A straightforward OVA about retired heroes leading regular lives seems like fun, doesn't it? Yes, exactly. The issue for me is that, while I appreciate the concept, I don't think the storyline met our expectations. In essence, this story revolves around Kougyoku's struggles with adjusting to change, despite the title and premise seeming very different. Rather than this entire struggling to adapt cliche nonsense, we should have seen some heroes trying to find jobs or going to school. The other characters in the series are merely there since Kogyouku is the main focus of the narrative.
I was appalled by the plot, but I still found it enjoyable. It's only the first episode, so I say give it a try. It won't kill you to watch anime for a whole day, and despite the cliched characters and plot, I think you'll still love it.
