I am still watching bloody heart, i like it very very much.

Till now, everything is good.

The acting is also very professional. I need to mention lee joon and how he delivers the emotions easily

i ll rate this drama after i finish all the episodes, i hate sad endings, so ill keep watching.

Good Enough
PennyReviews2 August 2022
Korean Drama "Bloody Heart" is a feast of beautiful camerawork, excellent lighting, atmospheric settings, and just right costumes.

The story starts strongly, and the love story sets strong foundations for what is there to come next. And yet, what does come next is a letdown. It was boring more than anything, and the whole political battle lacked intensity and the right plot twists.

As for the performances, they were all great, and the main couple had chemistry.

So, overall, seven out of ten.

So Much Potential that Never Got Off the Ground
mako-3522023 June 2022
I would have rated it 4 stars but Kang Han Na saves this drama with her great acting skills. Jang Hyuk is excellent as the foil that you can't quite figure out, and Park Ji-Yeon adds much as the Queen Dowager. No knock against Lee Joon's acting, but they did you wrong with that character. Yoon Seo-A is that wonderful supporting character, as court lady Ttong-Geum, that makes you smile every time she's on screen.

Bloody Heart is a kdrama that seemed to search for an identity, had many confusing false starts, and then felt rushed at the conclusion. It was similar to Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (an excellent kdrama), but in the end didn't impress me as much.

Underrated Masterpiece

Has some of the best plot twists I've seen in a kdrama. Each episode ending keeps you wanting more. Would highly recommend to someone who enjoys historical romance-political dramas.

Bloated Heart
Park_Min29 December 2023
The drama had a good selection of cast with decent varied performances. Jang Hyuk working double and triple shifts here. It had some interesting characters, especially Gye Won which I feel we didn't get enough of him. While the story may have been fine for the first half but it took a worse direction in the second half, losing whatever interest and build up it had previously. The keyword here is "odd" regarding the state of the production. Odd and questionable choices of the soundtracks, some of which didn't fit. Odd and questionable shot compositions and editing. Some shots had slightly different lighting or color grading of the same scene. The drama is filled with very long takes/shots that were too annoying after the 3rd time, it came off as a poor attempt in trying to mimic film, most of them didn't hit right. The only highlights of this drama were the intriguing 1st half and the character Park Gye Won.

A series that deserves a score of ten
omaymehq23 June 2022
Bloody Heart was a series that shone in terms of acting, directing and especially writing. The script of the series was unpredictable and each episode was more exciting than the previous one. And the brilliant play of the main characters of the series had greatly improved the quality of the series. And all this made us see one of the best historical dramas of 2022 so far.

The wrong guy was made King
poulomihari24 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The series began at a very interesting note when we see a mother going so far as to poison her son just to protect him, but soon in the second half we realize that the King has grown up to be a bad guy. At least that is what an itellectual would infer. We begin hating Counciller Park but he dies a hero in my eyes. The true villain of the story is the King himself. I think in his introduction scene where he broke the eggs which the kids were willing to hatch, that itself was a big red flag. If the makers are subtly telling us that the king is supposed to be a cruel tyrant and they build a second season to have him fall, then thats a brilliant idea. However if the writers want us to believe that the King was the good guy then I must spoil it for you- nah, he is evil, infinetely toxic, self-righteous brat who wants to rule people and force his command on everyone.

Counciller Park IMO was one of the greatest characters ever written. He starts of as the bad guy. But as the series progresses you realize he is actually a great king-maker. He rules with an iron fist. He had previously deposed a tyrant and installed the previous king. He was always wary of the small and big conspiracies going on and treaded accordingly. He would keep a grip on the royalities so neither of them could exceed their power. His ideology was to keep the nation safe. This is why he commanded respect and held authority in the whole game. It so happened that he came to odds with the King's mother- which led to her committing suicide so she could blame Counciller Park, who later had to frame Yoo Hak Soo just so he could save all his people.

Yoo Hak Soo and his family were presecuted while their daughter survived. She seldom had any interest in the Palace politics but the king's fascination had her dragged into it. For once I thought she was a great player and seeing Counciller Park deeming her worthy made me believe she would do something interesting. But nah, what a waste. While after the whole Dowager Queen blunder I was screaming on the top of my lungs "You fool, you NEED Couciller Park. You need Defence Minister Cho!" I was hoping Yoo Jeong would knock some sense into the king but oh well... Counciller Park and Minister Cho were misunderstood characters. They were both strong and forged in experience. Eliminating the two for an "eighth grade revenge" was stupidity. A King can not make decisions based on personal vendetta. He was simply against them because he blamed them for killing his mom, while he knew well enough that his mother willingly drank the poison so she could destroy them. This is a story of bad parenting, bad upbringing, bad behaviour.

Coming to the technical aspects, series was pleasant to the eyes. The camera-work was wonderful. The sets and locations were gorgeous. The acting was passable. The lead actor was good however I got sick of seeing him cry/tear up in every scene. Female Lead is a very known actress and I am actually quite fond of her. But in this series her charater was so dull, it was wooden. I grew tired of her expressionless face, which is a shame because she had done plenty other shows where she had shown a range of emotions. Waste of potential indeed.

The only actor who put its blood sweat and tears was Jang Hyuk. I absolutely adored his portrayal of Counciller Park. Through his performance you really begin to see the character as a fleshed out person. His character was magnanimous and trust me, he was the only reason I was hooked to the show. A senior actor indeed, Jang Hyuk showed the world why he is still a huge name.

Overall this series was average. Watch it for the politics. Keep in mind that if you are an intellectual being, you might end up hating the "hero" and loving the "villain". Afterall, the series does play with our minds.

unexpectedly so interesting
aissy_ice8 July 2022
Unexpectedly so interesting. Watching this drama makes me wonder if this is purely fiction or kinda based on true story, or if it was from novel and then made to a drama. I have no regret watching this drama. I love how they put it into thoughts in all detail of the drama. I love how things are not fully controlled over one character's scheme. The fact that many events that appeared in this drama was influenced by their own (characters) assumptions that can create such a plot twist is so fun to watch and reminds me of how human can be so foolish because of their own fear, dream, or desire. And I enjoyed how the drama presented a character can not be fully hated or liked just like drama in general.

Experimental piece of work
dua1sense24 June 2022
The drama is groundbreaking in many aspects such as the epic camerawork, film set and costume, however it neither portrays a bloody or heartfelt story. Character development in this drama is unclear and sometimes off the grid otherwise it would have been a great success.
