The inconsistent poor acting is very distracting
stuartho-6738623 October 2021
A somewhat interesting film. There is something about the flow of the film that made the film off. The storyline of one of the two leads played by a British actor seem plausible and decent. The second lead actor however, was consistently distracting. It appears that he sometimes tries a fake British accent, sounding quite American. Then at other times he sounds like a foreigner with a British accent that cant be pinpointed. One can tell there were breaks in the filming because this actor returns on different scenes with a stronger accent then reverts to sounding American. This coupled with poor acting was very distracting. His most convincing part was at the emotional end of the film. I was momentarily emotionally captivated by this scene. There were so many actors trying too hard to be actors. It was very challenging to overlook this to reach the end of the film. The film is a long 2hrs. The premise of the film is interesting, the script and acing for the second lead was poorly executed.

To Be or Not To Be-friend,Lover or self absorebed Pr**k?
pscheck231 October 2020
The relationship between the two protagonist is unclear to me. Did Ben reveal some intimate details of their early life together to that magazine writer to suggest they may have been on the DL? I say this as Adam called him on it after the interview was published. Also, they were rent boys being pimped by the Drag Queen club owner, and it seemed they, at first, had female clients. But it seems Ben would take on a male client only because he owed' his pimp' a favor.. But sometime after being 'flatmates' Ben starts dating a woman! (Much to Adams disgust!) And when Adam tries to kiss Ben, he is rebuffed! That incident is what causes Ben to move out. Yet Ben plays the passive role in sex scenes with his GF. Maybe both are Bisexual with Ben leaving 'that' behind in his pursuit of a writing and acting career and Adam hanging on to 'it' in hopes Ben will return.? I think the ambiguity of their relationship is what motivates the narrative of this film and the tragedy that follows!

Bad Casting
ChicagoMan411 November 2021
The actor playing Adam is hideously, grotesquely homely. Horrible buck teeth, no chin, poor posture, greasy hair. Yuk. Who could believe that anyone would hire him as a sex escort???

Great story. The thirst for fame sometime leads to the end of the tunnel.

My father always told me Hollywood is the end of the tunnel. I wasn't quite sure what he meant, but after watching this film, I got the visualization of what he meant quite clear. This is a FANTASTIC film. Not sure why the negative reviews. Its a very engaging story with lots of heart and raw emotion plastered on the screen. It tackles many subject matters and does so masterfully. The titled is perfect and demonstrates a variety of emotions actors go through in their quest to attain a carrer as a working actor. John De Luca is quite a talent to watch. Apparently he had many hats in this film. His acting is magnetic, raw and just perfect. This man can carry a film like a champ. I could not stop watching him nor could I guess all the twist and turns the film was going to take. Its a wretched world out there where only the strong survives. In the entertainment industry, and for all aspiring actors, the stakes are twice as high as its a very unpredictable career choice. Both protagonist realize this during their respective journeys. And I say their respective journeys, because even tho the film starts out with both men looking out for each other, life has other plans for them. This film, even tho not quite the same, reminded me of another film from the 80's called "Less Than Zero" similar premise, but this film goes far beyond the other one. I HIGHLY recommend this film. The performances, story, cinematography, overall production is very good. The film will take you for a ride no doubt. I'll keep my eye peeled for John De Luca. He's got movie star written all over him and a very engaging presence. I did not know what I was getting myself into when I saw this film, but I'm so happy I saw it and I strongly recommend anyone thinking about giving this film a chance, to give it a go and let the film take you on its journey. Its a rocky road, but a very satisfying one.
