Not as bad as the reviews say

While it is worth noting that this game has limited enemy character designs over all it was a very fun game with a new twist, you can't die. Well there is 1 way to die but I won't spoil it here.

The main character has a fun personality and has a wide range of weapons in his arsenal. You have a sidekick and she handles herself rather well so you don't always have to save her. The levels include a destructible environment and look nice too.

Boss battles are never boring and the voice actors did a good job in the American adaptation. I do however wish they released the American version with a choice of the original Japanese voice-over. There are also some cool Upgrades you can purchase for your character. I enjoyed the flashbacks the main character has of before he became immortal, it really made the experience more enjoyable.

All in I give it a 7/10

Great Premise. Bad Execution

Warning: Spoilers
A new IP for 2012, Konami and Rebellion have thought of a great video game idea where the hero is an immortal and cannot die (unless you get eaten by a grand baby, you'll see when you play). If your limbs do happen to detach from your body, you are able to regenerate. In this game you play as a hero named Bryce Boltzman, a 500 year old demon hunter, who is aided by a woman named Arcadia who, unlike you, is not an immortal and you will have to take damage in order to protect her. You are able to use a variety of weapons including, handguns, SMG's, Assault Rifles, Grenade Launchers, and you will also be equipped with a huge sword. Throughout the stages, you will find XP. With the XP, you are able to unlock/upgrade abilities like 'Increased Jump' etc. Now the annoying and frustrating things about Neverdead. Even if an enemy gives you the slightest touch, your whole body will explode and you will be spending much time trying to get your body back together. Th4n, once your body is back together, you will get hit again and you'll spend more time trying to get your body back (very frustrating). You will probably spend more time getting your limbs back then actually fighting the enemies. Also, it gets annoying when you realise you're fighting the same enemies over and over again. There are probably like 6 enemy types in the game (Grandbabies, Puppies, Flying Demons, Rolling demons, Inflators, and Plant things that have blades for heads). Apart from the boss battles, it gets a little repetitive fighting the same enemies. Also, the game has horrible tutorial tips. There will be times where you would not know what to do or how to do certain things and the game would just not explain these things at times. OK, if you like interesting stories, interesting characters, good graphical design, you're going to like this game. However, the game play is a let down. The single player campaign is approx. 6-8 hours and then you will be able to experience the multi-player mode.
