Experimenting with looks is the in-thing and Bollywood actors have begun going to great lengths to get the skin of their characters. Salman Khan toned his body further and added a moustache for Dabangg. Akshay Kumar will follow suit playing a policeman in Rowdy Rathore. Aamir Khan actually grew a moustache to fit into the cop.s role in Talaash. And as if these are not enough, Bollywood has a new chameleon now.Sachiin Joshi, whose debut film Aazaan stunned the industry with its amazing action and production values last year and even bagged a Stardust Award for it, is pulling all stops to play a quirky cop in his next film Mumbai Mirror. To begin with, just like Aamir, the actor is growing a stylish moustache for it, instead of going for a fake one. .Having the perfect look goes a long way in making the character look authentic.

Prashant Chadha’s Aazaan is rumoured to be one of the most expensive movies til date to be churned out by Indian cinema. Tackling the never-touched-on subject of Bioterrorism, the movie’s hype was rife much before its release. With no well-known name as protagonist and a promise of a gripping tale to leave audiences thinking that this was the new era of Bollywood, Aazaan’s world premiere in Dubai only added to the excitement and hope that surrounded the film.
The story revolves around an officer from India’s Raw (an intelligence agency), Aazaan Khan (played by newcomer Sachiin Joshi), who – in order to build his reputation – is sent to various countries that have experienced terrorist attacks. He is portrayed as an expert somewhat to seek out the culprits and kill them. He sets out to clear his brothers name, who Raw believes was involved in the London Underground bombings.

Yesterday saw the release of Azaan, the Indian International espionage thriller by new comer Sachin Joshi and ad filmmaker Prashant Chadha (who previously directed Aap Ka Suroor with Himesh Reshamiya, but we shouldn’t hold that against him).

Sachiin Joshi's Bollywood debut proved to be not as smooth as he would like it to be. Curiously it's not just Joshi who is being targeted by the Samajwadi Party for the title Aazaan, which according a section of the political party, is a sacred word meaning the Holy Prayers and cannot be used in a populist format. With Samjawadi members apparently threatening theatre owners across Mumbai against screening the film, the controversy got a curious twist in its tale when it came to light that earlier this week Samajwadi members stormed the Cbfc (Censor Board Of Film Certifications)'s CEO Pankaja Thakur's office demanding to know why a film with such a sacred title was given an 'A' certificate. Just a few days back we had reported how Aazaan was naming China as India's main enemy instead of Pakistan. Well, seems quite a few out there have noticed these developments as well, most notably being the Censor Board, which has objected to this accusation. Result? The word 'China' has been muted in the film. Informs a source, "Censor Board felt that naming China as a conspirator here was rather unnecessary and could be done away with. Though Pakistan has been acknowledged as India's prime enemy in dozens of films since Aamir Khan's Sarfarosh and audience too has become almost used to that, China being named as a part of a mainstream film could well open the can of worms. The Board felt that instead of raking up a controversy that could well impact global relationship between different countries, Aazaan could well do without it." The makers have of...

Click above for more movie stills Seems like there is a rocky journey ahead for Aazaan en route to its next Friday release. Even though the film has seen it's promotion intensify during last couple of months and has been in news for over a year right through it's making, there are some political parties that have woken up to the supposedly 'volatile content' that the film carries. While there are questions being raised about the intent and content of the film, the first thing that has caught the attention of Samajwadi Party and Mns (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) is the very title of the film. "Azaan is a holy word but these parties have a doubt whether the film actually propagates peace or is instead a violent saga of global terrorism", says a source, "Since the film has a Muslim protagonist being the central character, the makers of Aazaan have...

'So near yet so far' - This could well be the deep sigh a viewer may end up taking after watching Playboy girl Candice Boucher on big screen for the first time. Though she has proven to be quite an eye candy if her dare-bare pictures flooding internet are any indication, when it comes to facing camera for Bollywood flick Aazaan, she seems to have mellowed down quite a bit. "Don't expect her to go nude in the film", comes a declaration from a prominent crew member who has sat through the editing process of Aazaan, "There are no false expectations being set for the audience lest they start wondering whether they have been cheated. Yes, it is understandable that when there is a centrespread model in a film, you do expect some nudity here and there. However, Aazaan is not an erotica, it is a spy thriller and hence...

Aazaan is an upcoming thriller based around biological warfare, starring newcomers Sachiin Joshi and Candice Boucher in what has already been labelled the most expensive Bollywood film ever made. But what about the soundtrack? Have they gone over the top with that too?
Fortunately, no.
The Aazaan soundtrack is short and sweet – four original tracks, a theme instrumental, and 4 remixes. Brother composers Salim-Sulaiman are at the helm for this one, and have done a fantastic job of creating a lovely, melodic, coherent album that can stand apart from the film.
Afreen opens the album and sets the tone – and what a tone! A plaintively beautiful melody is accented sparingly with an array of instrumentation: Spanish guitars, shimmering electronic flourishes, violins, piano. What really shines is the yearning vocal track from Salim Merchant. The tempo of this track almost makes it sound poppy, but it has a beautiful melancholy to it.

That Shah Rukh Khan is an inspiration to many out there is something which is a known fact. Known for his romantic image, he is now looking at action in a big way, case in point being Ra.One and Don 2. No wonder, even his action sequences are now turning out to be a source of inspiration for his friends and followers. This is evidenced from the fact that last year when he jumped from a skyscraper in Berlin, Shah Rukh was being closely observed by his friend Sachiin Joshi. The entrepreneur turned actor has now incorporated a similar scene in his upcoming film Aazaan as well which is again a spy thriller. "Sachiin and Shah Rukh have been friends for quite some time and frequently exchange notes around their films", says a source, "When Shah Rukh jumped off a 300 ft tall building in October last year, the moment was etched in Sachiin's memory.
