- Mostly slapstick violence. However, in one scene Jhilmil's father beats up Barfi in a very serious manner, and this scene has the potential to upset some viewers.

- Infrequent uses of "rascal". Also in one scene a character says "damn you!" for atleast 2-3 times.

- Intensity is occasionally present as one character is autistic. Also the film is emotional, and gets more emotional near the end. However, the comic elements balance this.
