The word monster is often applied too freely to people who commit despicable acts, but what other appellation can be given to a man who snatches a 9 year old girl from her bed and rapes her, does the same to a 12 year old, rapes a young woman then slashes her throat twice after asking her if she will tell anyone then telling her she won't?
This is the story of the hunt for James Selby who was convicted on over two dozen counts of such acts, his oldest victim being a 55 year old woman. This excellent documentary has two distinctive features, one unusual, one unfortunate. The unusual feature is that in addition to the men and women who hunted him down, it talks to three of his victims including the 9 year old Sarah Jones, and Tiffany Nakajima whom he nearly murdered; Sarah was still a child when this was made. This punches a hole in one of the major achievements of the pernicious sexual grievance industry, the supposed need for the anonymity of victims, or in many cases simply accusers. When Selby elected to defend himself at one of his trials, Tiffany also had to face being cross-examined by him.
The really disturbing feature of this case is that if the local plod had half a brain between them, Sarah would have been Selby's last victim as well as his first. At the end of the day he was caught more or less by chance. James Allen Selby committed suicide in his prison cell on November 22, 2004. His mother may miss him, but no one else will.
