TelevisaUnivision plans to lean into new formats and areas of cultural conversation, as the Spanish-language media giant seeks to stand out in a crowded upfront marketplace.

That will include the addition of 24/7 reality formats, where viewers can watch the goings-on at any time in addition to regular episodes, a slew of music programming (and an entirely new live music festival), and a substantial investment in “microdramas,” which will seek to bring the telenovela format to mobile devices.

Disney’s live-action “Snow White” is here, taking the 1937 animated film into the real world, dwarves and all.

Although technically, in this version, they aren’t dwarves. As explained in the movie, they’re magical creatures that have lived in the woods for hundreds of years. That said, they still take on the names of the original seven dwarves.

Following her executive production work on Prime Video’s Música, in which she also starred along the film’s writer and director Rudy Mancuso, as well as her EP role on the streamer’s romantic comedy Upgraded, in which she starred alongside Archie Renaux and Marisa Tomei, Camila Mendes’ latest double-duty project takes place in the world of fashion. Idiotka is an acquisition title out of the 2025 SXSW Film Festival, where it will premiere Wednesday.

“This project came through a mutual friend that I shared with our producing partner, Tess Cohen, a friend that I knew from high school. It’s very random, but awesome. It gripped me,” Mendes told Deadline of the film ahead of its premiere Wednesday. “I called my producing partner right away, Rachel Matthews, and I was like, we gotta do this. She’s like, ‘Babe, I’m with you. I just read the first two pages and I’m in.

Exclusive: Amazon MGM Studios has landed the pitch Stand-In, with Rudy Mancuso attached to direct and compose the film’s original soundtrack.

Mancuso will also write the script alongside Dan Lagana, from a story by Andy Muschietti. Andy and Barbara Muschietti will produce the film, which follows a Hollywood-obsessed stand-in who seizes his chance to shine after a series of events leads to the disappearance of the actor he’s standing in for. Exclusive: TriStar Pictures has pre-emptively acquired comedy pitch The Breadwinner from stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze and Dan Lagana, with Bargatze attached to star. This will mark Bargatze’s first starring role in a feature film. He will also produce alongside Lagana. Jeremy Latcham is producing via Wonder Project.

The project is in early development, with Bargatze and Lagana currently writing the script. The comedy plot is being kept under wraps.

THR reports that Mendes will join Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man. West Side Story actor Kyle Allen was previously attached to play the muscle-bound hero.

Teela has been a permanent fixture of the Motu franchise ever since those first mini-comics, and is usually depicted as Prince Adam's protector and He-Man's right-hand woman/love-interest.

Camila Mendes has joined the cast of “Masters of the Universe.” The “Riverdale” actor will portray the character of Teela alongside Nicholas Galitzine, who is playing the blond barbarian known as He Man.

Plot details are being kept under wraps,” but according to a prior synopsis from the studio, “Masters of the Universe” follows Prince Adam of Eternia aka He-Man, who crashes to Earth in a spaceship as a child and, decades later, returns to his home planet to defend it from the evil forces of the baddie known as Skeletor. Camila Mendes (Riverdale) has landed the role of Teela in the forthcoming, live-action Masters of the Universe film from Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films, Deadline has learned.

Mendes stars opposite the previously announced Nicholas Galitzine, who plays He-Man. Her character, Teela, is a warrior who as Captain of Eternia’s Royal Guard, is responsible for protecting the royal family, especially Prince Adam aka He-Man.

Based on the iconic Mattel franchise, the film’s plot is being closely guarded. Laika’s Travis Knight is directing the pic from a screenplay by Chris Butler. David Callaham and Aaron and Adam Nee worked on the initial draft. Previously in development at Sony and Netflix, Masters of the Universe is being produced by Escape Artists and Mattel Films for release exclusively in theaters worldwide on June 5, 2026.

Sony’s reboot of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” has found its principal cast.

Camila Mendes, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers and Jonah Haur-King are in talks to join the cast of the 1997 horror flick’s redux.

The original film followed four young friends bound by a tragic accident who are reunited when they find themselves being stalked by a hook-wielding maniac. The film became a cult classic, earned over $125 million worldwide and led to the sequel “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.” Original stars Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt are in talks to return.

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (“Do Revenge”) is directing the film, which is written by Sam Lansky and Kaytin Robinson off a draft by Leah McKendrick. Neal Moritz is producing.

Sony Pictures will release the film in theaters on July 18, 2025.

The digital creator makes his big screen debut writing, directing, and starring in “Música,” which charts his own coming-of-age story as an artist with synesthesia. Set in Newark, “Música” follows Mancuso’s balance of love, family, and his Brazilian culture.

The final roster of films and television programs is still building up, but several massive titles are already confirmed to appear at the annual festival, including The Fall Guy, 3 Body Problem, Babes, and the opening night film Road House among others. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal as the new Dalton, the Road House remake will be premiering on March 21, 2024. On YouTube, Prime Video shared a sizzle reel teasing its slate of 2024 releases, and among them is the new Road House. The footage is brief, but the first look comes three seconds into the new video, unveiling Gyllenhaal looking more jacked than ever in his role as a former UFC fighter who takes on a job as a bouncer at a Florida roadhouse. The video also provides a peek at Gyllenhaal in action, with the actor taking on several foes at once starting at the 1:21 mark.
