One of the best episodes... Jane goes head to head with a "psychic" of a lady who was an old client of Jane's... it shows his regret of ripping people off and determination to make things right as well as keeping victims of fakes aware of the scam. Seeing this part of Jane is where this episode goes right. It's all about his journey and character development which to me is the best part.

Episode held my attention, but the mother's over acting was a distraction.

The Kidnapping

When the boy Conner Flint is abducted from the school bus stop, Patrick Jane and Lisbon investigate the case. Soon Patrick recognizes his mother Elisabeth Flint as one of his former victims when he was a con-artist. Beth does not believe that Patrick was a swindler and is using the services of the spiritual adviser Nate Glass. When Cho finds a red balloon at the bus-stop, the agents believe the notorious serial killer Balloon Man is the responsible, but investigates also Beth's family. But the deadline to find the boy is ending.

"Pretty Red Balloon" is an episode of "The Mentalist", where another part of the dirty past of Patrick Jane is disclosed. Once again he resolves the case after many twists. My vote is seven.
