- As things are turning around for the city, people must face a disaster of epic proportions. They are dealing with the prospect of losing the people of New Orleans as they turn into the city's walking dead.
- ZOMBEX tells the story of a post-Katrina New Orleans as it deals with a new disaster, a zombie apocalypse. NOLA residents are no longer experiencing the depression and post-traumatic stress due to the trauma of the hurricane, thanks to the revolutionary ZOMBEX - a rogue, yet, "clinically-proven" anti-depressant pharmaceutical manufactured by a nefarious organization. For those who call the Big Easy their home, everything is just now turning around for them. Or, could it just be the drug, ZOMBEX, talking... Just as things are turning around for the city and its people, they once again must face a disaster of epic proportions. Only this time, they're dealing with the prospect of losing the people of New Orleans as they turn into the city's walking dead...—Zombex
- The revolutionary treatment guaranteed to ease your mind. Permanently!!! Zombex is a throw-back zombie horror film set in historic New Orleans and throughout Texas. Using a pharmaceutical company as the culprit for outbreak, a private military contracting firm as the clean up, and a caravan to Austin Texas as the only hope for a vaccine. With the feel of the old classic zombie films that established the genre (Zombie, Dellamorte Dellamore), mixed with the energy and intensity of the new wave zombie films, such as 28 Days Later, The Crazies, and the new Dawn of the Dead, Zombex pulls from a wide variety of inspiration to construct this unique and wholly original view of the post-apocalyptic zombie America.—Anonymous
- In New Orleans, shortly after Hurricane Katrina, an elderly couple eat breakfast in their home. After taking his prescribed pill, he transforms into a zombie and attacks his wife killing her as an advertisement for Chandler pharmaceuticals plays in the background. Elsewhere, radio personality Aldo Huxley broadcasts conspiracy theory in his career, blaming the zombie apocalypse on Chandler pharmaceuticals. A man named Charlie awakens within a bar being an alcoholic. He returns home and it is revealed that the elderly couple were his parents. He is neurotic about their deaths but desires to set out and find out who did this to them, heading off down the road. He returns to New Orleans to discover who killed his parents, getting hammered along the way and discovers the Chandler prescription his father had. He foolishly takes a pill of it. He then sees a zombie apocalypse taking place on the news and sees Huxley being interviewed about his beliefs that Chandler is to blame. In Chandler Pharmaceuticals, CEO Russ Chandler hires a small team of mercenaries led by Katie-Ann, to set out and kill the zombies made by the drugs. He introduces her to Dr. Solis, who is the lead scientist for Chandler, who explained that the PTSD from Hurricane Katrina is the problem which he made the prescription for with bad side effects. The mercenary team takes off and begins with Katie-Ann killing several attacking zombies.
Huxley is called up in his radio booth by Dr. Solis who explains that there in fact is a cure that can counteract the zombie process so long as you take it within hours of being infected. However, the serum cannot be administered to the state of Louisiana due to it being listed as a "No Fly Zone." Therefore, Huxley takes it upon himself to bring the serum to Louisiana himself. Charlie also leaves upon hearing the news, killing any and every zombie that he passes in his car. Huxley receives a package of the serum, but packs up to go to Austin Texas to get more serum. He meets with Charlie and the two make the journey together. Meanwhile the mercenary team kills many zombies but are driven back by their forces, prompting Katie-Ann to take the remaining members of her squad and head off to Texas as well. Huxley discovers that Charlie is turning into a zombie from the one pill he took and cures him with the serum he has received in the mail. They run into Katie-Ann and her mercenaries, who Charlie recognizes as a girl he spent a drunken night with. They then have a drunken party with a friend of Huxley's a farmer named Budro. Meanwhile Chandler's household is attacked by a horde of zombies that kill his family. He takes flight in his car.
Charlie, Huxley, Budro, and Katie-Ann with her friend continue their quest to Austen Texas but learn that it is overrun with zombie and their serum is gone. That night they spend camped at a lake. However they are attacked and Katie-Ann's remaining mercenary friend is killed by a zombie. Elsewhere, Chandler stops at a gas station to fuel up but is set upon by zombies and therefore shoots himself to avoid a worse death. At the lake, Huxley goes off to take a leak in the tree-line surrounding the lake before the group takes off. They are then attacked by a horde of zombies which Katie-Ann, still heart broken over the death of her lesbian friend walks into. Charlie tries to rescue her but can only do so much. Katie-Ann is pinned to the ground by zombies and her vagina is ripped to shreds by a zombie's teeth as she screams and succumbs to her wounds. Charlie and Huxley arrive at the government base in Austen Texas where they tell the general every thing that happened. However, Dr. Solis enters and injects both Huxley and Charlie with a Phase 2 drug that will kill them and reanimate their corpses. Huxley and Charlie are strapped to gurneys and left to die and be studied upon becoming zombies.
