A saga crafted through the seemingly myopic lens of a random kid messing with people on a video game which quickly and surely shifted into something far greater. A dramedy documentary-esque story arc that showcases how the rapacity of capitalism strangles said aforementioned kid's source of cherished memories, that being the video game World of Warcraft, and pushes him to chase after his nostalgia. The result is a brilliant character arc of a chaotic over the top goblin character named Flowerstain who slowly develops and becomes more tame and evolved, eventually leading to a fourthwall break of the now grownup kid who is faced with coming to terms that the past is the past and due to the greed of man and passing of time cannot be recaptured a second time, like lightning in a bottle. "Don't go chasing after ghosts in hopes of finding old footprints," was one of the closing lines, as was "If you don't keep forward when walking, you'll bump into sh*t, so keep your eyes on the future, and on the present."
While it may not be for everyone, I was astounded by the mixture of comedy, self actualization, and melodrama, all played together into a 5 episode saga that carried heavy themes of growing up, letting go of the past, and acceptance of who you are. All of that its with wacky editing and production, hilarious narration from Vladimir Packard (Kozy), and a whimsical titular character lead, Flowerstain is an easy 10/10 in my book.
