Story like an onion
mikkiparker26 July 2022
The drama started off strong but after a few episodes, it was getting too boring and long. The attempt at melodrama with excessive use of sad songs and long shots of crying/sad people started to be irritating towards the end.

The plot was too simple for a 16-episode drama. 12 episodes would be sufficient enough. There were episodes that were so unnecessary I can't even remember them. Too many side stories and boring dialogues just to make a 16-episode drama. Like an onion, a simple plot idea wrapped in too many layers to make it into a standard-length drama.

The premise and idea were good but executed poorly in terms of twists and turns. The melodramatic attempt became irritating. The story got boring not even halfway through, a lot of the main characters' decisions didn't make sense (weren't rational) and were made only to prolong the story. However, I did find Gye Hoon's relationship with Da Hyun rather adorable. Both leads did a great job portraying their characters.

Overall, it's an okay drama. The story gets boring around halfway through and it's average but watchable.

Unconventional, funny and heartwarming with a bit of fantasy
hanalisss29 July 2022
This drama is freaking brilliant.

I don't know what I was expecting when I started this series but it certainly surpassed my expectations by a mile.

This is the least conventional, typical or stereotypical drama ever.

It has everything to keep you on edge the whole time from slow burn sweet romance, loyalty, family bonds, tension, thrilling scenes filled with mystery and it has amazing comedy scenes but then it is deep and it analyzes emotions and feelings through the fantastic elements.

The most amazing part of the show is the freakingly awesome relationship between the trio of super women mom, grandmother and the daughter, the trio nails the comedy and they show such strong bond and loyalty to one another it will move all your feelings.

They are nothing cliché and they show how strong and fierce a woman will be when someone threatens their family doing anything and everything to keep their them safe ( like a tigress defending her cubs).

The only thing I didn't like and that lowered my rating a few points is the fact that the girl is always useless regarding defending herself against anyone attacking her, literally stays put, allowing them to beat her or grabbing her or whatever they want, and the guy ( or funnily enough her mother or grandma) have to come to the rescue, it's just very annoying.

I had so much fun watching this and if you love kdrama but at the same time you are looking for something different, this is the one for you.

Good Enough
PennyReviews3 November 2022
Korean Drama " Link: Eat, Love, Kill " is a fantasy, romance drama with lots of food.

The drama had a bumpy start, but finds quickly its footing. And even though the romance is weak, fueled by the fantasy element that was awkward, cheesy at times, and not well explained, the friendship between the characters was enjoyable, as was the family bonds between the mother, grandmother, and daughter.

The criminal case was pretty interesting as well, very dark and twisted. It was what kept the interest high, as the romance and the rest of the story got boring and full of cliches.

The performances, in addition, were all great and the couple had chemistry.

So, overall, six out of ten.

Wellllll
favourfranklin29 July 2022
It was genuinely captivating for about the first 8 episodes then it began to drag out. I see this alot with kdrama these days. I knew romance was gonna be introduced but the romance kinda ruined it. They spent so much time on unnecessary shots of the couple and totally forgot about the mystery. Tbh after episode 11 they should have revealed that culprit at episode 12. I just couldn't finish it. It dragged out so I dropped it.

I was waiting so long for this series to come out and after watching the fist few episode i was so glad i waited as it exceeded my expectations. Not only does it have an amazing cast, the overall story line is fascinating. I love the slow building romance, that gives me butterflies. SO READY FOR THE NEW EPISODE COMING OUT ON TUESDAY.

Highly recommend watching!

Keep you at the edge of your seat !
priyagoswami-9447211 June 2022
I have seen only two episodes and it is so edgy that it will make you hold to your seat.

I am sure if I would have chosen to watch it after release of all the episodes, then definitely I would have binged it in one go. I am expecting this grey shade genre in upcoming episodes as well.

Worth A Watch Once
elc200519 September 2023
"Kim Sun-Ho was first offered the lead male role, but declined."

All I have to say to that is THANK GOD! No offense to him but I would've been too distracted by his face and not in a good way.

Jin-goo has taken my heart by storm. Something about his voice just makes me feel things.

Thank you to him and my girl Ga Young for giving us the BEST first kiss of the decade. Eyes closed, arms and hands wrapped up in each other, like a true romantic first kiss should be. (Reading later that they have been RL friends since childhood so it might have been weird for them but GREAT for us viewers)

The series itself is not without it's flaws, but the cast was so strong I can overlook the plot points that had me scratching my head. The mom/grandma duo need a show of their own lol. But the dad? Was there some footage left on the floor??

Anyway, watch it for Jin Goo if you are a fan because you definitely won't be able to get enough of him!

So captivating

I absolutely love the story line and the main actor and actress. This has been exciting, funny, sad and suspenful from the beginning.

Her mother and grandmother are the best so natural playing this role together.

Beyond Evil's evolution
jackybrown228 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I first saw Yeo Jin-gu in Beyond Evil and he was great in the role. But when I saw him in Hotel Del Luna I was not impressed. But in The Moon that embraces the Sun he earned loads of credit. So I wanted to watch this series. It started good and then went into a gear that I will call 'Beyond Evil' because I was left trying to see who the 2nd antagonist was. This series has the right amount of love, intrigue, murder and pure disgust.

Be prepared to want to hurt the 1st antagonist, then the 2nd. What happened to the little girl and all the adults who could have helped will leave you praying that people in real life will not be like this.

Btw, I like the concept of feeling someone's emotions. Talk about being close.

Wonderful Romance Thriller With a Twist
fake_moviestar5 August 2022
Link doesn't bring anything hugely new to the thriller genre, although the premise of being "linked" through emotions was interesting and gave a different flavor to the show. The mystery of the ML's missing sister was very well done with tightly written twists and well-rounded villains. The main cast are all likeable and interesting. The romance was built up in a very believable way and the ML and FL had decent chemistry. The soundtrack was amazing and really elevated the show. I am glad I waited to binge watch it because it is a very addicting show that keeps you on the edge of your seat! Highly recommend it and rate it an 8.5.

Super intriguing storyline
DramaHitchhiker16 October 2022
I took up this drama after watching the amazing chemistry of the leading characters in the various youtube fan videos. To my surprise, this series turned out to be very interesting and peaked my curiosity till the last few episodes. Almost every episode ended on a cliffhanger and the story had a nice balance of humour and suspense.

My only critic for this series is that the story could have been framed a little better towards the end. After a super thrilling first half of the series, the identification of the suspect in the second becomes way too simplistic. The suspect doesn't even try to try to save himself or cover his steps. Another questionable aspect is on why does the suspect doesn't engage in any other crime in the 20 years gap shown in the show. If a little twist could have been given to these aspects in the show, it would have been the top thriller-comedy of the year.

Great one to watch
nsonontsii10 October 2023
I enjoyed every second of this drama. I've been struggling to start and finish dramas lately, choosing to just rewatch old ones. This one though, this one kept me captivated all the way through, from start to finish. I saw some reviews saying that some episodes were draggy and all that, but I didn't experience any of that. I like how everything played out, how everyones story just blended together to form this beautiful drama. The mother/daughter/grandmother relationship was just-chef's kiss, first drama I've watched with this kind of relationship. They are so effortlessly funny, and I love how the grandma was always ready to fight for her granddaughter, no questions asked she just grabs her weapon lol. I loved the leads together, and I love how they relationship wasn't made the focal point of this drama it almost felt subtle and natural. Then there's the stalker; man, does the actor know how to portray a crazy character, it was quite creepy- the smiles/smirks, laugh and the looks/stares(or I'm just a scaredy cat, tbf I watched this at night). I have so much to say but I don't want to give out spoilers, so I'm just going to leave it here.

Extremely funny and awesome chemistry between the casts
jacksonaj-0498226 July 2022
A really moving k-drama due to the superb acting from all the casts of the show. The screen chemistry between the lead actor and actress is simply out of the chart. Thoroughly enjoyed this show, highly recommended for all to watch!

Forgiveness and Loss
svynronin19 April 2024
I started this thinking it would be your typical Korean romance drama, and was surprised at how it turned into a dark comedy. It took a few episodes to get into it, but it was especially satisfying to see the female characters in the show. The grandmother is my favorite, and she has a great story once you learn it at the end. The show does a good job of building characters as the show progresses. It's easy to find yourself not liking someone, then once you get to know them, you find yourself liking them. There were at least 3 characters I didn't like, but by the end I really liked them. Something should be said regarding that in life as well. Sometimes we're quick to judge others, but once we truly get to know them we find we like them. I watched the show with subtitles since I don't know Korean, but it was worth it. I liked how they didn't have to show us excessive violence despite the dark material regarding abduction and murder. There were two times for some reason the subtitles quit working, but I found if you rewind just a little bit they come back up. The story was different, heart warming, and had good character development. It wasn't your typical predictable story with excessive violence and unlikable characters who constantly make bad choices like so many HBO dramas. The best part was its a story of loss and forgiveness. Several characters have to learn to live with those two themes and it comes to a good conclusion. I enjoyed it, and I looked forward to watching it each night to see where the story would go. The the soundtrack gets a little overplayed by the end but helps. The best parts is each character is dealing with their own demons of both past and present and that's why it got a high rating from me. I enjoyed each character's story arc. It expands beyond the two main characters, and like a Dickens story has a lot of characters by the end that you learn a little something about and add to the overall story.
