Sex & Nudity

  • A woman and her husband have sex. The scene lasts about 30 seconds. Naked backs are seen, but no organs or breasts.
  • Afterwards, alone, the woman talks to another man via telepathy. They can each see, hear, and feel what the other does, and the man says that he can tell she feels "weird." She says that it's because she was just engaged in "activities" (sex with her husband). They are not in telepathic communication during the sex with husband scene.
  • While drunk, the same woman romps around her house in a button-up shirt and panties. She stands in front of a full-length mirror and strips down to just her bra and panties so the man can see her body through her eyes. Her underwear is not "skimpy" or revealing. They both lie down and begin touching themselves all over so that they can feel each other's body through the other's hands. This happens in very fast flashes lasting only a few frames each. They both reach down into their underwear. That part lasts less than a second. It is implied that they both masturbate, each feeling what the other feels.

Violence & Gore

  • There are three very brief fistfights. In one of them, a man pulls out a gun and tells the two aggressors to leave his bar. Face punches occur, but no extended fights.

Profanity

  • Three clear f-words. A few "God dammit"s and "sh*t"s.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • There is beer-drinking drinking throughout the film and a few characters get drunk. One character drinks a single shot of whiskey.
  • A woman in a mental hospital tells a man that she took some pills because her doctor told her to.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Two people are connected telepathically and see, feel, and hear what the other does. When one of them is hurt the other feels the pain and experiences the trauma also. This might seem slightly scary.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • As she escapes from a mental hospital, a woman punches her husband, a doctor, in the face.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A little girl sleds down a hill and slams into a tree face-first and is knocked unconscious. It is shown through the girls eyes, and you see the tree approaching the camera very fast. The scene is startling, even to an adult. The girl's body lies inert, face-down in the snow. She appears dead. You do not know that she is still alive until later in the movie.
