We’ve all been there. You’re feeling a little under the weather (after catching a cold or catching too many shots at the bar, you know, whichever reason it may be), and you hear your mother’s voice in your head: “Stay in bed,” she says. “Get your rest. I’ll just turn on the TV for you, so you can relax.”
Lying in bed is generally awesome, but when you’re not feeling great, it can be more of a bitter experience than a sweet one. You’re sweltering under the covers until you kick them off and freeze to death. You can’t get comfortable because of the itchy sheets or baggy pajamas. You need to rest, but you need a distraction. The solution? A good TV show to accompany you and your grogginess!

Here at Et, we’re obsessed with a lot of things – and this is what we’re most excited about this week:
Why We’re Obsessed With Judi Dench
For the second time in 20 years, Dame Judi Dench is tasked with portraying Queen Victoria—this time in Stephen Frears’ Victoria and Abdul, an unofficial sequel to her Oscar-nominated turn in Mrs. Brown, about the friendship between an Indian Muslim functionary and the monarch of England. Her portrayal is earning her rave reviews, which will certainly mean more of Dench during awards season as she promotes the Oscar-bait film and the upcoming star-studded mystery, Murder on the Orient Express, which is in theaters on Nov. 10. Already, she’s rapped with British grime star Lethal Bizzle and been quite cheeky in interviews, revealing she’s mooned Harvey Weinstein, has a tattoo on her bum and that she’s crushing on Johnny Depp. Bow down!

Eight different versions of “Blade Runner” have been shown in one form or another, five of which are well known: the workprint, the theatrical cut, the international cut, the director’s cut, and the final cut. In a new interview with Europe Plus, Denis Villeneuve says that “Blade Runner 2049” won’t be so complicated — there will be no director’s cut, he explains, because the version arriving in theaters next month is the director’s cut.

“The thing is, the movie you’re going to see is the director’s cut,” says Villeneuve, who most recently directed “Arrival” and “Sicario.” “There will be no further…maybe there’ll be a ‘studio version’ [laughs], maybe a producer version, but not a director’s version. A man who provided an ever-shifting account about his claim that he dug up Natalee Holloway’s remains in Aruba was deemed “not a credible source” by an Aruban police chief in Saturday’s final episode of a docu-series about the mystery.
But that didn’t diminish the pained disgust of Natalee’s dad, Dave Holloway, who observed that the man apparently kept and hid a plastic baggie of unidentified dug-up bone fragments “as a prize, so to speak,” according to the six-part Oxygen series The Disappearance of Natalee Holloway.

In the days before premium cable, television was a squeaky-clean place for the most part. The traditional networks rarely dared to push boundaries when it came to graphic sexual content for fear of pissing off advertisers. (And when they did, as with ABC’s “NYPD Blue,” affiliates and advertisers did indeed balk on cue.)
But then came HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, Starz, and a slew of other networks, which asked for a little extra subscriber cash, but offered in exchange unfiltered violence, language, and sex. Without that creative freedom, it’s doubtful that television as a storytelling art form would have evolved in the same way, especially when it comes to sex — one of the most primal aspects of humanity that the broadcast networks kept behind closed doors for far too long.
Because different things are sexy to different people, this list is unranked — streaming platforms and ad-supported cable networks will be saved for future lists.

Street Justice: The Bronx is a new TV show that has started up on Discovery. Like its name suggests, it is centered around a NYPD officer named Ralph Friedman. who has had a rather exciting career to say the least. Here are five things that you may or may not have known about Street Justice: The Bronx: Friedman Became a Police Officer By Chance After he graduated from high school, Friedman became a mover. With the fall television season kicking into high gear, several returning favorites have undergone noteworthy changes.
Whether it’s major casting shuffles on Once Upon a Time and Grey's Anatomy or unexpected departures on Hawaii Five-0 and Chicago P.D., there’s never a dull moment when it comes to keeping track of the upcoming 2017-18 season.
Et highlights seven returning TV shows that will have a different look and feel this fall.

Chicago P.D. lost a big member of their department when Sophia Bush abruptly left the show in May. The show hinted at Bush's departure in the season four cliffhanger finale, when her character, Erin Lindsay, considered taking a job with the FBI in New York -- but the NBC cop drama looked internally for her replacement. Revolution alum Tracy Spiridakos made her Chicago P.D. debut at the end of season four, when her character, a robbery...

Every fall, television networks proudly debut their most eligible new shows with the hopes that smitten viewers will fall head over heels and invite them home. Unfortunately, not every small screen first date ends up with a full-season commitment and a weekly cuddle on the couch.
To help you swipe through the quickly-canceled creeps to find the refreshing gems with long-term potential, Et has created your ultimate romance guide for the 2017 Fall TV Season. We're breaking down 20 shows by category and then telling you why you should "Love It!", "Date It" or "Leave It."
Love It! Listen, we get it. Imagining a multi-season marriage to a show after only seeing the pilot is a little unrealistic, but sometimes it's just love at first watch. This is the show you'll be daydreaming about. The one you'll casually, but consistently, mention in conversations with your coworkers. It’s perhaps the question the IndieWire TV team gets asked the most right now: “Is there anything good to watch this fall?” That’s sort of a loaded question, and always hard to answer. With so much TV available, there’s almost something suited to anyone’s taste.
IndieWire’s TV team — including Hanh Nguyen, Liz Shannon Miller, Steve Greene and Ben Travers — joins host Michael Schneider to discuss what they’re most excited to see in the coming months, on this edition of “Turn It On.” Listen below!
Among the highlights: Everyone is looking forward to see what creator Mike Schur does with Season 2 of NBC’s “The Good Place,” and there’s also interest in Dick Wolf’s “Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders”; Netflix’s “Alias Grace,” based on a Margaret Atwood novel; and ABC’s “The Good Doctor,” adapted from a South Korean drama.

“You don’t like country music, do you? You think it’s corny and twangy and kind of stupid? Well, you could be right, but it’s always good to keep an open mind.”
Like most fans of country music, Mike Judge is sick of people dismissing his musical genre of choice. A New Mexico native and consistent chronicler of working class folks from small American towns, it should come as no surprise to even casual fans that the “King of the Hill” creator has a penchant for musicians like Johnny Paycheck, Jerry Lee Lewis, and George Jones; so much so, he’s created a new, unique documentary series to honor their most madcap memories.
Though it’s unlikely to win over any of the haters Judge repeatedly alludes to, his latest primetime animated venture should entertain and inform devotees on the creator or country music.

Much has been made about what category — and therefore what genre — “Transparent” fits into; a counterproductive twist, considering the series’ purpose is about being yourself and fighting to protect what makes you you, no matter what. To decry or detract from the series because it’s not funny enough to be a comedy or not long enough to be a drama seems especially silly after watching Maura Pfefferman (Jeffrey Tambor) and her striver family seek acceptance for being beautifully, wonderfully weird; for standing out; for not fitting into boxes.
And yet, Season 4 has a genre problem. It’s not that Jill Soloway’s new episodes dip too far into drama. Individually, a lot of the more emotionally intense stories carry great resonance. Many haven’t been told before — like the central engine of Season 4, a family trip to Israel — or they at least haven’t been depicted in such an...

Despite her August social media purge, the “old” Taylor Swift was a well-known celebrity cat lover who adored showing off her kitties online — and it appears that aspect of her personality is still intact.
The pop star just posted three new videos to her recently revamped Instagram, and one of those posts featuring her white Scottish Fold, Olivia Benson, will have her cat lady squad purring with delight.
In the video, which appears to be an outtake from Swift’s new At&T ad campaign, the singer crawls across the floor and asks Olivia in a baby voice, “Are you a saber-toothed tiger cub?...

Warner Brothers made headlines last week when it announced it was developing a standalone Joker movie to be directed by “The Hangover” filmmaker Todd Phillips and, shockingly, produced by Martin Scorsese. The latter’s involvement was head-scratching, as Scorsese has never shown interest in making a major studio tentpole or superhero film. But The Hollywood Reporter has uncovered a major reason why Warner Brothers wanted Scorsese behind the scenes: The studio hopes to lure Scorsese muse Leonardo DiCaprio to star.

DiCaprio has never starred in a Hollywood tentpole, but sources told THR that Warner Brothers is hoping Scorsese’s involvement as producer will be enough to convince the movie star to join the film. The movie will be the first under a new Warner Brothers banner that allows DC characters and stories be taken out of canon and reinterpreted with new actors.
