Great Low-key J-Horror Movie of a Cursed Di-Vu-Di
Cinemascot18 October 2021
A Great Low-key J-Horror Movie! It follows the premise of a pseudo documentary where mysterious events unfold around a "cursed" DVD. A group of TV journalists investigates it after one of their coworkers kills herself investigating the DVD on her own.

We follow the TV crew joined by a person previously affected by the DVD around Tokyo looking into the origin and the nature of this DVD. The investigation itself is shot beautifully, immersing us slowly into the deep dark secret behind this Di-Vu-Di :).

The production of the film looks like it is a TV movie, which I like quite a lot. It might actually be a TV movie but I am not sure. It is reminiscent of the cursed video type Japanese horror content. The acting is also on the mark. The somewhat bizarre and seemingly dull acting creates the atmosphere of alienation, which is essential in a horror film. Content of the said DVD is also eery on its own right.

Overall, if you are a fan of J-Horror, particularly the documentary style works of Koji Shiraishi or Norio Tsuruta, this is the movie to watch.
