I remember a movie with a simliar story called SIMPLY IRRESISTABLE where the baker made something that had the lead actor fall head over heals for her this movie was alot more tamer then that one little more mellower but good movie i gave this movie a total score of 7/10 STORy you baker (peyton) has a rumor that her baked goods are magical this rumor turns out semi true when (archer ) a buisness man whos in charge of choosin who top bakers are at a baking contest starts to see more to the baker then her skills in the kitchen she thinks his feelis are tied to the rumors and the drama unfolds

good time good ending 7/10.

COME ON
valica-338498 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It's funny how the shop is popular, but you never see any customers in there. Both employees are always in the back room. So who was running the front, then, one leaves the shop and the other stays in the back. Again, who's running this shop?

The switching of the pies, come on, you baked them, how you don't know which is which? For a shop so busy, kitchen always so clean. Lady orders a cookie, 1 bite & leaves.

Some times these little B movies kill me. Acting is so bad & story line too unbelievable yet predictable.

For the one girl, they got a promotion at work. It's amazing she ate the pie and got a promotion. Shouldn't it be her boss ate the pie, and then she got a promotion?

Frustrating

6.4 stars.

How many different ways can this baker and her assistant make mistakes in life and baking? And what is with all the sappy and awkward, romantic attempts? I'm not sure I enjoy this sort of presentation, it comes off as trying too hard to invoke a specific response from the audience. I can safely say there is not a man in the audience, who is particularly intrigued, or motivated to continue with this film.

This woman is a witch? But she won't admit she's a witch, in fact, she makes it a point to be certain that nobody thinks she bakes magic into her goods, yet it's obvious that she knows there is some magic to it. Obviously her grandma was a witch, and has passed down her magical recipes to the granddaughter, who appears to be the only one who knows... The whole portrayal is absolutely infuriating, but I guess that's the point right? The more response they get from the audience, whether positive or negative, the better. What I interpret is the point is witches and sorcery are whimsical and fun and harmless... I can't imagine there is any other theme to the story. I don't know why I kept watching this movie I just felt intrigued to see where it would all end. What is it with her relationship with the parents? They are so uptight and tense around her, and she is also the same around them, and yet they want us to believe that the parents are the problem? It's obvious that she is the problem. Maybe she should grow up. Eventually this problem rights itself, but it's too juvenile in how it plays out. And her attitude towards life in general, she's so difficult to deal with, and yet there is an obvious contrast with how everyone in the community loves her so dearly, but her personality is anything but lovable. The scriptwriter is not going to fool this particular audience member with the obvious conflicts in emotions and traits of the lead female. It just doesn't work. Pretentious is the word I've been searching for. Yes, that's it.

The ending would be endearing and lovely but it doesn't fit. There are too many gaps in the progression of the relationships. They jumped from point A to C without a B.

Lame

Warning: Spoilers
I'm used to cheesy Hallmark movies, but this isn't even up there with that. For the most part the acting wasn't that great, the characters were very cliche, it was completely predictable, and they really did a highlight of the baker at the ball? The baker that didn't even get chosen to provide the desserts for the ball? That's so ridiculous. It felt so forced and cringy. The lead actor says he really likes the lead actress and he loves getting to know her, but in all their conversations there's just a lot of awkwardness. I'm not quite sure what he likes about her, as he doesn't really get to know her, except that she makes her Grandma's recipes. Mom and dad meddling, the rich donor lady making a fuss about something, all of it, just so predictable. And is there a reason why the main character always wears headbands and sleeveless shirts? There are other ways of doing your hair and other clothes to wear. It feels like whoever decided on costume design really loved the sleeveless look. There's nothing wrong with it, but it felt like she was just a little too cheesy with her headbands, matching shirts but just in different colors, and bicycle that she rides everywhere.

We want PART 2!!
chonlee-720709 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This movie definitely needs a Part 2 to finish what Archer and Peyton started (a marriage perhaps), afterall he worked so hard lol! Peyton also needs to redeem her confidence, take her talents, skills, and maybe expand her bakery to next level, and maybe follow up with all the love stories attached to the bakery and the pregnancy. I didn't care for the parents very much, but enjoyed the twist. This movie was so positive and involved. I dont believe in the power of the "magical bakes" but I do believe this movie has something SPECIAL that deserves another round! Let's face it this couple is gorgeous together!!

Horrible
Jackbv12313 February 2024
The acting is poor with a few that players that are really bad. Peyton's parents are a perfect example of killing with kindness and not in a good sense. They're love is totally destructive to Peyton, especially her career. Only the cheesiest climax ever could bring about the expected typical rom/com results. I think the setting for what happened was inappropriate, otherwise it could have been a sweet climax.

Ansley Gordon' and Jonathan Stoddard have less than zero chemistry. Peyton spends the entire movie backing away from Archer either physically or emotionally. Stoddard exhibits no sincerity in Archer's feelings for Peyton. I don't like using superlatives like worst, and a lot of these movies rush the romance so much that it's hard to believe when they fall for each other, but I can't think of another rom/com I've seen where the romantic ending makes less sense. I never felt that Archer's affection was genuine for Peyton. In Peyton's case, it definitely didn't seem like she had any affection for him until suddenly, she did.

This is fantastic!
whatisbecky20 December 2023
This is like a witchcraft story, where the lead is a witch. Customers come to buy deserts but they are also buying spells. These spells include: Sweet Success, True love, Mending and Fertility. I watched this because I am a big fan of the director Brittany Underwood. She is so multi talented and beautiful. I liked this movie more than I thought I would. It hit the spot. I looked for it on DVD, unfortunately, there isn't one. I recommend this movie as it is a good feeling and enjoyable film. I think movies with "magic"are a lot of fun. Fantasies, imagination, creativity are things I'm drawn to. And also spiritual things which I think can be applied here. Witch, Saint, Angel, the main character is definitely blessed and is blessing others.

Good movie, likeable cast and worthy of re-watching.
grammajanie-288117 February 2024
A sweet movie. Far above most UP offerings. Solid and likeable main cast, nice scenery, good sound quality and lacking the ridiculous melodrama of misunderstanding/ break-ups, etc that usually ensue 10 minutes before the end of the movie, so an extra bravo for that. Love the lead actress. I wasn't familiar with her but enjoyed her performance, as well as the second female lead and the male lead. The parents were mostly annoying, but they were supposed to be.

Is it Oscar material? Of course not, but I felt uplifted after watching it and became invested in it very early on - a plus for these movies. I'd definitely watch it again.

Wonderful
spgdppr22 September 2023
This was a very very beautifully unexpected masterpiece.... The premise of magical bakery goods making people feel special and resulting in wonderful results is original.... I was wondering what was going to happen in the end. It was totally unexpected.... The leads were very attractive and superb actors. And you could definitely see the magic developing between them. The supporting cast was also very good. It was a funny movie.... It was a sad movie.... It was an unexpectedly fantastic movie.... And left me feeling great.... As well as hungry.... The desserts were as beautiful as the leads. It's is definitely worth watching.
