a bag of Alison's things that Maya dropped off at the house.
Ella drops by to see Ezra in his office. She wants to make clear that she's not an ally, but isn't as sure about wanting him gone as her husband. She asks him whether anybody tried to use the relationship against them.
Mona tells Hanna she's worried about what Jenna could do with her eyesight. Hanna wants to find a way to get Toby away from her for a few minutes.
Mona meets with Toby about buying his truck. This allows Hanna the chance to ask Toby if he's back with his sister in an attempt to hurt Spencer. He references what the girls did to Jenna.
Jason tells the girls Maya said she found the bag hidden in the attic. Inside they find her childhood music box. Veronica walks in while they're looking through the bag. She tells Spencer to stay away from Jason as it would "complicate things."
Duncan meets Aria at an airstrip where he used to take Alison flying. He takes Aria on a flight. While up in the air he asks if he was in love with her. He says he could have been, but someone else got in the way. Duncan lets Aria have a turn at the controls. He says when Alison flew it was the only time "they" couldn't get to her. She tells him about Ian and the fake suicide note. He tells Aria that the weekend she disappeared he flew her from Hilton Head to a field near Philadelphia.
Ezra calls Byron to his office and tells him he's not taking the position in New Orleans. He says he's doing it because he doesn't want Byron to "have that kind of power over me." Byron is furious as Ezra takes a stand for himself. When Byron leaves Ezra calls Aria and leaves a message.
Maya sends Emily an email. She says she's fine and isn't going to take any crazy chances. It is basically a good-bye.
Spencer is upset her mother is trying to ignore Jason. She tells him not to listen to Jason and Spencer tells her about thinking Peter was being blackmailed and him paying for a detective for Melissa. Veronica says the detective was her idea.
Hanna stops by Spencer's place to tell her about talking to Toby. Hanna noticed the things in the bag were wrapped in newspaper from two years earlier and there is text highlighted in various articles. They start to gather all the paper from the bag.
Byron and Ella argue over offering Ezra the job and how to handle the situation.
While Hanna is out back of Spencer's looking for newspapers she hears a noise in Jason's place. Jenna grabs the window and she sees the house is on fire. Hanna and Spencer pull Jenna out just before the place explodes.
Jenna wakes up in the hospital with Toby at her side. She says she got a text that Jason wanted to talk to her so she took a cab over there. Someone let her in and she doesn't remember anything else. He tells her that Hanna saved her life.
At the hospital Wren takes a large splinter out of Spencer's hand. He comments that fate seems to keep pushing them together. Wren asks if she regrets what happened between them. She says no.
In the waiting room Jason asks Aria why Jenna was at his house. He was on his way to Scranton when he got a call. Veronica arrives to check on Spencer and Jason ends up sitting next to her. Emily calls Maya's mother and tells her about the email.
Jenna wants to talk to all of the girls. They tell her Jason wasn't the one who sent them the text. She asks Hanna why she helped her. Hanna says "you're welcome."
The girls speculate who might have lured Jenna to Jason's place. They mention Garrett. They find a piece of a postcard in the music box. An advertisement for a noon concert is circled in the newspaper. We see someone place a police badge near the scene of the fire.
