- Jeff tells us the players this season think they know everything about the game, but they don't know that this time the two tribes will live together on one beach. "This is 'Survivor: One World'"
The tribes are quickly split between men and women. Colton is "horrified," calling himself "the girl within the guy tribe."
The ladies are feeling confident because they think men can't survive without women. A guy named Troy says "the guys will have no problem -- with anything."
Before being sent on their way, Jeff gives the tribes 60 seconds to strip everything they can off the truck they came in on. One of the guys immediately sets out to steal the women's stuff, including a pick-axe. After the minute passes, the ladies notice the axe is missing, and they call the guys cheaters.
Jeff gives the news that hidden idols are in play and Redemption Island is not. Once you're voted out this season, you're done. The two tribes are given maps and head out to their camps in different directions.
The guys are struggling to reach their camp given everything they have to bring with them. Sushi chef Jonas says he's most impressed with Leif, a little guy who can carry a lot of stuff.
On the women's hike, Kourney says she doesn't like the men versus women approach because women can be nice one minute and backstabbers the next. Alicia, meanwhile, is using the hike to determine who the stronger girls are and wants to align with them. She identifies herself, Kim, Chelsea and Sabrina. She also loves Kat, who is weak and irritating but apparently safe. Kim is apparently thinking about the same five, and she tells Sabrina.
The women's tribe, Salani, arrives at camp and they're the first to discover that the men's tribe, Manono, is in the same spot. There's mixed reaction.
There's a mad dash for some wild chickens and Chelsea, a self-proclaimed "country girl," eventually catches two of them with her bare hands. Literally holding one chicken by the feet in each of her hands, Chelsea is faced with the dilemma of whether to stay true to an impromptu deal that was made with the guys -- that each tribe would get a chicken after both tribes worked together to catch two of them. Chelsea decides to ask for something the guys have that the girls need.
Matt is upset and tells us that the girls should give up a chicken as "an apology."
Colton sits around while everyone else works, and tells us he wants to be "over there" with the girls, and they warmly accept him. Matt says Colton hasn't tried to fit in at all in the tribe of "manly guys," but Colton is telling the ladies that he can't wait to join them.
Matt thinks he, Mike, Jay and Bill -- "the young, fit guys" -- are going to be safe for a while because the stronger tribe members always stay at the beginning.
Colton goes over to the ladies and asks them outright to help him find a clue to an idol because he needs it more than anyone. Sabrina tells us she likes him.
The guys get a fire started and Sabrina quickly comes over to chat. She isn't particularly welcome. She asks if they'd be willing to take a deal: A guy can come start a fire for them in exchange for a chicken. The guys think this is laughable. They still feel like they're owed a chicken and they're not going to budge. At one point, the girls nearly offer to do some pole dancing in exchange for fire.
That night, the girls are cold and wanting a fire to sit around and decide to simply go over and ask. Jay thinks any deal with the girls is ludicrous.
While the guys are sleeping, Monica and Christina sneak over to the guys' camp and, with a long frond, steal some fire and sneak back over to their own camp.
We find out in the morning that the fire died. Christina comes over and asks the guys outright what it will take. Jonas says that if they weave 20 palm fronds in exchange for fire. Alicia is annoyed by Christina's apparently maneuvering and says Christina's going soon.
Sabrina goes to take a bath and decides to poke around for a hidden idol. It's apparently not so well hidden because without a clue she finds one -- except it's specifically for the Manono tribe, and the rules state that she must give it to a Manono member before the next Tribal Council. Now she has to figure out who she should give it to.
Colton again comes over and asks for an idol. Sabrina then tells us she thinks Colton is the obvious choice. She tells him about the idol she found. Colton thinks this is his "saving grace."
Immunity challenge: The tribes have to race through an obstacle course that starts with a 25-foot jump into a net that proves tricky for some. Kourtney, in particularly, lands hard on her hand when she fails to keep her arms close to her chest on the jump.
During the next stage of the race, Jeff stops the challenge so that Kourtney can be checked by the medical staff. The medic thinks Kourtney's arm might be broken but needs an X-ray to confirm. Jeff explains that because the challenge required nine players on each tribe to start and finish and the guys had the lead at the time the challenge was stopped, they have won. He gives them the option, though, as a gesture of good faith, to play out the challenge. The guys consider it briefly and decide to take the win, which really upsets the girls.
Nina, a retired LAPD officer, has a mangled face and doesn't know how it happened. Kim says she kind of understands the guys' decision, but she doesn't think any guy she knows would have taken the win.
Colton meets with Sabrina, who gives him the idol. She tells him to use it to take down one of the biggest players.
Sabrina pulls the girls together and gets to a serious conversation about who should stay and go. She's hoping Kourtney will opt out of the game to make the decision easy. Alicia is still annoyed with Christina and vows to "call her out" at Tribal.
Tribal Council: Jeff starts by teasing an update on Kourtney's condition but doesn't divulge anything.
Alicia says she's happy to be split from the guys. When Jeff asks about how they got fire, Christina says she made a deal with the guys for fire. Alicia pipes up and says it was "a shady trade" that two girls would weave palm fronds. Christina wants to set the record straight and while Alicia keeps talking over her, she tells Alicia to "shut up."
Jeff says there's clearly no leader and there's "huge animosity" between at least two players and there's no structure. The ladies think it's a little funny.
Jeff's update on Kourtney is that she's in good spirits, but her wrist is broken in a few places. It will require surgery and she's out of the game. There will also not be anyone else going home tonight.
Kourtney's last words: "I'm not so proud of myself right now ... but if my son sees something positive about me from this experience, I would love to think that he thinks I'm a strong woman -- even though it was only three days."
