“Last Run” is a stand out film in Miike’s oeuvre, for a number of reasons, which, unfortunately, have very little to do with quality. The script of the film was kickstarted by a screenplay competition organized by TV Tokyo and Nikkei newspaper, who asked their readers to submit a feature-length story about a business-related topic. The winner was Keiwa Okada, who was inspired by the true story of a Japanese collector who paid Us$ 18.8 million for a 1962 Ferrari 250 Gto, the largest sum ever paid for a single car at the time. Miike, the ultimate Director-for-hire was the right man for the job. However, the production was a good opportunity for him, since the big budget (for a TV movie) allowed him to shoot abroad and with a foreign crew for the first time, and particularly in Ferrari’s hometown, Modena, and Imola, where the homonymous racetrack is.

Pop-rock hitmakers Walk the Moon released their new video for “Timebomb,” that’s reminiscent of White Stripes’ stark colors and minimalism. The Ohio quartet stage the clip in various vividly tinted rooms of a makeshift house — singing and playing against color-coded backgrounds between close-up flashes of women’s faces. Frontman Nicholas Petricca dances vigorously in several scenes, and drummer Sean Waugaman occasionally bashes a bright yellow drum set.
Walk the Moon issued “Timebomb,” a non-album single, in mid-January. The track follows their fourth LP, 2017’s What If Nothing, which featured the singles “One Foot,...

Emimen has had a busy week. Last Friday, he released an 11-minute, acapella freestyle furiously directed at no one in particular, apparently in support of the battle rap film he produced, Bodied. This Friday, he gets the shit kicked out of him by Jessie Reyez in the new music video for their collaboration, “Good Guy.”
The song is a sequel to “Nice Guy,” another Em and Reyez collaboration from the surprise dropped Kamikaze. Both songs deal, in somewhat confusing terms, with the complicated romantic relationships Eminem finds himself in. In the “Good Guy” video,...

Eminem just landed a Grammy nomination for his song “Lucky You,” which features fellow emcee Joyner Lucas. The single, which comes off of Slim Shady’s “Kamikaze” album, is an interesting Best Rap Song contender, as Eminem takes a shot at the Grammys in his version of the chorus.
Here are Em’s relevant lyrics:
I done won a couple Grammys, but I sold my soul to get ‘em
Wasn’t in it for the trophies, just the f—in’ recognition
F—‘s the difference?
Joyner’s bars, which start the song, are a bit more complimentary of the top trophy in their industry. A bit.

When Eminem released his surprise album Kamikaze back in August, he didn't bother with a press tour or the old-school media song and dance. Instead, he dropped a link to buy the album on Twitter, told fans he "Tried not 2 overthink this 1" and added a middle finger emoji. Because just as he's done many times before, Eminem decided to let the music speak for itself. And to no one's surprise, the rapper's tenth studio album was chock-full of controversial lyrics—including anti-gay slurs (which he later regretted) and targeted attacks on fellow rappers and politicians. Kamikaze had all the headline-making, think piece-generating themes we've come to expect from an Eminem album. And it...

Eminem performed the title track to the Marvel movie “Venom” from high atop the Empire State Building on Monday, and it all had something to do with a smartphone. Mid-music video, the “Kamikaze” rapper ran into “Jimmy Kimmel Live” security guard Guillermo in the big building’s elevator, when Slim Shady dropped some solid knowledge about the New York City landmark’s architecture.
“If you get a chance, you should check out the exhibit on the 80th floor,” Eminem tells Jimmy Kimmel’s buddy over some “Venom” muzak. “This building was designed by a guy named William Lamb, and it only took him like 410 days to build it. That’s crazy, right?”
“Wow,” Guillermo responds, clearly impressed.

One night last week many New Yorkers wondered why helicopters were surrounding the Empire State Building and the iconic landmark’s famous lights were “freaking out” — and they got their answer last night: Eminem performed a stinging version of “Venom” from inside and atop the building Monday night on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” as part of the show’s New York week.
“King Kong Aint Got $#*! On Me! EMpire State building is where it’s happening tonight on @jimmykimmellive” the rapper tweeted Monday evening, and the elaborate shoot lived up to the billing. Cameras followed Em as he rapped through the building’s lobby, into an elevator October 16, 2018
Earlier this month, the Mc released a video for the song, the last track on his surprise album “Kamikaze,” to coincide with the release of the Ruben Fleischer-directed Marvel movie, which stars Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, and Tom Hardy in the title role.

Eminem Takes Out Full-Page Ad Blasting Critics Of His New Album: ‘Thanks For The Support, A**holes!’
Reviews of Eminem’s new Kamikaze album have not been great, and this has not escaped the notice of the 45-year-old rapper. Paul McCartney easily took the top spot on the Billboard 200 this week when his new album Egypt Station blew past 153,000 equivalent album units — a forceful 147,000 of which were traditional album sales. Eminem’s Kamikaze, now two weeks old, slotted in at Number Two with 136,000 units.
But just under those two, and well ahead of records by Drake, Ariana Grande, Mac Miller, Post Malone, Travis Scott and Nicki Minaj, is a somewhat unexpected record called Look Up Child by 27-year-old Christian singer Lauren Daigle, selling 115,000 units, 103,000 of which are traditional album sales.

And the conspiracy mill has begun to churn... It's no secret that Machine Gun Kelly and Eminem have been feuding. Six years after Mgk called Eminem's then-teenage daughter "hot as f--k" on Twitter, the "Kamikaze" star fired back at his new foe with his track, "Not Alike," rapping, "And I'm talkin' to you, but you already know who the f--k you are, Kelly/I don't use sublims and sure as f--k don't sneak-diss/But keep commenting on my daughter Hailie." Just like that, a rap battle began. Mgk responded to the song three days later with diss track, "Rap Devil." Meanwhile, Eminem got fired up about Kelly in an interview with...

Eminem has been rethinking his word choice. The rapper came under fire late last month when, upon the release of his 10th studio album, Kamikaze, fans learned he had used a homophobic slur to describe rapper Tyler, the Creator. Eminem and Joyner Lucas attract an army of imitators in the new video for “Lucky You.”
No, it doesn’t make a lot of sense. The two rappers stroll through an empty post-industrial wasteland delivering their lines in double-time. As they walk, they’re stalked by an ever-growing number of figures wearing black hoodies with eyes that glow bright red. During a bizarre and over-long comic interlude, Lucas and Eminem realize that their stalkers will imitate every move they make, so they lead their followers through a series of goofy dances.

There’s a new trend in rap: An embattled artist releases an album, faces considerable scorn and decides to host their own interview or radio show to explain away the controversy. It’s supposed to be eye-opening and candid, but usually comes off as simple PR maneuvering. Earlier this year, Kanye West sat down with Charlamagne Tha God to discuss his support of President Trump and journey dealing with mental illness. Surprise album releases are common enough these days that they’re not as shocking as they used to be, but it was still a big deal when Eminem dropped his new album “Kamikaze” on Aug. 31 without any advance promotion. Could it win him Grammys? Slim Shady has 15 trophies already on his mantel, but despite three previous nominations for Album of the Year he has never won the top prize from the notoriously rap-averse recording academy. The academy is trying to examine its biases, but Eminem might need to examine his own because a bigger problem for him on the awards stage might be his continued use of the f-word.
Oh, plenty of musicians use the f-word that refers to a certain act of mutual gratification between consenting adults. Eminem is in trouble for a different f-word, the one used as an anti-gay slur. He uses it in the song “The Fall...
