- Todd's dog, Manchee, is forcefully drowned in a river by a man onscreen as he whimpers while Todd tries to swim to save him and screams. It is graphic and can be upsetting to some viewers.
- One of the characters is set on fire. Might be a bit disturbing for younger children.
