The Exit List

Warning: Spoilers
I am always up for trying a new game show if it is advertised and promoted a lot, like this one was, and it is quite a clever concept, as it used a good amount of elements to play. Hosted by Matt Allwright, with Kait Borsay as the voice of the Maze, and break time voice overs by Andrew Scarborough. Basically two contestants, a couple, friends or work colleagues usually, enter a series of rooms in "The Memory Maze", twenty six rooms in total, and it will either offer money for a correct answer for a question, or it will flash red indicating a Panic Room, which there are five of. If they get a question they will get it based on a subject, e.g. Celebrities, Number Ones, Volcanoes, etc, but the titles could be misleading, and the contestants have to get the correct answer, and this answer will be added to The Exit List, a list of words and phrases they have to remember to get out at the end with the money they win, if they get the question wrong, all four options go on the list. If it is one of the five Panic Rooms they enter, then they will be shown a series of pictures with words that they have to recall and indicate when they come up again, any they do not get or pass will be turned into a Panic Code they have to remember, e.g. Papa Smurf becomes "P", and all letters or numbers left make the code they have to remember at the end. The first room on the first row wins them £1,000, the second row rooms could win them £2,000, the third row rooms could win them £3,000, the fourth row could win them £4,000, the fifth row could win them £5,000, and the sixth and final row could win them £10,000, or one room contains the jackpot prize of £100,000. After they have had enough of the game and they have either an amount of money they are happy with, or too many answers that they think it's a good idea to stop, the two players choose a cylinder each, the shortest will indicate who will recall The Exit List. The other player leaves The Memory Maze, and without the other player knowing is made a cash offer that they can accept or reject, if they accept then they will leave the game with that amount, whether the other player gets out with the money or not, or they can reject and hope that they do get out with the cash. The route that the players travelled through The Memory Maze is removed, and when the clock (time based on how much money they have, e.g. £136,000 = 136 seconds) begins, the player recalls all the words or phrases, one by one, in any order they like, and obviously if they remember everything they get the money if the other rejected, and if they didn't remember everything hopefully they win the offer money. So this game is a great test of memory, it is fun to join in with as you can answer the questions at home and hope they know the answers too, and you are gripped to see if they will remember everything and get the money they collect, a most watchable game show. Very good!
