Darker episode but still good

It's addressing a serious topic here but still a good episode with a lot of funny parts. The part where Joe didn't know Chris's name was hilarious

Huh???

Even if the subject matter weren't handled with the delicacy of a toddler on roller skates ("it only hurts when I see!" and so on), people don't watch this annoying ass show to see anything remotely close to emotionally resonant, which this tries to be and fails miserably.

Literally haven't seen this episode in close to ten years but I remember hating it so much and so many little bits of it that just annoyed the hell out of me. Just so incredibly ignorant to the real issues it attempts to address while simultaneously being unable to decide if it wants to play the topic of domestic abuse as straight and real or light and comedic.

Either one of those would have been a horrible turn for this series, which had already been on the air for about three years too long by this point. Bad excuse for a television episode.

Great episode

Everyone who gave this episode a 1 clearly didn't finish the episode. In no way is this episode making light of physical and sexual abuse. They literally say how bad it is multiple times in the episode. It's a funny episode with a great message.

No Tact

There's ways to tactfully handle tough or inherently grim subjects, Family Guy completely misses the mark. As someone whose experienced domestic violence myself, this episode just gives terrible flashbacks to instances when I was being abused. The fact that thus shows tries to make jokes out of Brenda being physically beaten by her boyfriend is NOT OK. It is currently estimated that 50-60% of women murdered were killed by their romantic partner.

Domestic violence is a very real, serious issue. It's estimated that a minimum of 25-33% of women and 14% men will experience domestic violence at some point in their life. Comedy is supposed to make you laugh, not give you flashbacks to a traumatizing point in your life.

Super hilarious!

Who else but Quagmire? Quagmire is up to his old shenanigans. Erotic Asphyxiation to clown porn, there's nothing Quagmire wont do. Good ol Quagmire. Now we get to see what was a quick gag-scene in a previous episode (Jeff and Brenda) turn into a full episode. Remember how funny it was when Brian said she looks like she likes it rough, well this episode takes it further. All the jokes land, just like Jeff's punches on Brenda.

This episode had it all, from domestic violence to murder. It's definitely a must watch.

No words can describe how terrible this one is...

Here's a question: Is Family Guy a comedy or a drama? Because I don't think it can do both! Family Guy is a show where people beat each other up, but this episode is talking about how serious domestic violence is. And according to this episode, you should murder that abuser you're with! WTF?! This episode is lucky that this doesn't trigger me! Everything about this episode is awful, though I did like the Iraq Lobster scene. But this episode is just garbage.
