It's like the sound editor on this film was fired before they had finished their job. All the dialogue is planned to the right and all the music is panned to the left, and the music abruptly cuts out at scene changes early on. I thought I'd get used to this, but it was actually distracting throughout the whole film.
Regarding the film itself, if you ignore the terrible accents, it's quite well acted and moves at a nice pace, recreating that summer holiday vibe. Not a film I'd necessarily recommend, but I did like it.

Halfway through this relationship drama we have a thirtyish couple breaking apart in a sea of guilt, betrayal and boredom, meeting with a bohemian couple that are grasping at life and enjoying it for all it is worth.
At that point I thought it was going to be one of those 'partner swap that will make everything all right in the end' type of movie. But it isn't.
What the plot does is take a really strange turn and we go running for the ending in style that the movie hasn't earned thus far.
I won't give it away but it feels like the ending was made up halfway through shooting the movie. Strange.

Swimming Pool meets a Bigger Splash

If you enjoyed the titles Swimming Pool and A Bigger Splash then this is your film. It's tense and lovely. Check it out and you tell me what you think. Set in beautiful countryside a couple (with some issues) meets a bohemian couple in their pool. The rest plays out. Given the other review that I read here I wasn't going to watch it- but was glad that I did.

This movie is 7 years old and only has 3 reviews and barely a hundred ratings. It, for whatever reason, appears to have gone completely unnoticed. I wonder what happened there..
Anyway, in terms of the movie itself...It didn't blow me away as anything amazing but it was solid throughout and you never knew where it was heading. It kept my attention the whole time and I really enjoyed it. I'd say check it out but I have a feeling nobody will ever read this haha
