A crazy and beautiful film!
alexanderliljefors6 February 2024
Much better then the first one! This movie was wierd, just as the first one. But it also was genuinely much more funnier and it felt much more authentic. Lukas Moodysson does a fantastic job as director!

The music and filming is very well made! Its abit artistic.

It definitely has it wierd and very raw parts, also as in the first one. But its very beautifully made.

The acting is very well performed and Gustaf Hammarsten does a fantastic performence!

"Tillsammans 99" is a totally crazy and a very beautiful film! I reallt recommend it. Be prepered for something very unique, that you rarley see in cinema.

Disappointing and meaningless follow-up
orjan-lundberg25 February 2024
This is is a textbook example of how not to do a sequel. It squanders the potential of its premise and cast with bad acting and a storyline that bewilders more than it entertains.

This film serves as a reminder that a successful follow-up requires more than just riding on the coattails of its predecessors-it needs a heart, something Tilsammans 99 sorely lacks. Fans of the original would do well to temper their expectations or perhaps skip this installment altogether, lest they tarnish their memories of a the first installment.

Moreover, the sequel fails to capture the original's charm and depth, coming off as a hollow imitation. Where its predecessor skillfully balanced action, character development, and thematic depth, "tillsammans 99" leans too heavily into spectacle without the substance to back it up. It's a classic case of style over substance, with flashy visuals and action sequences that momentarily dazzle but ultimately leave the viewer feeling empty.

Disappointing and meaningless follow-up
niclas-763-85361227 January 2024
I loved the original movie, which can be regarded as a masterpiece. It was full of warmth and wit, and with engaging, talented actors. This follow-up, made 25 years later, unfortunately lacks everything that the original movie could offer. The actors seem tired and bored. If you loved the original movie, you will hate this one, it's really that bad. So, don't waste your time on this. It seems that it was made purely to milk some money. Once upon a time, Lukas Moodysson made exciting movies and Tillsammans (2000) was the best one in my opinion. But this one I think most people would prefer to forget.

Could this even surpass the original?

Warning: Spoilers
Rarely do sequels live up to the original, but this film is not your typical sequel - it is not made because of the popularity of the previous film, but rather an epilogue made by an artist.

It doesn't try to replicate the tone of the original film, but rather Moodysson does his own thing as ever, conveying a somewhat darker, somber and more realistic tone. It all works beautifully and adds a lot to what was said in the original.

The actors, of course, all do an incredible job. It is the acting elite of Sweden, after all. The incredible script is conveyed beautifully.

The cinematography, cutting and editing is splendid, Moodysson's typical scaled back and deliberately low key style works wonderfully. Very beautifully put together.

Overall, this sequel is very different from the original, so it is hard to compare. But both are incredible in their own right. Great drama!

The movie that refused to end.
jojjo7616 January 2024
Had some hopes for this one since I really enjoyed the first one. Despite all the good actors this was a real sleeping pill and felt like it was 4 hours long. Just wanted it to end. Forced my self to some mercy laughs a couple of times just because when it tried to be funny i wasnt, so I felt sorry for the actors and laughed anyway, akward. Probably worst film I've seen since Ang Lee's The Hulk. So if you are one of those who thinks its exiting to watch paint dry, just do that instead, Save your money, your well-beeing and your time. Also, my wife thought it was bad to, so now you know it is!!

Wow , how is it even possible to fail this one ? Really, there are so many different ways to do this movie thats it must basicly be harder to write a bad script than a good one

Its so simple, bring the characters back , now they are older, change their minds and after a good start with laugh and hugs let the drama begins and repeat same situations from 75 in different angles

But no ,, let it be a strange and boring manus without humour and let the viewer keep wondering in the whole movie why ,, why even bother to put toghetter this garbage

Some joker did a review with 10 stars, guess he mixed this one with the first because that one is brilliant, and loved the idea to do a new one 99 but what a disaster it went and Im not even disapointed, Im angry , what a missed oppurtunity and so much potential that throwned away , this should had been suffocated in its cradle , it should not have been borned.
