Draymond, Just No

Draymond Green trying to use Indian spiritual nonsense to help him not be a total jerk. I like Draymond's take on things, but the spiritual aspect with Deepak and the girl, that's just nonsense and it feels so "I'm rich, I need a spiritual guide now" vibe that just isn't Draymond. He can keep it real without the nonsense of this silly new-age practice. I'd rather see him do real talk with other athletes than this.

The stuff about his daughter's illness, I would have kept that off the show. She might not want it aired later. That's his call. Whatever he's dealing with, it got him to where he is. Trying to suppress the feelings so he can be "at peace" might put him in the audience instead of on the floor. Sure, Deepak has "never been sick" but he's never won an NBA championship either.

I am more than an athlete.

Very inspirational. As a sports fan and an athletic trainer whose taken courses in sports psychology, the mental relationship that athletes must have with themselves is very important in their ability to be successful. The stages of grief after injury, the pressures to preform, the ability to disconnect when they're with their families is indeed a fine line. Most people do not have to have a competitive on/off switch when dealing with their careers. Imagine having to give it your physical all one night, then calm yourself down that same night to live a normal life. Tom Brady is an EP of this series (along with Dray) and seeing what they have in store for future episodes is going to be interesting. I'd love to see Tiger Woods, Dale Jr., a Peyton Manning. Those that were or still are at their peak performance to analyze their thought process. What makes them different? What made them elite? The probability of being an athlete is already difficult enough and the odds are always stacked against you, but being a top tier superstar makes that number skyrocket. Mental health is real and whatever and whomever can assist in shedding some like on how to deal with it, is special in my book.

Losing bothers me, way more than winning fulfills me

I like this take on the mental side of athletes and Draymond Green is the definition of the most emotional but most realist athlete in today's sports.

In the Head of Competitive Sports

First, they could not have picked a more interesting athlete than Draymond Green for the first episode. If you have ever played competitive sports or if you love basketball you will be hanging on every word. This is exactly the focus athletes need and maybe our country needs now. I look forward to the next episode. Thank you.
